Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Zone I-24 Mega city

Alan got up from the platform and was about to leave. He checked on the others Ann, Kane and Ruo Si were still there hanging on. Arun seemed to have finished his trial.

He walked out and followed the official. He registered his progress to the relevant department and met up with his brother.

"Have you seen Arun? He seemed to have finished his trials early."

"Yeah I saw that kid earlier. But he seemed to be in a hurry for some reason. I tried to invite him into the guild seeing he completed his trial but he politely refused saying he had other plans."

"Eh… That is not like him. Did something happen, or did something go wrong in his trial." Alan replied worriedly.

"It's not the trial because he had obtained the supreme assassin class. But I heard him muttering something like ' there is still time' or something like that."

"Eh…" Alan was confused wondering what Arun was upto.

"He also left you a message. He said something very important came up so he might not be able to contact you for a while. So don't worry about him and focus on leveling up"

"What is he up to? I thought he said he did not have anything to do this week" Alan muttered to himself

" Don't worry. Why don't you try to contact him?"

Alan took his communicator and dialed Arun. But it seemed as if he wasn't picking it up. He tried again but no one responded, so he could only give up. Then he saw Arun's message

He said not to worry about him. He said to focus on leveling up and try hard to max out attributes in each tier if possible. He had to hurry up before the timer on the monument ran out.

"I'll try to track him down if you are worried." Harry said.

"Alright." Alan replied, wondering about Arun's message.

"Maybe he had his reasons for this. He won't want you to be worried like this. So cheer up" Harry tried to cheer up Alan.

Alan took a big breath and calmed down knowing worrying will not do him any good.

"So what about your trial? Tell me about it" asked Harry with an expectant gaze.

"Well…." Alan started explaining his experience undergoing the trails. Harry listened to it attentively.

"You lucky dog…. You Got that chimera. Your luck seemed to have maxed out seeing you got that one. Come lets go pick up some lottery" Harry exclaimed when he heard the details about Alan's opponent.

"Wait, what is it about?" Alan asked annoyingly.

"Ha, most of the ones I know got a chimera which chased and hunted them down. Almost 80% of those who faced it in the past failed. Only those with years of practice of maneuvering technique and those who got lucky like you passed the trial." Harry told him about the different types of chimeras.

"It seemed that he indeed had lucked out" Alan breaked out in cold sweat after he heard about the horrors of the different types of chimera that have appeared throughout the class selection trials throughout history.

"Well it is kinda rigged like this. The one you faced is the most hated chimera by those undergoing magic warrior trials. They mostly prefer the one that does close combat and chases them down."

Alan got pissed at this point. " Hey, why didn't you give me this information before? It might have been more helpful."

Harry flicked Alan's nose " haha, where is the fun in that. Furthermore, even if you had faced a different chimera, why do you think I've trained you with that highly advanced combat maneuvering technique all those years… also the chimera only shows up for your class and magic warrior classes. The things I know are the things I've heard….." Harry kept on going.

Alan was at a loss for words. He didn't know his brother was this considerate when teaching him that combat maneuvering technique. He must have taken this into consideration.

"Hehe…" Alan didn't know what to say, it was then he saw Kane walking out so Alan quickly went towards him to escape from his brother's nagging.

Kane had taken the tank warrior hybrid class. It was the class that shined on the frontline against those otherworldly beasts so this is one of the classes that the army favoured.

He asked him about his trial. It seemed his trial was very different from his one. He first had to kill an orc with insanely high hp, and in the second phase he had to endure the barrage of the horde of goblins for God knows how time.

"So what weapon did you choose?" Alan asked.

Kane with a proud face said "the halberd. I've been practicing it since childhood."

"I didn't see you using a halberd in the dungeon. Why didn't you use it" Alan asked as he recalled Kane only used a shield when he last saw them in the dungeon.

"I used it on the first day to rush to level 10. Then I took the shield to get used to the tank class"

Alan and Kane chatted for a while when they saw Ruo Si and Ann walking out.

They successfully passed the trial for Life binder and arcmage respectively. They were the enhanced version of the healer and the mage class which was included in the special class category.

Ruo Si was especially very happy. If she had not met them she would have taken a very long time to reach level 10 let alone maxing out her attributes.

Ann thinking of something spoke "Speaking of trials, remember that guy Mark from No 1 high. I heard he maxed out his attributes and changed his class on the first day itself"

Alan remembered him from the day of awakening. He had the highest attributes among the awakened.

"That dude is a brute. I once had a chance to meet him and the only thing in his mind was fight, fight and fight" replied Ruo Si.

Although he was ahead of them Alan was confident that he would catch up to him.

After everyone registered and updated their awakeners ID they went their separate ways. Alan returned home with his brother. He had to plan for the upcoming youth ranking competition.

After reaching home Harry registered him for A tier recruitment contract of the Titans guild under his name.

"We will be moving to Zone I-24 mega city. So pack up your important things. You will be staying in the guild's residence after the test."

They had to go report in the guild's branch. As one of the biggest guilds in the continent they had branches in most of the mega cities in the Asian continent.

As they live in Zone I-4 they need to go to the mega city managing this zone.
