Without thinking much, Jason raced in the direction from which he could hear the child's voice.
"Where did the child come from? He probably lives somewhere in the area, I wonder what must have happened," Jason thought.
He made sure that a swarm of wasps and a raven followed him. The voice was relatively quiet, so it took Jason a good 15 minutes to run to the place from which it was coming. He was surprised to hear the boy from such a distance.
When he reached the scene, he stopped about 3 meters from the boy. He was sitting on one of the lower branches of a tree, just below him was an animal that resembled a hybrid of a boar and a rabbit. Similar to the Lesser Eren who was killed by Jason the day before. However, this animal was much larger, as big as a small delivery van, at least 2 meters tall and 3 meters long.
"I think I already know what a Greater Eren looks like," Jason said quietly to his raven. – "Okay, let's help him somehow, but this monster doesn't look like he's a pacifist, unlike his smaller friend." – The boy looked with fear at the long fangs, resembling those of a boar, protruding from both the lower and upper jaws. The fangs were the size of kitchen knives and looked very sharp.
"We'll do this - I'll hide in a tree, and you attack the ugly guy" – he pointed to his summons – "I don't hear any objections..."
Jason moved a little closer to the boy, trying not to make too much noise. He climbed one of the branches below, but high enough that Eren could not reach him.
"Okay, attack!" – He shouted to the wasps, knowing the low offensive value of the raven and decided to leave it with him. The wasps furiously went on the attack. Eren was standing with his back to them, so he was unaware until the last moment that they were coming directly to his rump. As soon as the first wasp stinged, Eren turned around, visibly enraged.
He began to swing his snout which ended in huge fangs in all directions, one of such blows hit three of his wasps at the same time, which did not manage to dodge. Unfortunately, they could focus only on one task and did not care about their defense at all when attacking.
As soon as the onslaught eased, Eren spotted Jason and quickly identified him as his true threat. It accelerated, lowering his head at the same time and aiming at the trunk of the tree on which the Summoner was sitting - and it was a huge tree with a diameter of several meters.
Jason, frightened, instinctively took a step back, and fell off the branch he was standing on. He did not think that an animal, even of such a large size, did not have a chance to shake such a huge tree.
The boy fell, landing on his back and losing his breath in the process. Fortunately, he had kept enough sense to use his enlarge ability on his wasps. With only two left, he had enough mana to enlarge both of them.
He called the wasps to him and crawled away in such a way that the tree was between him and the opponent.
"Ekh, ekh," he coughed a few times, trying to get his breath back. "Thank god, enlarging also increases their speed," he thought and looked at the wasps that had already caught up with Eren and began to sting him all over his body. Now they were resilient enough to survive the single blows of the great boar, while their venom seemed to have an increasing effect on it.
The big boar tried to hit one of them, but it was already weakened by the effects of the venom, and wasps flying in circles were not an easy target. Their three companions were unlucky to be eliminated so easily at the beginning of the fight. The fight was as fierce as it was one-sided. The big wasps stung the enemy from time to time, they were only harmlessly wounded themselves. Thanks to the ability to enlarge them, these were not injuries that were fatal to them.
After a few minutes, Eren fell to the ground.
"You've defeated your opponent, Greater Eren, you've leveled up. You have 5 character points and one skill point, you have reached Level 4, experience 20/100" – a familiar screen appeared in front of Jason, but Jason was still trying to regain his breath.
"It was close, if I had fallen a little more unfortunate and lost consciousness, I would probably have been done for," he realized.
Jason walked over to his defeated opponent. The big Eren really impressed a 13-year-old boy, he had never seen anything like it, except maybe the fantasy or sci-fi movies he sometimes watched. The animal looked like something he knew well – the boar, with its unnaturally large hind legs like a rabbit or a kangaroo but moved on all four limbs.
His body was covered with thick brown-gray fur, which was very rough to touch, and the skin seemed thick and hard. The summoner thanked the god that his wasps had been able to pierce it, otherwise it would have been very difficult for him to defeat the enemy.
Jason walked toward the tree where a six-year-old boy was sitting. As soon as Jason started to get closer, the boy began to climb down from the branch he was sitting on. To Jason's surprise, it went very smoothly, as if he had a lot of practice in it. He was also surprised to see that he had never seen such a muscular boy at such a young age. He had clearly defined muscles in his hands, which flexed when he came down from the tree.
"Hi, my name is Firlo," he said, as soon as he came down from the tree, he had a small bow slung over his back and a quiver in which there were no more arrows. "Thank you for your help, I didn't expect to see one of them so close to the edge of the forest," he said, looking curiously at Jason.
"Hi, my name is Jason, can you tell me how you ended up in this situation?"
