Amelia ended up sharing a bed with me like the previous time at the estate but Cynthia seemed to be a bit bothered by it. I can't say it's something I'd blame her for since she barely knows anything about me.
Amelia barely knows me either so I don't even understand why she shares a bed with me to begin with.
It was a peaceful night otherwise though, I can't complain. Nothing really happened, nor was there any problems with Cynthia trying to attack me or anything.
I was kind of worried about her doing that since it was quite obvious that I was a slave for the family.
The next morning had finally arrived, the sun as always was shining into the room, lighting everything up with ease. It was the best indicator that the next day was here, but not everyone appreciates the sun.
Amelia and Cynthia woke up a bit later than Artemis did, he left a note and was already down the hall.
(Just outside the Golden Apple Inn.)
People were all around me just like before so I can only imagine that someone might have the information I'm looking for. Even if it's only one or two people out of hundreds of them.
I've definitely got my work cut out for me since the chains might send a message about me personally. I'll have to come up with some sort of excuse to use when talking to people.
Artemis begins to wander the streets of Nexus in search of anyone that stands out amongst the crowds. It wasn't the easiest thing to look for since he wasn't ever outside much.
Being in an environment like this is very unfamiliar to him so it'll take a bit of practice to figure everything out.
This is going to be a long day for sure, how the hell am I supposed to figure out who to talk to? There's not much experience I can use from my previous life because I wasn't around people all that much.
My job didn't require it, I just worked on a computer for the company.
"You seem lost young pup." A voice says from behind him.
The person speaking sounds like a man but his voice isn't too deep and the way he spoke sounded kind of elegant perhaps?
He turns around to be greeted by a man wearing silver armor with a red cape going down behind him, his long green hair that appeared to go past his shoulders, looked as if it was just washed and then straightened, his stare gave away the green eyes he had as well.
I definitely wasn't expecting the sight before me, it was kind of shocking to see someone so dressed up. Armor is common in this world but he has a bit of a royal look to him.
But maybe I just think that because of my lack of encounters with people in the world. "I'm not lost, just looking for information I guess you could say." Artemis replies while keeping a serious tone.
I can't be nervous or give any sort of suspicion since I don't know who I can trust or not yet. This guy doesn't look like he'll be a problem yet so maybe I could try asking him a question about the group.
A look man seems interested in what Artemis is looking for. "Perhaps I could help. Give me one detail worth talking about." The Man says before waiting.
"Grim reaper insignia." Artemis responds with a serious expression on his face.
The Man grabs his arm and drags him out of the open crowd, taking him somewhere more discreet. Eventually they had reached an old looking wine storage room. He quietly closed the door and gestures for Artemis to take a seat.
"So you obviously know of them." Artemis says while taking a seat.
I didn't expect to run into someone who actually knows of them but obviously there's a reason he dragged me here.
The Man takes a seat and then looks up at Artemis. "Yes. They are a group that's been on the watchlist for a long time. Kings are constantly sending people to find them so we can get rid of them." The Man responds with a bit of a concerning look.
I'm at least happy that they are known and that the kings are trying to deal with them but it doesn't change what happened. They killed my family and Amelia's family too.
He seems to be in thought before he speaks once again. "What exactly is your interest in them anyway?" The Man asks with a curious tone.
"Listen, I don't know who you are so I don't know if I should even share that." Artemis answers with a look of distrust on his face.
I need to play everything smart if I want to avoid getting killed without anything to gain, even if I can come back, I'd rather not use it if I don't need to.
"You may call me Shimada Kazuki. Shimada works just fine, especially if we're going to o trust each other. But I don't know you either." Shimada says.
"Artemis. I apologize, it's just a safety thing." Artemis replies with more of a sincere tone.
A slight smile forms on Shimada's face before he stands up. "I still need to know your intent, why do you want to know more about them?" Shimada questions.
This right here is exactly what I knew he'd ask but maybe it's better to be up front about it now so I don't have to get myself out of a lie later. I don't necessarily have to say I'm a slave or anything but I could explain that my family and a friend's family were killed by them.
Yes, that will work.
"My family was killed by them and so was my friend's family. It's not been easy but I know I can't just let that pass by." Artemis responds with more of a calm tone to his voice.
