Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: I Only Have 100 Days left!

Jason walked slowly into a small wooden house. Like all the other houses in the village, it was hollowed out in the trunk of a large tree, the walls were smooth and no unevenness could be seen on them.

"I wonder how they do it and what tools they use, I've never seen anything like it," Jason mused.

The house was small by the standards of very large people living in the village, but the boy found it very spacious. Right next to the entrance there was a small hall, connected to the living room, in which there was also a small corner for preparing meals, at the very end of the trunk, there was also a small bedroom, with a desk for work and a wardrobe for things. The largest part of the house was the living room, which was nicely equipped, and the house itself looked as if it was prepared to receive guests. The previous tenants could not leave it too long ago, the furniture had not yet had time to cover itself with the smallest layer of dust.

"You've been quiet so far, what do you think about all this?" Jason asked the raven sitting quietly on his shoulder.

"I agree with the village chief, you are too weak to go on a long journey, if the beasts we have encountered in the forest so far have been less dangerous, and other areas are inhabited by more dangerous creatures, then we need to work on your skills."

"Do you know anything about this world? How does the skill I have work?" – Jason asked him two questions that had been on his mind for some time.

"As for the first question, no, I don't know this place, I don't come from here, but from within you, like all other beings that you are or will be able to summon. Each of us is a part of your soul, and as you strengthen it, you will be able to summon more of us, and you will also have access to more powerful summons, though only one of them would be designated as your guide. In your case, it's me." – said the raven with undisguised pride.

"Strengthening the soul, how does it happen? Do I need to level up?"

"Yes, you have to level up, the amount of mana you have corresponds to the potential of your soul. Larger and more powerful beasts consume more mana, there are beasts that you can summon as a group – like a swarm of wasps, their number is often dictated by the level of a given skill. The last and most important thing that I have to tell you as your guide. The system has been given to you to give you a better chance of surviving in this world, it is to allow you to familiarize yourself with the basics of your skills. No one else – except Lucas – has such a system, because people learn their skills in a traditional way, from mentors, from books and in practice. Your situation is unique because you found yourself in this world very suddenly. The system is a way of helping you at the initial stage of your path, so it is not given once and for all, at this point I must inform you..."

Suddenly, a familiar interface window appeared in front of Jason:

"Your system will be deactivated in 100 days, good luck"

"What's going on? Don't tell me why 100 days? What's going on, explain it to me!!" – Jason shouted angrily, not only was he in an alien world, but the only thing that seemed to help him was to be turned off in 100 days.

"Don't worry, after this time you will not lose your skills, you will be able to continue to develop them. Only that it will happen in a natural way. I will try to explain it to you.

Currently, to gain more strength, you can spend a certain number of points and spend them on the appropriate statistics. Under normal circumstances, you would have to spend this time training or fighting your opponents. Defeating stronger and stronger opponents and the way you do it will continue to affect the development of your stats."

"Okay, what about skills?" said Jason, a little confident.

"Think of the system as a tutorial to help you take your first steps in this world. In a hundred days, you won't lose your summoning ability or your current summons. You have the ability to summon all kinds of creatures, but it depends on the ingenuity of the summoner and his power what it will be. There are ways to target the summoning ritual to a specific being, and powerful summoners can also create creatures of specific traits that they summon."

"Summoning Ritual?" –

"Yes, the summoner is one of the mage's subclasses, they also use mana, but in a different way. They summon the powers of nature that they bend to their needs, and the summoners summon creatures that help them in various ways.

At this point, the summoning ritual is performed automatically by the system. Your most important task, before the system deactivates, will be to learn how to perform the summoning ritual and channel it in a way that will allow you to summon a creature that suits your intentions, at first it will certainly not be very precise and you may not summon the creature you wanted, but as you improve your skills, it will come more and more easily to you."

"Great, let's get started right away! I don't want to be left defenseless in this world, and my wasps probably won't do me much good against more powerful enemies," Jason said urgently.

"Don't worry, summoner. As I mentioned, I am enriched by the system with the knowledge you need to develop at your initial stage in this world. Now I'm only at level two, in order to be able to give you comprehensive information about summoning after deactivating the system, I need to reach level 5."

"Fifth level before disappearing? It's unrealistic, it means that I have to gain at least 3 more levels and spend all my skill points on the ability to summon you." – Jason finally came in, depressed by this information.

"Think for a moment, don't let sadness and disappointment penetrate your soul. You've only been here for 2 days, and you've already become much stronger, 3 levels is nothing considering how fast you're developing." – the raven comforted the boy.

"Okay, let's get to work as soon as possible. What do you think I should do?"
