Luna's voice crackled through their right gloves:
"Haruto, Kanna, my holy barrier only has eleven minutes left. I can't deploy another one because I've run out of mystic energy. You must defeat the remaining forty-nine Chaos Beast Maelghors and their Chaos Beast Boss, Morthamraga, before my barrier time runs out. Fighting those Maelghors shouldn't be difficult for you."
"Are you ready?" Luna asked, her voice ringing through their gloves.
"Yes, Luna. Let's go, Haruto-kun."
"Yes, Kanna-chan."
Without another word, they dashed forward, soaring ahead at incredible speed. Side by side, Haruto stayed on the left while Kanna flew on the right.
Upon crossing the barrier, Haruto broke left, arcing wide to keep distance, while Kanna soared right, keeping her trajectory clean and away from her partner. Though this was their first real battle together, their coordination was seamless.
From the left side of the battlefield, Haruto was immediately met by two towering Maelghors rushing straight at him. While still dashing to the left in midair, he shifted his Scythe to his right side, spun his body 180 degrees to the left and...
VHHHOOOOMM...!
SHLUUURRK..! KRRSHHHH...!!
He sliced both monsters in a single, horizontal sweep from right to left with ease. They turned into blazing embers and dust after being sliced in half. A horrifying echo resounded the moment before the Scythe struck both creatures.
Kanna, who flew toward the right side of the barrier, headed straight for a giant worm-like monster. Once she was close, she spun her body 360 degrees counterclockwise.
Time seemed to slow as she raised her right leg and landed the top of the fiery boot on the monster's head…
FWHOOSSHH..!
DWWAAAGGG..!!
She kicked it with tremendous force, sending it flying dozens of meters back and crashing into two other monsters in its path.
Suddenly, a woman's voice—like a system notification—echoed from her left glove:
"EXPLODE!"
In the next second..
BOOMMMM...!!
The spot where her kick landed exploded. Still tumbling through the air, all three monsters had no time to react. The blast zone erupted in flame and shockwave, vaporizing them into embers and dust that scattered into the wind.
"Whaa, that voice..?" Kanna gasped, excited.
"Did I just trigger Madousei's passive skill, Explosive Impact..? Haha, this is awesome..!"
"So, that's how it works. I understand now." Kanna finally realized how her Madousei's Explosive Impact could be triggered.

Haruto moved his Scythe to his right side, with its blade facing right. Then, with one powerful stomp, he shot forward by several meters. No more than a meter and a half above the ground, he twisted the Scythe's handle so that its blade pointed downward. Still hurtling toward the giant monster in front of him, he swung his weapon upward and...

KHRUSSHH..! SKLOOOSH..!
With an uppercut-like motion while performing a backflip, he sliced two monsters from bottom to top on his path, both turning into embers and dust within seconds. The momentum of that backflip, coupled with the heft of his large Scythe, propelled him higher into the air—about five meters above the ground.
He then executed another backflip, swinging his huge Scythe vertically from below to above, allowing himself to hover slightly longer and glide forward a bit more.
In the process, he managed to pass by several monsters in midair. After finishing the second backflip, he twisted halfway around horizontally so he now faced the opposite direction. Still airborne, he raised the scythe high overhead, its blade pointing down, then dove rapidly and brought it crashing down...

KRRSHHHH..! CRAAK..!
He slashed a monster below him from behind, cleaving it from top to bottom until his Scythe embedded itself into the ground. The sound of its splitting skull was unmistakable. Before the monster completely dispersed into embers, in the very next instant, Haruto—still gripping the scythe's handle with his right hand—lunged forward a few meters. As he moved, he yanked the blade free, slicing through the dirt as effortlessly as a knife through butter.
With the blade now angled upward, he lifted the scythe using only his right hand, then swung it 180 degrees vertically, from behind up over his head. A purple, crescent-shaped trail followed the arc. The moment the scythe reached overhead, Haruto executed a graceful forward flip and...
VHHOOMMM..
SKLOOOSH..! CRAAK..!
He cleaved one monster vertically from top to bottom, cutting right through it. But his attack wasn't over yet. His onslaught continued. Leveraging the scythe's hefty momentum, he performed two more forward flips, keeping the weapon raised with both hands. The blade, facing forward, completed a 720-degree vertical spin, leaving a lingering purple slash in midair until...
VHHHOOOOM..!
KRRSHHHH..! KRRSHHHH..! KRRSHHHH..!
The scythe's blade ripped through three monsters in its path. Haruto then landed gracefully on the ground. The three newly sliced monsters ended up behind him, crumbling into embers and dust a few seconds later.
SCCRREEEAAKK..! SSCCRREEEAA..!!
Seeing several monsters approaching from all directions around him, Haruto planted his left foot firmly while swinging his right leg forward from behind, as if performing a sweeping motion from right to left. At the same time, he spun his body counterclockwise.
Holding the scythe with both hands stretched in front of him, he used its weight to spin horizontally to the left. With his left foot as the pivot, his right leg hovering just above the ground, and the blade facing left, he spun fiercely like a tornado, slashing everything around him.
WHHOOMMM..!
KRRSHHHH..! SKLOOOSH..! KRRSHHHH..!

Six monsters were brutally struck by his spinning slash. But the attack wasn't over yet. Still riding the momentum of the final rotation, Haruto launched his finishing blow—a diagonal slash from upper right to lower left—cutting down another monster that had escaped the initial sweep.
All seven of the giant worm-like monsters surrounding him burst into embers, carried away by the wind, as Haruto completed his deadly spinning strike.

"THEY ALL VANISHED IN AN INSTANT..?!!"
People watching from inside shouted in disbelief at Haruto's devastating spinning scythe technique.
"HHHAAHH..!!"
Others flinched and cried out in shock.
"He just took down those massive monsters earlier too, spinning through the air like some kind of purple wheel of blades. That was incredible."
"Kyaaa..! He's so cool.."
Several young women, dazzled by Haruto's elegant and lethal movements, couldn't take their eyes off the dance of his scythe across the battlefield.
Aya Shina from Tokyo TV, drenched in sweat from the intense heat of Kanna's flames, grabbed her cameraman by the collar.
"ZOOM IN AT THE YOUNG MAN, KENJI! ZOOM IN! THE WHOLE WORLD NEEDS TO SEE THE VIOLET REAPER!"
Kenji, her cameraman, barely able to keep his hands steady, shouted back,
"I am zoomed in! But he's too fast! I can't keep up with him!"

Back to the Main Parking Lot – From Haruto's Perspective
Spotting a monster rushing at him, Haruto angled his blade downward. With a motion like a spear thrust, he struck the monster in front of him using the blunt upper edge of the scythe's massive head, lifting and launching it several meters into the air.
He leapt upward, chasing the monster he had hurled skyward, and positioned the scythe above the left side of his head. Spinning his body to the right...
KRRSHHHH..!
He slashed the monster in midair with a brutal aerial combo attack. Then, using the same momentum, he rotated horizontally again to the right. As he descended, his scythe swung once more from left to right and...
VHHOOMMM..
KRAASHHHH..!
He slashed another monster below him with a diagonal strike—from upper left to lower right—before landing gracefully in a kneeling pose. The swing of Haruto's scythe ended behind the right side of his body.
In the next moment, the two monsters—one above and one in front of him—crumbled into ash and embers.
Haruto then jumped back a fair distance to assess the situation and plan his next move.
"Amazing.. I only think about the movements I want to perform, and my body follows them effortlessly, as if I've been training with this weapon for decades. This Dragon Kaiser Scythe is truly incredible.."
He whispered to himself, glancing at his palm and weapon in astonishment.
"And it seems like all the attacks I've done so far have just been basic moves. I haven't even used any skills yet. But… how do I activate a skill?"
Haruto muttered, thinking how to use the first skill he acquired.
Suddenly, a woman's voice—calm and system-like—echoed through the air:
"New skills have been unlocked."
Several translucent notification windows appeared before him, displaying the names of newly acquired skills.
"Hhmmnn... looks like I got a few more new skills. But how do I use them?"
He murmured, touching his chin thoughtfully. Then, someone came to mind.
"Luna.. Luna.. can you hear me? Luna..?"
Haruto tried reaching out to Luna, raising his right glove near his face as he called out to her.

Kanna soared forward at full speed, dashing toward another giant monster. With her right leg extended outward to the side, she launched a flying kick and...

She struck the giant worm-like monster in the head, sending it crashing into the right side of the barrier. But instead of exploding, it vanished instantly into embers and ash.
Three Chaos Beasts began advancing toward her from the front—charging together in sync. As they rushed at her with jaws wide open, Kanna waited until they closed in, then leapt high into the air to evade them. She flipped forward and stretched both legs out in midair into a full split. With explosive force, she swung her split legs downward and shouted, "HEEAAAA..!"
WOOSSHHH..!
TWUAACCKK..!! DWAAACCKK..!!
Her double axe kick, delivered from above using both heels, crushed down onto the heads of two monsters at the same time, slamming them into the ground with a thunderous impact.
But, the assault wasn't over.
In a blink, with stunning speed, Kanna raised her left leg high, then spun clockwise, and brought down the top of her left foot on the head of the third monster to her right.
DWWAAACCK..!!
A powerful diagonal roundhouse kick downward with the instep of her left foot. A fiery arc trailed behind her strike, glowing brightly as her foot smashed into the monster's skull with devastating force.
The creature's head hit the ground with a bone-cracking crash, scattering dirt and debris in every direction. All three of the worm-like Chaos Beasts, now buried into the earth, dissolved into dust and cinders seconds later.
"KANNA, LOOK OUT..!"
Luna's voice suddenly shouted in warning.
Without warning, another monster lunged from the left. Its massive jaws wide open, ready to devour her whole.
Reacting in an instant, Kanna threw her upper body backward, arching her spine as she launched herself into a backbend.
Time seemed to slow…
Just barely, she escaped death as the beast's mouth snapped shut with a violent chomp just a few inches above her chest.
Then, in a breathtaking split second…
THUUUDD..! CRAACCKK..!
She slammed her left foot into the monster's abdomen with shattering force—almost piercing through. Without losing any momentum, she immediately whipped her right leg upward and…
FWHOOSSHH..!
DWAAACCKK..!!
—a brutal overhead kick, sharp and spectacular.
The impact of the second blow blasted the giant creature backward with overwhelming power, sending it flying dozens of meters past her.
The airborne monster crashed into another Chaos Beast directly behind it, and the moment it made contact...
A voice rang out from Kanna's glove, like a system announcement:
"EXPLODE!"
KABOOOMMMM..!!
The spot where her kick had landed ignited into a massive explosion. A burst of flames and shockwaves engulfed both creatures, vaporizing them into blazing embers and scattering dust into the sky.

Everyone inside the building flinched, stunned by the spectacle of Kanna's kicks.
"SHE SENT THOSE GIANT MONSTERS FLYING WITH JUST HER KICKS?!"
"DID SHE JUST DO AN OVERHEAD KICK?!" shouted a young man.
"THAT WAS A BICYCLE KICK..!!!" yelled a group of soccer-obsessed college students.
"S-she even performed double axe kicks in midair… Is she even human?" muttered a college martial artist club sensei, unable to believe what he'd just witnessed.
"FLAME GODDESSSS..!! So beautiful, yet so strong..!" cried a crowd of men, mesmerized by Kanna's breathtaking kicking techniques.
Clutching the window frame, a male student muttered in pure disbelief,
"This is like a shounen anime fight... but real… but REAL!!"
A female lecturer, clutching her phone as she live-streamed, screamed with tears streaming down her face,
"I don't care if this is magic, science, or the gods themselves coming to help us—THEY ARE SAVING US!!"
Keiko Honda from Metro TV screamed at her cameraman, Kojiro, while frantically pointing toward the blazing young heroine on the battlefield.
"ZOOM IN ON THE FLAMING GIRL, KOJIRO! THERE—OVER THERE! NO—THERE NOW! AAHHH..!! SHE'S TOO FAST..!!"
Kojiro, the Metro TV cameraman, panned his camera over and over again frantically, struggling to keep up.
"I'm following her, but she's so fast, I can barely track her properly!"

Inside The Conference Room 2nd Floor
All eyes locked onto the massive projection screen displaying camera drone feeds from multiple angles of the battlefield.
One of the top military officers gasped, muttering,
"This isn't just instinct… These two are fighting like they've trained for decades… but it's their first battle…"
Colonel Hayato, gripping the back of his chair, exclaimed,
"T-they're completely obliterating the minions! Are they using advanced combat algorithms?! Superhuman reflex implants?! WHAT ARE WE LOOKING AT?!"

Four Chaos Beasts Maelghors weren't going to wait. They charged at her together, tightly packed in formation.
Kanna braced herself and dashed to the left, narrowly avoiding their synchronized devour attack. As soon as she dodged, she spun around and surged back toward them, right as they were still closing their jaws on empty air. She raised her left leg and slammed the top of her foot into the nearest monster on the left and…
FWHOOSSHH..!
DUAAACCKKK..!!
A fierce roundhouse kick with her left leg smashed into the monster's head, sending it flying dozens of meters. It crashed into three other monsters lined up to the right, dragging all of them along as it tumbled through the air.
"EXPLODE!" the system voice called out.
A second later...
BOOOMMM..!!
Still airborne, the monster Kanna had kicked violently detonated, pulling the other three into the explosion. The blast reduced all four to ash and embers in an instant.
Not waiting to be attacked again, Kanna launched herself forward toward another group of monsters. She raised her right leg and kicked the midsection of one monster with the tip of her boot. Her foot stayed planted against the monster's body, and with strong unnatural force, she lifted it into the air.
As she ascended, four monsters lunged at her from all sides. But she skillfully dodged them midair, causing their devour attacks to miss completely and crash into each other before falling to the ground in a tangled heap.
Still in the sky, the monster Kanna had lifted remained stuck to her boot. She pressed her right foot against its underside and pushed it even higher—holding the beast overhead with her leg extended upward, her full weight balanced through the sole of her boot.
Her body performed a perfect upward split midair—balancing a giant monster above her, using only her right leg.
Then, with a powerful motion, Kanna slammed her leg downward like an aerial hammer strike toward the earth. She followed through with both legs, pressing her boots firmly against the monster's body and riding it downward like a meteor.
From a height of over twenty meters, the beast plummeted at incredible speed—driven by Kanna's force straight into the center of the four monsters that had just crashed into each other. They looked up in horror and, in the next instant...
FWHOOOOSSSS..!
DWAAACCCKK..! BAAAMMM..! DEERRRKKK..!!
"EXPLODE!" came the voice of the system again.
KABOOOMMM..!!
Kanna rocketed upward with amazing speed just as the monster she slammed down hit the ground. The impact was thunderous—followed by a massive explosion that vaporized all five monsters into flames and drifting ash.

Inside the Main Building
Everyone who witnessed Kanna lift a massive monster into the air with nothing but her leg was left stunned and speechless.
"WITH JUST ONE LEG..?!!" dozens of voices shouted at once.
A group of female college students gasped in disbelief:
"She lifted that giant monster into the sky with just one leg!"
"She didn't even use her hands!"
"And then she dropped it like a meteor!"
Others shouted in amazement:
"How strong are her legs?! That's insane!"
"If that leg kicked a normal human... they'd be…"
"She's awesome! FLAME GIRL!!"
"She kicks them and they explode..! What kind of power is that...?!"
From front lobby, Sergeant Hasegawa gripping his rifle tightly, face pale,
"W-what the hell am I watching? That's not human movement… that's god-level combat."

Kanna flew back, hovering slightly above the ground as she caught her breath. She remained still for a moment, floating just inches from the surface.
This is cool.. I feel like I've been training in leg-based martial arts for decades—and it's like I've practiced using these flame boots countless times already.. she thought.
But maybe I should try using that new skill I just acquired before..
Suddenly, multiple notification screens appeared before her, listing the names of new skills she had unlocked. Her smile grew wider as she read all of them one by one.
"Whoa, I got even more new skills..! Hahaha.. Just like the status screen said—skills are acquired by performing specific movements during physical combat." Kanna chuckled. She was enjoying this battle as if it were her personal playground.
"But... how do I even use them?"
"Uugghh..! I have no idea." She frowned slightly, frustrated that she had so many skills, but no clue how to activate them.
Looking behind her, she spotted Haruto.
"Ah, there's Haruto-kun. Maybe he knows."
"Ooii, Haruto-kuuunn..!" Kanna called out as she flew toward him.
Haruto was already some distance away from the remaining monsters, with Morthamraga towering at the very back of their formation.
"Haruto, Kanna, can you hear me?" Luna's voice came through their right gloves.
"Yes, Luna. We're here. I wanted to ask something too. About the skills..." Haruto began, but Luna interrupted.
"Yes, yes, I know you both want to know how to activate your Sacred Madougu skills. It's simple—but there are a few things you need to understand first."
"The Sacred Madougu adapts and resonates with your intent. It reacts based on what you want to do: whether it's attacking, defending, dodging or something else. Right now, the skills you've unlocked fall into two categories: Madoukai and Madousei.Madousei are passive skills that activate under certain conditions, while Madoukai are active skillsyou'll need to trigger them yourself."
"Now listen closely. To use a Madoukai, think clearly about which skill you want to activate, then say the word 'Madoukai' first, followed by the name of the skill. After that, everything else will come to you instinctively in that moment. Got it?"
"Yes, Luna. We understand." Haruto nodded firmly.
"Thank you, Luna. We'll try using our skills now." Kanna added with a confident smile.
The two of them then moved into position, Haruto to the left, Kanna to the right, just like before. Each putting some distance between themselves in preparation for their next skill-based attacks.
Twelve Maelghor monsters still remained: five advancing toward Haruto from the left, and seven charging at Kanna from the right.
As Haruto fixed his gaze on the monsters charging toward him, he said it out loud…
"MADOUKAI..!"
