~Paige~
"Paige, you have to come out of the bathroom at some point," Adrian said through the door.
I sat on the floor with my head in my knees.
"I'll come out eventually," I said with my forehead still resting on my kneecaps.
"Don't you want ice cream?" he asked sweetly.
I lifted my head up and sighed.
I got up and opened the door to see my love smiling back at me.
"We're having a baby?" he asked with a smile.
I nodded. "I thought you said we were gonna have ice cream?" I said, looking away to avoid his contagious smile.
He laughed and picked me up and spun me around.
"We're having a baby!"
He sat me on the bed. "Don't think I forgot you are on bed rest," he said with a smile, arching his eyebrows.
"Not fair," I said, trying to hold my lips back from smiling.
"I'll get your ice cream," he said proudly, just before walking off whistling.
I laid my head back, laid another pillow over my face and let out a scream.
I was being dramatic. Who wouldn't want to have a baby with their soulmate?
Who wouldn't want to have a baby with a beautiful man?
I could imagine our baby's beautiful skin, eyes, lashes, smile…it warmed my heart.
Maybe this wasn't so bad.
Maybe I would have never been "ready to be a mother," but that didn't make it any less of a blessing.
If I had to choose anyone in the world to have a baby with, I would choose Adrian.
I smiled to myself at the thought and pulled the pillow off of my face.
Adrian was standing in the doorway smiling and staring at me.
"Are you done?" he asked, as he handed me an ice cream cone.
"I'm good. I think I just had to let that out," I said as I nodded coolly.
Adrian roared laughing and got in the bed next to me.
"We'll stay in, watch movies, and eat junk food, all night," Adrian said as picked up the remote and clicked on the television.
He was trying to make the best of the bed rest and it was incredibly sweet.
"You pick the first movie," I said, nudging him.
"Yes ma'am," he said with that sexy half smile.
He clicked through a few options then settled on an old black and white film.
"Is this too old for you?" he asked.
"If you aren't too old for me then the movie definitely is not," I said with a giggle.
He laughed and wrapped his arm around me.
The movie was so sweet; it was a love story likemy mother used to watch.
I found myself crying at the end, maybe it was the hormones.
"It's your turn to pick," Adrian said softly while handing me the remote.
"Sweet!" I said as I scrolled through the movie options I had.
Adrian got up, and laid a soft kiss on my forehead.
"I shall return," he said sweetly.
"Where are you going?" I asked, making a pouting puppy face.
"I won't be far, just in the kitchen," he said before closing the door behind him.
I didn't want to start a movie without him so I went to use the restroom and while I was in there I took another two tests.
I was content but, you know, just in case.
Positive, both positive.
I am not gonna keep this up. I am pregnant, no more tests.
I put the last box away in the bathroom cabinet.
I went back to bed but smelled spices that made my mouth water, so I didn't stay in bed long.
I followed the smell through the house until I found myself in the kitchen.
Adrian was cooking and whatever it was, it smelled amazing.
"You are on bed rest until tomorrow, mon Cheri," he said with a smile.
"Okay, I'm going," I said, smiling to myself.
I went back to our room and climbed back into bed.
Minutes later Adrian returned with a tray of food.
It was rare steak, potatoes, and salad.
"I remembered how much you enjoyed steak, so I thought I would prepare you one," he shrugged with a wink.
"Any luck on the movie search?" he asked as he set the tray and drinks down and spread out napkins.
"Yep, found a girl meets vampire love story," I said, clicking on the movie.
"You are being sarcastic right?" he asked while getting settled back into bed.
"It's a thing, been done more than once. I haven't seen this one though," I said with a shrug.
Adrian laughed. "I'll try to stay awake through it."He winked as the words left his lips, so I elbowed him.
"Careful, you'll turn me on," he said playfully.
"Is that so?" I said, as I lay down my fork.
"Oh no you don't, eat, feed our baby," he said, kissing my belly.
His cold lips tickled my skin.
I couldn't help but giggle.
"Okay, okay," I said, giving in before the tickles made me pee myself.
"Good girl," he said with a wink.
He's such a butt head sometimes.
A beautiful butt head, but I love him.
We watched the cheesy vampire movie, and Adrian giggled almost the entire time.
After the movie, we shared a bath.
He washed my hair, and rubbed my back, then I rested my head on his chest and enjoyed the coolness of his skin in this steamy hot bath.
"As much as I enjoyed being babied, I do admit I look forward to getting off of bed rest tomorrow. I just wasn't cut out to lay around in bed all day," I said with a sigh.
"I look forward to it too. I have been trying to keep my hands to myself until then, it is unbearable to wait." Adrian said softly as he stroked his fingers through my hair.
"I knew it. You grounded me until bed rest was over," I said with a giggle.
"You caught me, but it will be worth the wait," he said, pressing his lips on the top of my head that lay on his chest.
"Okay, let's go get in bed before the sun starts to rise," I said as I started draining the water from the tub.
I stood up, and he still sat there.
"Come on weirdo, we are going to bed," I said playfully.
"I was enjoying the view of your bubbly ass from back here," he said softly.
I stepped out of the tub and wrapped a towel around myself.
"Whoops, guess you will have to follow my bubbly ass to the bed," I said with sass before hurrying off to bed.
Within a flash he was there—he beat me to the bed.
"Not fair using your super human speed," I said, dropping my towel.
"Gimme," he said in a husky voice.
I climbed into the bed, and onto his lap.
I ran my fingers through his scalp and kissed him passionately.
My tongue danced with his, my thighs clenched around his hips, and he let out a moan.
"Good night, lover," I whispered in his ear.
He groaned as I climbed off his lap and snuggled into the covers next to him.
"Now who's being unfair," he said in a whisper, pressing his lips gently on the back of my ear.
"I say we're even, you tease," I said with a giggle.
He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me in close, spooning me.
"Very well. I love you," he said just before kissing me on the neck.
"I love you more," I replied.
"Quit trying to make it a contest," he said with laughter.
I felt him snuggle his face onto my back. I hugged his arms that were around me.
This is my happy place, his arms. I closed my eyes, and slowly drifted off to sleep.
