The zone I-24 and I-25 governed the cities that were spread across the Southern part of the state of Indus. The earth dragon city Alan resided in belonged to zone I-24.
Currently they were headed to the Moonlit city which is the megacity incharge of zone I-24. Alan was browsing the internet as he was chilling in the hover car.
"Mom said they moved to the defence post in the Holy Sun city this morning." Harry said.
The Holy Sun city was the capital city of the Indus state.
"I have applied for an A tier contract for you. But you still have to prove your worth by passing the test. If you are lucky and get a higher tier contract then even better. A tier contract or above can get a chance to move to the capital city, so do your best" Harry motivated Alan.
Alan was excited when he heard this.
Alan didn't get to spend the previous new year with his parents and they could only celebrate over the video call. As they rarely got any leave and were unable to leave their post within the city they just had no choice other than meeting over video call.
It was like this for some previous new year. There aren't many things that are celebrated ever since the apocalypse. The new year was one of the things they celebrated as it marked the humans tenacious will to survive. Each year passed marked each year of survival.
Now that Alan has finished his high school education, he can move over there to the guild's residence so he might get to meet them often during their shifts.
They reached the teleportation agency. As the location between the cities were large and were filled with ruins and monsters in between, normal transportation was not that easy.
But thanks to some research breakthroughs of some 4th tier space mages, humans were able to develop and produce teleportation formations on a large scale.
They were traded across using the mana shop trading feature, and thanks to this transportation and movement across cities were made possible. It also aided in the formation of the world government.
Alan and Harry got off at the agency. It was jointly run by the government and the guilds.
The teleportation agency seemed similar to a train station except they had teleportation formation instead of trains. There were people coming and going out of the agency.
He stored his hover car in his inventory and walked inside with Alan. Alan had come here with his brother a couple of times to see him off, but it was his first time using this.
Harry showed them his guild token and passed through without any hassle. He did not need to pay thanks to his token.
"Hey can I also get that after I join?" Alan asked with an expectant gaze.
"Yeah sure. Every A tier contract and above includes this." Harry said as they walked into the teleportation hall.
It was a huge hall with a purple pattern engraved on its floor. It was the teleportation formation. It can be used by 500 people at the same time. There were even larger ones, but since earth dragon city is a medium city the formation of this scale was enough.
The user just has to stand on it and select your destination on the panel that pops up. If the user is traveling with a companion they can party up to travel together or if it is a non awakener they can use a bracelet which can be brought at the register.
"This is your first time going through the spatial pathway, so you may feel dizzy or nauseous. Just hang on and you will be alright" Harry and Alan got on to the formation.
Alan was rather excited to go through the teleportation formation unlike the first timers who are tense and worried. He was not worried about any trouble as he was with his brother.
Soon the teleportation formation fired up. Alan felt a tingling sensation all over his skin. He tried to feel the spatial flow as he saw everything around him blurred up. It took about 5 seconds to reach their destination.
After they got there Harry asked " so how do you feel? How was your first teleportation experience?"
"Just a tingling sensation nothing more"
"What? You don't feel anything else? Most of them puke after their first long range teleportation you know" Harry said gazing his brother up and down.
"Yeah, maybe I'm special. Alan said with a smirk. He then looked at the notification and said "You must have travelled through teleportation alot right?"
"Yeah why ask"
"How much is your space element mastery?" Alan asked as they walked out from the formation to make room for others.
"Space element mastery? I don't have that. Only those talented in that element can learn that. Like how you're talented in the fire element and you learned that easily. Why do you ask that"
"I just got a notification saying I got it" Alan said as he looked through his attribute panel.
Harry froze and almost stumbled over when he heard that.
"Quit joking." Harry said with a stern face.
"I'm serious. It says 'space element mastery 0.01%'."
Harry was dumbfounded not knowing what to say. 'It seems my brother is really a monster' thought Harry.
"Whatever it is, we'll know once we test your talents at the guild. But I can assure you if you really have a talent for it then you are set for life."
"How do they test my talent?" Alan was curious.
Harry explained the test through which it is measured while they were driving to the guild branch. The apparatus for testing the talent was simple.
It was a sphere-like orb which would scan your body after you put your hands on it. It will display the elemental affinity your body has. The lowest is 1 star and highest is 9 stars.
"Tell me about your talent." Alan asked eagerly.
Harry then explained. He had 7 star wood and water element affinity, and 8 star light element affinity. All three elements supported healing spells and were also relatively good in combat.
Harry also explained the importance of affinity. If one has an affinity for say fire element, then he will have an easy time comprehending that element.
Not having affinity doesn't mean that you can't comprehend that element. They just have to put a lot of time into comprehending that element.
Aside from elements there are also other types of talents like strength, power, speed etc which favours warrior class.
"You do have an affinity for the fire element for sure, and space element according to what you said. We can find what else you have affinity with when we get there"
They soon reached the guild branch. Alan got out and looked at the grand entrance. It was a great spectacle. There were many people of various attires going in and out
Harry patted Alan's shoulders "lets go…"
Harry guided Alan into the guild.
