It was done.
In a few moments, Crescent came out in darkness and walked out of the door. Her ears stayed up alerted to get even the slightest of hint of anybody being here.
She did not want anyone to know that she was heading out at this time. Her steps were swift with no doubt about their destination.
Despite the darkness, Crescent avoided using the torch to prevent unnecessary attention of anyone upon her.
Quickly, she exited the dormitories keeping the path she had learnt in the evening without coming under the eyes of any warden or student.
As she came a little away from the dormitory, Crescent finally dared to turn on her torch.
Crescent had brought a small torch with her. Its light was enough to let her have clear visibility but not enough to attract the attention of security guards or anyone.
Basically, it was in her favour.
Not only the dormitories but the entire university was spewing in darkness. The power house of the university was in the entirely opposite direction.
And currently all the guards must have assembled there to understand what went wrong with the electricity and even the generators.
She had a clear way ahead of her for now.
The main way to the campus area was filled with the CCTV cameras and the only way to get to where she wanted to go without coming under that attention, Crescent had to get the generator and the power off of the entire university.
Through a bushy area, she moved to the library which Mrs Smith had showed them in the morning.
She stood in front of the entrance of the library. It was definitely the place which she needed to check out but...not today.
Her line of vision tracked the small path that led to the backyard of the library. There was nothing but huge bushes over here.
At the corner, there were also the piles of plywood placed hinting at the plans to initiate the construction pretty soon.
But for now, her attention went to the huge bushes, long grass and a few thick tress. There were all sorts of weed here. It was such an unmaintained place.
Many students have come to this area before but none of them got the interest to walk right through the bushes and the pool of mud, get their feet dirty just to see what lie ahead.
Crescent had done right that earlier during the day. In the evening, Crescent had slipped away from the other students for a while to check the library in a bit more detail.
That was when she had came to the backyard and instead of walking away from here, she had walked right into the bushes. Crescent had planned to find the way to be able to escape the university but she had not thought to find it this soon.
She walked to the cemented boundary where she had found a way to escape the university without coming into notice.
As she had reached the wall that served as the boundary, she had already made a discovery.
There was a broken part on the wall which the university was seemingly unaware of. Had they known about it, Crescent was sure they would have fixed it way earlier.
Because the broken part gave away the clear path to outside.
Bringing out the tiny map she had, Crescent got out through the part and checked the area once more. Being cautious, she ensured that no one was really around as she walked away. She flashed the light upon the map.
Right now, she was in the South-West direction of the University.
Across the boundary of the university to this side, there was a deep forest. It could be one of the other reason why no one knew about the broken wall yet.
Or even if they knew, no one dared to slip away from this region.
This forest was too deep that there had been cases of murder here before. Students were too afraid to even think about this part of the forest.
And unless psychopath, no one would dare to get right into this dangerous zone.
If Crescent were to walk straight into the forest, there was no way that she would be back before four in the morning. So the only way to get out safely through this forest was to find the way to the main road here.
And it was not difficult because Crescent had already lined the path out of the forest on her map. All she gotta do right now was to follow that path.
It was simply walking along the built boundary of the university.
Crescent shoved the tiny bag which was with her on her right shoulder, and began the walk. Just as she had calculated, she was out on the main road within next ten minutes.
The clock was about to strike one in the morning. She only had about four hours to make it back.
Ever since she had come here, Crescent had known that there was this place which she needed to check out before anything else. However, in the past three months, she did not get any opportunity.
Now was the best time to explore it because she was afraid, if not today, she might not really be able to go out later.
Crescent stopped a few feet away from the main road. She walked along it but not right on it. Walk of thirty-minutes more and she would be there where she needed to be.
The night was so dark today. Apart from the sounds of animals once in a while, there was only the noise of leaves crushing beneath her feet and her breath. It was beginning to get ragged.
Its been three months of healing but Crescent still found it hard to walk fully fine.
Today was the first time when she was going to walk this much. The short walks she had with Mrs Walter before can not be compared to this at all.
