Chapter 9 - Big Sis Aurora, The Cold Beauty

Chapter 9: Big Sis Aurora, The Cold Beauty

After reaching the location, Seraphine looked outside the window to see a house similar to others in the neighborhood. It was a decent-sized house with iron fencing around it and metal gates that led inside to the garden.

Then there was the house itself, which was a two-story luxurious villa. It was quite big. By the size of it, it seemed he and his aunt weren't the only ones who lived there.

'I remember last night he was repeating a name in his breakdown. What was it? Lyn, that was it.'

She didn't believe he had a girlfriend as he wouldn't have done those things with her, and it seemed it was his first time too.

Still, that was the question—who was Lyn who had hurt her Kael? She knew if she came across her, they might have a confrontation, but not in front of him as she didn't want him to think she was too violent.

But there was one more thing. There was a strange feeling she was getting since she came across his house. She couldn't put a finger on what it was, but it felt like she had experienced it before and she didn't like this feeling.

Kael had a bright expression on his face seeing his home again. He looked at Seraphine for a moment, who had stopped the car outside.

"I think I can go on from here on my own."

Seraphine was having this strange feeling, but she still couldn't pass up on this opportunity to meet his family. She believed they would like her to bring him safely back. That was some points she couldn't give up on.

"No Kael, I would like to accompany you. It would be much easier to explain things then."

He stared at her for a moment. She did help him quite a bit and didn't attack him, which he was most worried about when he was alone with her, so he didn't mind bringing her along. But he didn't know what their relationship might be now. She was not just a friend.

They had done such things, and what he feared was her introducing herself as his girlfriend. He didn't want that to happen now, especially knowing he was going to be in big trouble when they found out he had awakened two talents.

He didn't want to drag Sera into this, especially since this could attract the attention of many powerful women, organizations, churches, and more importantly the Hunter Federation—the most dangerous of all.

"Alright, you can come with me, but you have to promise you won't act weird in front of my Aunt Sel, and you are not my girlfriend. You can introduce yourself as my friend, alright?"

"If not, I am not taking you with me." his voice stern while telling her these things.

He did think she deserved the right to be called friend.

"Hehe, don't worry, I am not an idiot. I would behave well. I am fine being called a friend for now."

After hearing her response, he still felt skeptical, but he trusted her for now. He took out his phone and sent a message to his aunt that he was outside. A few seconds later, the gate opened itself.

Seraphine, who was driving inside the gates, felt her hands start to shake. It was fear. She had sensed it only because she had experienced something like this before. It was quite different from before, but even when everything looked the same, it was somehow different.

The pressure she was feeling and the sensation of being watched terrified her. She glanced at Kael beside her, who had no reaction at all.

'What the hell was happening?'

After she parked the car and both of them stepped outside, the feeling of dread was even stronger than before.

'This feeling.'

'It's similar to how I felt when I met Mother.'

She now knew there was a powerful hunter inside the house, possibly an SS rank hunter like her mother—the absolute pinnacle of the world.

'Hell, I didn't sign up for this.'

'I had to behave well, or else I won't walk out of here alive.'

She looked at Kael, who was leading her toward the front door. She would have wrapped her arms around him usually, but not anymore. She didn't want the terrifying woman inside to get upset somehow.

'Damn! If he had told me that his family had an SS rank hunter, I wouldn't have been so daring before.'

But did she regret the choices she had made before? She didn't. Her approach could have been different, but she still would have liked him and tried to get him to become her boyfriend.

She wanted to tell Kael that he shouldn't mention how she had coerced him to get him to kiss her, and what she had done inside the car too.

But she knew if she tried now, it would be like digging her own grave. Whoever was watching her would know everything. She just hoped Kael didn't mention those things.

Otherwise, the only way to get out of there alive would be to use her mother's name, which she hated doing.

Kael noticed how Sera looked different. She looked nervous and anxious. Her breathing was also unstable, different from how she acted before.

'Is she so nervous and anxious to meet my family for the first time?'

Seeing her like this, he couldn't help but find her a bit cute.

"Calm down, Sera. You don't have to be so nervous. Aunt Sel is very kind, and she won't scold you."

Sera heard Kael's words trying to make her calm. It made her feel warm, but it didn't work one bit to decrease her fear because he didn't understand what she was going through. He seemed unaware that he was living with monsters. She didn't dare try to tell him that, knowing it was hidden from him—there must be a reason for it.

She only nodded helplessly in response.

He was about to ring the bell, but before he could, the gate opened itself. It wasn't weird as this would happen almost every time, but he was expecting Aunt Sel to be the one to open it. But in front of him was big sister Aurora, with her usual cold and emotionless look on her face. But there were dark circles under her eyes. He had never seen that on her before. For someone so punctual, for a moment he even imagined her frost eyes quivering a little as if she was emotional.

But he told himself he might have been imagining it. It had been more than five years since she hadn't shown a single emotion. He used to remember when he was little, she used to smile a bit from time to time and used to be more open with her emotions.

However, for years she was like an emotionless cold beauty—a perfect description—but he still preferred the previous version much more.

Her long flowing frost-colored hair rested on her shoulders. Her icy blue eyes were cold as always. She was still as beautiful as ever, wearing the same clothes she wore when going to work every morning.

A pleated white shirt hugged her figure. Over it, a double-breasted elegant white suit clung to her figure tightly with two rows of gem-like buttons on them, with formal white pants fitting her long elegant legs, along with a brooch-formed tie with a blue gemstone inside, and on top of it all, a black majestic coat with her white shoes.

'big sis Aurora looked stunning as always'

If someone told she was the commanding leader of an army he would accept it without any word, as that's how he felt when he left for work.

Every morning he made sure to get a good view of her dressed like this.
