Chapter 27 - CHAPTER 27

~Adrian~

The audacity of this guy. I could have snapped his neck.

I saw Paige walk away and this guy was not worth it.

I pushed past him, and tried to catch up to her. She made i

t out the door, so I mind linked her. "Paige wait."

I kept walking, making my way through the crowd.

"Someone call an ambulance now!" I heard.

My heart sank and I pushed through the crowd faster, hearing sirens.

When I made it out the door I saw people standing around a circle staring at something as an ambulance made its way closer.

I could smell Paige, and I pushed past the crowd to see her lying on the ground.

"Paige!" I shouted, rushing to the ground to be by her side.

"Sir, she fainted almost immediately after she walked out the door," said the young man holdingher head up.

I couldn't give her blood to heal her in front of all these people and with the ambulance already approaching, I had to let them take her, or risk exposing us all.

I took her head in my hands. She was awake but seemed a little out of it.

"Paige, listen to me. I love you," I said as I tried to hold back tears.

"I love you," she said with a smile.

"Where am I?" she asked as the paramedics walked up. I stayed speechless as they placed her on the stretcher.

"Sir we cannot let you ride with us, but we will be just right there if you want to follow us," said the older paramedic pointing at the hospital up the road.

I nodded.

"Adrian!" shouted David from the crowd.

I walked up to him, still angry.

"Where were you?" I demanded.

"What do you mean? No one came out after I got the car so I came back inside to check on Nicole.

I could feel something was wrong," David said.

"What happened? Where's Paige?" Nicole asked, seeming worried.

"She's on her way to the hospital. She just fucking passed out," I said, trying to hold back the tears that were sure to fall.

"Okay, then let's get to the hospital quickly. As soon as they let us in to see her you can give her your blood to heal her," David said calmly while putting a hand on my shoulder.

"Okay, I am sorry for yelling at you, brother," I said, as I wiped my eyes.

"Don't mention it," he said as we walked quickly to the car.

The hospital was literally a few buildings down from the club, so we had no problem getting there quickly by car.

"You have to wait outside, Nicole. I will wait out here with you," David said as we pulled into a parking garage.

"I have to check on her, David," she pleaded with him.

"It's too much of a risk. You are still a new blood. If someone is bleeding in that emergency room, you'll go feral," David said, unbuckling his seat belt.

"We'll be just out here if you need anything," David said with a sigh.

"I'll text you when I find out what is going on," I said as I climbed out of the car.

When I went to the front desk of the emergency room I was told that she was currently being treated, so I had to stay in the waiting room.

I paced around the waiting area, unable to sit and relax.

"Mister Beauchamp, you may come this way," said a kind voice from behind me.

The nurse led me to Paige's room. She was resting on a bed but she woke up when I held her hand.

"The doctor will be in shortly," the nurse said softly before leaving the room. I was tempted to give her blood to heal her the moment the door shut, but I couldn't do it. I have no idea when someone could come back through that door.

"You really scared me," I whispered to Paige, kissing her hand.

"Sorry about that," she said with a sleepy voice.

Either she had forgotten what happened or she was too tired to care. Either way, I didn't want her to be mad at me forever.

"I am so sorry, I never meant to upset you," I said softly.

"You kissed her," she said, while looking away from me.

"I did not invite that. If I knew it was her intention, I would have fired her a long time ago," I said through gritted teeth.

The door knob turned and a short, older doctor with square glasses came into the room.

"I think the IV fluid we have running is helping with the dehydration.

It looks like you were given a form of Rohypnol.

It's street name is often called roofie.

We need to keep you overnight for observations before we can send you home," he said as he seated himself on a stool.

Did he say she was roofied?

If Claire is behind this I will fucking kill her!

"There is another thing we have to talk about. I think congratulations are in order. You're going tobe a mommy!" he said with a smile while reaching into a cabinet beside his stool.

"This is a care package to take home. It has a small book of information on the growing fetus and symptoms you may experience. Also there are prenatal vitamins inside," he said kindly.

"Um...Can I just go home?" Paige asked.

I was still in shock. I couldn't find words to respond.

"Well, as I said, I would prefer to hold you for 24 hours, just to be on the safe side. But you are allowed the right to refuse treatment.

I would just need you to sign a few forms so we will not be held liable, if for any reason you end up back here," he said.

Paige nodded. "Yes sir, I understand, I just want to go," she said as a single tear rolled down her cheek.
