Kanna's Perspective
At this point, it wasn't just Kanna. Everyone was unaware of something critical.
The giant beast wasn't a foolish creature. It had prepared.
Morthamraga had already begun chanting its healing incantation just moments before Kanna tore open its mouth. The skill had activated just in time, the restoration triggering right when Kanna thought she was delivering the final strike.
Its wounds—including massive, gaping, near-fatal—began to close. Flesh reconnected. Scales reformed. Bones knit back together.
The moment Kanna finished her Skyward Spiral and began to slow her movements in front of its massive head, Morthamraga's healing was already done.
Though its acid tentacles had not yet regenerated, the two spear-tipped ones had recovered first… just in time.

A terrifying turning point!
"KANNA!! LOOK OUT!! GET BAAACK..!!" Luna's voice was frantic with panic.
"KANNA-CHAAN!! GET AWAAAY..!!" Haruto's desperate scream tore through Madou Comms.
But… it was too late.
"Huh..? Wh-what?!" she gasped, paralyzed in shock as the two spear-tentacles lunged at her from both sides.
Her flame shields were already at their durability limit.
They shattered instantly.
TRUSSHHHH..!
SREETT.. SREETT..!
SLASH.. SLASH..!
JLEEBB..!! JLEEBB..!!
Like twin bladed whips, the spear tentacles struck mercilessly—slashing her from all directions, even across her head.
"Aaagghh..! Kyaaahhh..!!" Kanna screamed in agony as her body was repeatedly sliced, shredded without mercy.
The tentacles didn't stop. They pierced through her abdomen and left thigh, then again and again through her shoulder, her chest, her waist. Blood burst and poured from every wound.
"Aaarrgghh..!! GAAAHHAAGGG..!" Kanna vomited blood, her body drenched in crimson, her strength rapidly draining.
"KANNA-CHAAANN..!! MORTHAMRAGAAA..!! YOU BASTARD, DAMN YOUUU..!" Haruto roared from afar, rage exploding in his voice.
"KANNAA!! Oh my God..!" Luna's voice cracked with terror.
"I'm coming for you. Hang in there, Kanna-chan!" Haruto shouted through the Comms.

Haruto's Perspective
"Ha.. ru.. to.. kun.." Kanna's head turned weakly in his direction, her blood-soaked body began to fall from the sky.
Haruto didn't waste a second.
"Madoukai!"
"VIOLET BOARD!" [Mystic Energy: 20%]
Below her, Morthamraga's massive mouth opened—wide and waiting. Dozens of razor-sharp teeth lined its dark maw. It positioned itself directly beneath her, ready to devour her whole.
Launching himself on the Violet Board, Haruto surged to the left side of the giant beast's head. In the next second, Haruto shouted again to activate another skill:
"Madoukai!"
"VIOLET HOOK!" [Mystic Energy: 15%]
He shot his left hand forward, aiming the Violet Hook straight at Kanna before he fired the purple tether and shouted the command:
"PULL..!!" to quickly pull her.
Time slowed as Morthamraga's jaw snapped shut just inches below Kanna's dangling feet. In that split second, Haruto yanked her away from death.
Just barely. If he had been a second later, she would've been gone.
He placed his scythe on the board and caught Kanna in both arms—holding her tightly in a princess carry. Without pause, he flew away from the monster, retreating toward the edge of the barrier near the university's main building.
Can't let them get away, the beast leapt forward with terrifying speed, closing the distance instantly. A monstrous shadow fell over them from above...
BBRRUUAAAKK..!!
The boss monster crashed down from the sky, smashing Haruto mid-flight with a massive Stomp. The force knocked him off balance—Kanna slipped from his arms.
"Aaarrgghh..!!" Haruto grunted in pain as both he and Kanna were sent tumbling to the ground.
Rolling across the dirt, Haruto scrambled to his feet and sprinted toward his scythe.
But then…
A massive shadow loomed over him.
DHAAAKK..!
He raised his scythe just in time to block a crushing tail strike from above. The ground cracked beneath him. Morthamraga lifted its tail again and brought it down harder.
"The tail... it's too heavy... I can't.. hold it… AAAGHHH..!!" Haruto shouted, dropping to one knee, straining with all his strength to keep the scythe raised against its massive tail pressing down on him.
While the tail pinned him down from above, Morthamraga twisted its upper body—bringing its head close. Then, its two spear-tentacles reared back...
"HARUTO!! MOVE OUT!! GET OUT OF THERE..!!" Luna screamed through Madou Comms.
But Haruto couldn't move...
JLEEESSHH..! JLEEEBBSSHH..!
The twin tentacles stabbed him directly through the chest and abdomen. Blood erupted from both wounds. But Morthamraga didn't stop.
Its tail smacked Haruto upward like a ragdoll.
And while he was airborne, the tentacles stabbed again—from the side, through his ribs and into his back.
"Aaaarrggghhh..!!" Haruto cried out, the pain unlike anything he'd ever felt.
"Haru… to…kun… NOOO..!" Kanna screamed, her voice breaking into sobs as she lay on the ground, bloodied and barely able to move.
But deep inside—she knew. The battle isn't over yet. It's not the time to cry..
"Gaahhaaggghh..." Haruto coughed up blood, his limbs trembling, his strength fading fast.
Then, with one final blow, Morthamraga's tail swatted Haruto midair like an insect. His body spun wildly through the sky.
But even in that moment—he saw an opening. His last chance.
Through blurry vision and a failing body, he raised his voice:
"Madou..kai.."
"Abyssal Blade!" [Mystic Energy: 0%]
Using the momentum of the tail strike, he twisted midair and swung his scythe horizontally from right to left, toward the beast's exposed torso.
VHHOOMMM..
KRASSSSHH.. ! SLLEESSHHH..!
(Fatal, 1 Hit) [5108 damage]
A massive crescent of violet energy erupted from the blade, roaring through the air and slicing through Morthamraga's midsection.
The creature's enormous body split in two—top and bottom—severed in a clean, devastating arc.
"GZZRAAARRGH..!!" Morthamraga let out a horrifying, guttural roar as it felt its body torn apart.
And then…
Kanna Fujita, with the last remnants of her strength, prepared to unleash her final move. Lying on the ground, broken and bleeding, she whispered:
"Madoukai.."
"Burning Line!" [Mystic Energy: 5%]
Still lying down, she twisted her body slightly and kicked her right leg upward—aimed directly at the upper half of Morthamraga. From the sole of her boot, a blazing strip of fire shot out in a perfectly straight line and…
BWEEERRHHH..!!
(Fatal, 3 Hits) [4787 damage]
The burning trail reached the monster's upper torso within seconds. It ignited on contact, engulfing the beast in an intense, roaring blaze as it continued forward until the fire line reached its maximum range and vanished.
"RRUUVAAKH..!!" Morthamraga let out a deep, inhuman scream—different from before. Its tone was lower.
Its body, already cleaved in two, now blackened and charred, collapsed backward with a thunderous crash. All four of its tentacles burned away as it writhed in pain. The giant beast was dying, with only a few Life Points remaining.
Haruto fell moments later, crashing to the ground and rolling violently before his back slammed into a jagged rock protruding from the earth.
His scythe flew from his grasp.
"GAAHHAAGGHH..!!" Haruto vomited blood once more, his body limp and motionless as he collapsed, face down.
"I can't... lose now... It hurts... so much... Aaaarghh..!" Haruto groaned as he tried to push himself up from a prone position.
But his body wouldn't move.
Blood poured from every deep wound across his body. The impalements, the slams, the crushing tail—everything had left him in tatters.
"I think... several of my bones and ribs are broken… AAARGHH..!!" he cried out in pain but refused to fall unconscious. With great effort, he managed to sit up and lean his back against the large rock. His breathing was ragged, shallow.
As he looked left and right, searching for his scythe, he spotted Kanna just a few meters away, lying to his right.
She lay limp on the ground, her breathing rapid, blood flowing from countless wounds. Her clothes were torn, shredded, and soaked in red. She didn't move.
"Kanna... chan... stay with me... we... we have to…"
His voice gave out before he could finish. His own clothing was just as shredded. Blood streamed from his body like a broken dam.
"Haru...to...kun..." Kanna whispered weakly, barely conscious. Her voice was faint and her body was failing.

Its massive body twitched, then slowly started to rise again. The creature opened its enormous mouth—and uttered more words in its incomprehensible, guttural tongue:
"Grax Ux: Vruul Vokh..!" Another dark chant for a skill activation.
A glowing mystic circle appeared above its head, radiating light downward over its body. The glow intensified, and as it faded, Morthamraga's lower half regenerated completely—returning to its full size. Its four massive tentacles reformed.
The burns and charred wounds all over its body vanished, healed completely as if time were reversed.

Damn it… It healed again. That much?!
Is this… where it ends?..
Haruto thought in despair, his faint hope extinguished by sheer dread.
I can't move anymore. Haruto-kun... I'm sorry. I'm sorry, everyone...
Kanna could only think. Her mind already slipping toward surrender.
It felt hopeless…
"Haruto, Kanna, oh my God! Don't try to speak, its okay. Just listen. We're out of time!" Luna's voice crackled urgently through the Madou Comms.
"My Absolute Holy Barrier will disappear in fifteen seconds. You must find a way to defeat it right now. Check your status screens—there might be something there."
After a pause, Luna added quickly,
"Even if you can't move, don't worry. To open your Status Screen, all you need to do is focus your mind and think: 'Open Status Screen'. It will appear."
Her voice sharpened, laced with tension.
"Listen—Morthamraga just finished a massive recovery. Once my barrier is gone, it will either summon the third wave... or attack everything in its path—including both of you. Either way, it's catastrophic. Tokyo is at stake. The lives of its people are in your hands. I believe in you."
Then the transmission cut off.

A few moments later, two Absolute Holy Barriers shimmered faintly, flickering.
And then disappeared completely.
Morthamraga, with most of its LP regenerated, stood tall—towering and triumphant. As if to claim his victory, the monster let out a bone-chilling shriek:
SSHHRRIIEEEEAAAKKKHHH..!!
The sound echoed like a siren of death—shaking the earth and tearing through the wind. Then, slowly, it began to move—marching forward toward the helpless bodies of Haruto and Kanna.
With the barrier gone, the city was now completely exposed. If the boss monster moved beyond this battlefield, there would be no stopping the destruction. Everything would be at risk.
Haruto and Kanna couldn't move. Not even to lift their arms. Even turning their heads took effort. But with what strength remained, they did exactly what Luna said.
They focused—and in their minds, whispered:
Open Status Screen..
And then the holographic displays blinked into view before their eyes. Several new Madoukai skill notifications appeared. But one of them stood out.
A notification they had never seen before:

Even though they couldn't speak, they didn't need words.
In that one glance—they both understood.

If we fall now... this city will be next. And Haruto-kun...
I won't let that happen..
Kanna clenched her eyes shut.
They both gave the smallest of nods—barely perceptible.
Then, through weak, trembling breaths.
"Madou…" Haruto whispered first.
"Ma… dou…" Kanna followed, her voice cracking from pain and exhaustion.
And as if someone gave a silent signal, they gathered the last sliver of strength within their battered bodies:
"TRANSCEND..!!"
They shouted the word together.
This was their final act. Their last hope.
Whatever happened next—they gave it everything.
Their bodies went limp, collapsing completely.
They lay there, motionless. Barely breathing.

Inside The Conference Room 2nd Floor
Everyone watched in silent despair as Haruto and Kanna lay motionless across multiple monitors displaying drone feed camera angles.
Some of the women in the room had already broken into sobs, their eyes brimming with tears at the sight of their battered, blood-soaked bodies.
On the Astral Examiner Device, their status was grim.

"Th-th-they're dying… they're not moving anymore. There's so much blood. Oh God… are they already dead?" Vice Admiral Yui Okada whispered, covering her mouth, tears falling down her cheeks.
"They're not dead. Not yet." said Miyuki Saegusa, head of the covert organization The Mirage, her voice calm but heavy. "They're still alive… but they've lost too much blood, and their bodies are shutting down. Their condition kept falling."
"Is this the end of Tokyo? Is there truly no one left who can fight that monster..?" Lieutenant Jun Mizuhara asked, panic rising in his voice.
BRRAAAKKK..!!
"That goddamn monster just regenerated again WITH MASSIVE HEALING! DAMN IT ALL!!" Chief of Police Akira Oda shouted, slamming his hand on the table in fury.
"General Victor, Governor Saeki… now that Luna's barrier has disappeared, we have no choice—we must begin evacuating the citizens of Tokyo. Every second counts. What's your order, General? Governor?" Colonel Hayato urged, his voice trembling with urgency.
"Colonel Hayato... we also need to save them. Haruto and Kanna. Do you have anyone fast enough? Anyone strong enough to reach them?" General Victor clenched his fist, anger and emotion boiling beneath the surface. But he forced himself to remain composed.
"EVERYONE, CALM DOWN..!!"
Luna's voice rang out like a thunderclap across the room. "We must believe in them. Don't give up your hope. Listen, THEY HAVEN'T LOST YET..!"
"Watch... and witness it for yourselves." she added.
All eyes turned to the screens from multiple drone feeds that showing the bodies of Haruto and Kanna lying limp on the ground.
And then Luna spoke again, her voice filled with quiet certainty:
"In their most critical moments... everything would be decided."

Glowing blue mystic circles slowly began to form beneath both Haruto and Kanna who were still lying at death's edge. From each circle, radiant azure light slowly surged upward—not in narrow vertical columns, but expanding outward, in a wide radial bloom.
The light spread in all directions, creating a circular sacred aura—as if fending off the presence of the death reaper who's ready to claim their souls.
Morthamraga, who had been crawling toward Haruto and Kanna with arrogant dominance, suddenly halted, as if sensing a rising threat. The growing surge of mystic power around both of them made even this monstrous Chaos Beast Boss hesitated to move forward.
