Throwing another sharp glare at him, Crescent moved out of the room. As she walked out, her gaze wandered all around. She ensured that not even a single detail was missed from her eyes.
It was a residential building.
She moved her way to the elevator. As it opened, she realised that she was on the thirteenth floor.
Where exactly was she?
There were no huge buildings in the Lilac Town or anywhere near it. So to be here, she must be in the urban part of the city.
Great!
Now she had to travel double the distance. Ignoring the lights that were switched on in the hallways and in the elevator, she could tell it was still an early morning.
The sun wasn't out yet. It was just the initial part of twilight getting all over the sky. She took out her phone and heaved a sigh of relief on finding it at half past four in the morning.
She could reach back on time.
Opening the site to book a cab, she quickly found a one nearby. She called for it and waited outside the huge gates of the building.
At the far end of the street, dogs barked at each other. She checked her exact location, and her guess was correct. Crescent was really in the urban part of the city.
It would take her almost an hour to reach her university. It meant it must have taken them almost two hours to bring her here, as the cemetery was even farther.
Which directly meant that she must have been out for a maximum of 20 minutes at his place.
It was too short for him to have tried anything suspicious.
Her heart eased a bit.
The cab was soon here, and she went off in it.
Through the thirteenth floor of the same building, a pair of eyes was focused upon her. The owner of those eyes drew back the curtains and stared back at the person carelessly lying on the couch.
"Boss, do you think she was telling the truth only?"
"I don't live in her mind to verify that."
Samuel sighed, not believing what he just heard.
"There have been too many people curious about that cemetery. She could be one of them." The nonchalant reply came again.
Samuel couldn't trust his ears. They were at the most crucial stage, at this point, his boss should be suspicious of even the water he was being poured into a glass.
"You wouldn't look into her at all?"
"No."
Samuel shook his head, still finding it hard to believe.
"Well, unless..." His boss opened his eyes all of a sudden, "...we meet again."

Crescent asked the cab driver to drop her a little away from the main gates. She was not a fool to risk it all and enter through the main gates.
Paying the driver, she went onto the same road she escaped from last night. If she wanted to keep her such rendezvous hidden from all, she needed to maintain the only way out.
As she came to the front of the library, Crescent checked the time once more. It was ten minutes past six.
She realised the lights of the University were still out. At least, she would not pop up in the CCTV recordings out of nowhere.
It didn't matter any longer if there was electricity or not when more than enough illumination was in the sky. The only missing thing was the appearance of the sun.
Fortunately, there was quite a walking distance between the library and their dormitories, hence no one was here at this point.
The library was in the weirdest part of the university, where one wouldn't just come across for no reason.
This was another point which Crescent had found uncanny.
Even the ones who were jogging enthusiasts did not come to this part of the University.
Dodging the sights of many, Crescent hurriedly entered her dormitory. Perhaps the luck was really on her side because she did not bump into anyone.
It wouldn't have been an issue if she were not wearing such a black leather jacket and the jeans. Because in this outfit, even a fool would tell she was coming from somewhere and that somewhere was not on the campus.
Standing in her room, Crescent took a deep breath. Slowly, she turned the knob and a soft click came. The sound of the fan greeted her before the image of Misty sprawled all over her bed, deep in slumber.
Suddenly, the summed-up exhaustion hit her, and she immediately got into the bathroom.
She exhaled deeply and leaned against the door. The night was too...eventful!
From failing to enter the cemetery to waking up in a stranger's house. She was lucky that she did not stumble into someone who could have really harmed her.
Crescent pushed her hair back and blankly stared at the ceiling. She looked calm on the surface, but there was a storm going on in her mind now.
What went down last night was so different from what she had imagined the night to be!
She won't decline that she was a fool to even believe that making the first step would be simple.
The reality was completely different.
After lying in that position for some time, Crescent collected her thoughts and finally began to feel the physical pains hitting her.
She got up, removed the jacket and started stripping. A hiss came through her parted lips as she unhooked her bra.
In the reflection of a mirror stood a girl with dried blood on her back. There was a big cut, which luckily did not run deep.
She entered the shower and let the water wipe away the dirt accumulated on her body. Done with that, she wrapped a towel around her body.
Taking out the first aid kit from the cabinet, she took the cotton ball out, dabbed it in antiseptic and gently applied it to her wounds.
It burnt, causing her to bite her lower lip to not let out any sound. The last thing she wanted right now was to wake Misty up and then run her mind to find perfect answers to her questions.
As she was done with that area, Crescent treated her elbows as well. After that, she moved to the lower limbs. There was no visible injury there, but her ankle hurt as she walked. Perhaps an icepack would work later on.
