Chapter 14 - What A...Beauty!

Being well aware that she was over-exerting herself, she also knew she had no other option.

She had to stop a little every other minute to calm her breath and soothen the pain in her legs before continuing.

However the nearer she got to the destination, the faster her steps got eventually.

And soon she was there.

Crescent looked at the gates of the restricted area.

The cemetry.

The cemetry from where she came on the night she was found by Mr Fiszer.

Her breath hitched as she stood panting in front of the huge iron gates which were locked by huge chains. This was it.

Several emotions came upon her but she knew it was not the time to get affected by it. Crescent walked a short route away on the main road.

Although the memories of that night were vague, but she could recall the exact place on the main road where she fell in front of Mr Walter's car.

Crescent matched the vision from that night to the direction from where she had run out of the forest.

If she were to follow a little more along this path, she could enter the cemetry without exactly passing through those huge gates locked with chains.

In the past three months, she had learnt well that it was illegal to cross these gates. It was centuries old cemetery, laid with the corpses of the people died in the flames of revenge.

They were devastated beyond recovery.

But she needed to enter.

The night was passing fast. And she didn't have much time to waste now.

Perhaps it was the fear to get back to university without letting anyone get aware about her absence or the desperation of months to get back to this place.

Crescent had never expected to get discovered by kind people that night in the seashore. She was well-aware that had they not found her, there was high possibility that she would have been dead by now.

They saved her in time. Crescent owed them but at the same time, she had major aims to fulfil. Getting emotionally connected to them would only ruin everything for her.

Crescent took a deep breath as her eyes shivered looking at the destination so close to her.

The time Crescent gained consciousness in the cemetry that night, she had felt it.

She spent months wondering about what she had felt that night. And the moment her eyes raked the history of that place, Crescent knew that it was going to bring her to where she needed to go.

To the aim that she needed to get to.

Crescent walked up the little but the next thing occured so fast that she could not make it out.

The moment her step was placed across the fence, a force hit her, the impact throwing her body away on the exact place she had fallen that night.

She let out a loud groan as her back hit the road and then everything went blank for a moment.

It occured so fast, within a blink of an eye snatching away her ability to even analyse.

Only silence lurked around her as she couldn't process what just occured. Despite the pain that emanated through her back, Crescent felt something crumbling in her heart.

It couldn't be!

Her mind swirled with so many thoughts, so many possibilities that she could not process any of it. Even before the pain, Crescent had felt the fear arising in her heart.

It was the fear to not be able to get success even after doing all she could have, even after doing her best!

Her eyes watered as she swallowed the pain, and desperately crawled all the way back, getting numerous cuts in the procedure.

She stretched her hand out to touch the area across the fence. Yet again, something electrifying went through her body and she cried out in pain.

It was so painful whatever it was and she instantly pulled back her arm.

The cry did not just represented the physical pain. It included the mental one as well.

She had wished to get here all this while. It couldn't be that at this point, when she was so close to getting here, it would turn out that it was just not possible.

For a long while, Crescent laid there motionless. Her mind was blank as she gathered her breath and energy.

Her torch had falled from her hands when she was thrown back earlier. She could not even see anything right now.

Having gotten the control over her fast beating heart to some degree, Crescent tried to get up. Her steps faltered as she decided to give it one more chance.

Somewhere Crescent knew that it might not work out even this time but she was hopeful. Pain shot through her as she tried to step across that fence, and was hit with a far stronger impact than earlier.

This time rather than landing upon the ground, she landed harsh upon the bonnet of a passing car.

The car came to a screeching halt as her body rolled down onto the ground.

Everything stilled and her eyes slowly closed.

There was no energy left in her now.

It felt as if not just her body, but even her world crumbled right in front of her.

At the same time, the backdoor of the Mercedes-Benz opened. A man walked out. His sharp gaze first scanned the iron gates of the cemetry and then the body that was lying right in front of his car.

The man arched his right eyebrow in interest and walked over to the body. Not far from that, there was a small torch flickering the light right upon the path he walked.

The man bent on his knee as his fingers caressed the strands of hair escaped through the cap. And it was a lady.

He removed the strands covering her face.

And what a...beauty!

The man tilted his neck and a small smirk appeared over his lips.

"Is she alive?"

A voice asked from behind. There was a slight fear in the tone.

The man went closer to her neck and took a small sniff. Such a nice perfume!

"Very much alive."
