~Paige~
My heart hurt.
I had a feeling by the way she reacted to Adrian calling me mate, that she had feelings for him.
I could tell the day I met Adrian that she wanted him.
How could I be so stupid?
I couldn't watch any longer. I ran in the opposite direction. Nicole was exiting the bathroom when I ran.
"Paige, what happened?" she asked, but I ran past her too.
I could hear the voices of both Nicole and Adrian calling out for me but I needed to breathe, I needed air.
I was dizzy by the time I reached the dance floor.
I stood still and looked at the floor trying to compose myself.
The room started to spin and I felt hands on me, rubbing my hips, pulling me into a warm body.
"No, I have to go," I said, pushing the hands off me.
I kept walking and felt the hand of the man pull me back to him. Looking up, I saw
some drunk guy trying to grind all over me.
Yuck!
I walked away from the dance floor until I reached a wall.
Putting my hand on it to hold me up as I grew more dizzy.
I was angry, sad, and sick.
Worst of all, I was alone.
Surrounded by drunks, but alone.
"Paige, we need to talk," Adrian said from behind me.
I turned to meet his face.
"We have nothing to talk about. I don't know how many partners your kind shares, but I refuse to be an option among your whores!" I shouted at him so he could hear my anger over the loud music.
"I can see why you are angry Paige, but if you will let me explain, I can clear things up," he said while stroking a strand of hair from my face.
"Don't touch me!" I shouted.
"Paige, please calm down," Adrian said sadly.
"She said not to touch her, dude," said a young, clean cut gentleman that approached us.
Adrian stepped closer to the guy, his chest bumping into him.
"You need to back the fuck off, and mind your business," Adrian said, growing more angry.
I was not about to watch this, I had enough.
I kept walking until I made it out the damn door.
I heard men whistling at me as I walked past the line at the door.
Adrian's voice entered my head,
"Paige, wait," echoed in my mind.
I stopped and looked around me searching for his face but all I saw was the crowd in the line.
The street lights spun around me. I had nothing to reach out and hold on to. I felt myself falling, and everything went black.
