This one statement instantly shut the mouths of several students that had been bristling with righteous indignation.
It was true, a thousand years ago there was no such thing as magic energy or magic powers.
At that time anything related to magic powers were simply treated as supernatural powers from fiction and anybody that did anything supernatural would either be taken as a prophet or a clown performing.
At that time natural disasters were terribly feared and there were so many illnesses and conditions like cancer, malaria, HIV/Aids and others like the viral diseases. Some were even deemed as death sentences since they were incurable.
But now thanks to magic power and advancement in technology all those illnesses no longer plagued humanity now there were no deaths from cancer, no worries from malaria, no HIV/AIDS that could not be handled.
Even though there were more terrifying conditions these days than there were in the past, they did not just affect anybody unless you were to be actively infected with them and even most of these conditions could be handled.
All this would not have been possible if it were not for that one decision by that mad scientist. His decision made it possible for humanity to advance so much.
"The reason I'm telling you this is because I want you to understand that not just science, but everything in life requires risks. Risks that may end up leading to dire sacrifices and these sacrifices may defame you, but don't let the fear of these consequences keep you from making decisions.
The decisions you make may have risks but they may birth wonderful results, results that could cause massive strides in human history and create great things. But, you must be willing to take risks.
I'm not saying to not be cautious but don't let that stop you from taking that leap of faith."

After class concluded the teacher went away and everyone went about with whatever they wanted. Drake noticed that Zack had actually gone to talk to Cassandra. Unfortunately for the arrogant young master, she didn't pay him any heed. She did not even look at him.
This aggrieved him to no end, and when he saw her still looking at Drake it pissed him off. Since he could not lash out at her, he directed all his rage at Drake.
Drake didn't really care and returned to his dorm and continued with his research for things related to constellations and stars.
Their shapes, sizes, positions, how far they were from each other, how many stars formed the constellations anything he could think up. He soon had a direction and dived into the sea of stars in his seal. Once he appeared in this little cosmos magic energy flowed into his eyes.
'Eye of Order'
After his research he had decided on his target, it would be the Virgo constellation! As fr why he had chosen this particular constellation it as because of the relationship it shared with Libra.
They were both Zodiacs!
"This is the spot!" He exclaimed.
Virgo was one of the twelve Zodiac constellations alongside Libra. It was also one of the nearest among the Zodiac constellations to the Libra constellation.
'Now comes the next step. I need to form the constellation, in order to do that I first have to use stars that I can control.' He thought 'But should I use the same stars I used for the Libra constellation?'
After pondering for a few seconds he decided against that, 'If I use those stars who knows whether I will lose the 'Eye of Order'. After all it is a power gotten from the constellation, and if the constellation is gone I might also lose the ability it gives.' He shook his head.
'Looks like I have to control more stars to create more constellations even though o am a bit impatient I can't be careless with this. I should take my time and practice more. Luckily I already have experience with controlling energy and the stars so this should not take as long as it did with the first seven.' With that thought in mind he got to work.

The next day, when Drake walked into his class something strange happened. Aisha the cold class beauty actually decided to greet him first.
This startled him quite a bit but he still responded with a nod to acknowledge her and she turned away to continue with her business.
Zack was still stuck with his young master syndrome so he was still finding it hard to condescend from up high to mingle with the commoners. If anything his attitude towards Drake seemed to have gotten worse over night.
The whole thing baffled Drake, but then after some thought he understood. The whole thing with their behaviors had started yesterday after the whole Cassandra incident.
Once he remembered that he understood what was going on. 'Aisha is treating me better because she is happy that I turned Cassandra away. That is natural since women are naturally jealous creatures. As for Zack, he probably got angry that Cassandra didn't give him any face and since he can't lash out at her, he has decided to direct all his resentment at me; the nobody that drew her attention.' Then he looked around and felt relived that Cassandra wasn't in class today.
He frowned in irritation, 'Hah, he might have young master syndrome but if he starts biting in my direction he had better be careful that I don't slap him. If there is one thing I excel at curing it's stupidity.'
Drake sighed at the injustice. He didn't do anything wrong if anything he had actually tried running away from the sexy Yandere bloodsucker. Yet, because of a little interaction with her he had to face the wolves, while she got away scot-free. Hell they would be trying to impress her and he would be their stepping stone to achieve that.

Drake sat in his class paying close attention to everything the teacher said.
A few students were not really paying attention in this class but Drake was completely focused. Why? Because everything related to this class was very important to him.
That is because this was Magic class.
For all the other student, nothing about all the teacher was saying was new to them since they already learnt about this stuff long time ago in their family's and clans, but Drake hadn't learned about them.
He had only opened his seal a few weeks ago, and after that he had focused mainly on mastering control while Queen guided him and that had not lasted long since she had to leave for her breakthrough.
As for all the theoretical knowledge about Mages, magic energy and magic powers he had no time for all that. So this class was very useful for him.
…
The magic class teacher, a 5 star Mage called Steven, was a 40 year old man with grey hair and a beard described the process Mages went through while breaking through to higher stages.
There were nine officially established levels for Mages and magic beasts. These were simply called 1 star Mage to 9 star Mage for Mages and Grade 1 magic beast to Grade 9 magic beast for magic beasts.
However these levels were sometimes given nicknames based on some characteristics of the level.
Take Mages for example; 1 star to 3 star Mages were simply called that, but 4 star Mages were called Ruby core Mage, while 5 star Mages were called Golden core Mages and 6 star Mages were addressed as Amethyst core Mages.
"When you are in the 1 star Mage stage, magic energy is not stored anywhere particularly in our body instead it is dispersed into the energy nodes. The number of energy nodes in a persons body determines their cultivation speed or as the rest of you call it, talent.
As for the number of nodes in the body, it is already determined from birth. Most people tend to have a small number of energy nodes in their bodies. This results in slow cultivation speed.
If a person only has a few energy nodes in their body, it could take years to breakthrough to the next level. While, if they have many it could only take a few months."
"When there is magic energy in the nodes spread throughout our body, the cells in your body will perceive them as cells just like themselves. The only problem they will see is that these cells are actually much stronger than themselves, so they start wanting to be strong like the energy nodes, and the only way for them to do that will be to absorb more magic energy around them to strengthen themselves.
If there are lesser number of energy nodes fewer cells will evolve at a time. This is both because they will need to absorb more magic energy that is being emitted by the nodes, and because they will only start evolving when the notice that the cell right next to themselves is stronger than them. Only then will they want to mimic the stronger cells."
"If you have ten times more nodes in your body than somebody, then naturally your cultivation speed will be faster than them. And only when all the cells in the blood and flesh have completed this evolution does one become a 2 star Mage."
As Drake absorbed all this information, he could not help but marvel at how brilliant the whole process sounded. With how close the relationship between the magic energy and the cells was it was no wonder the magic energy could simply be treated like an extra limb. The relationship between the two was so close the magic energy is practicably a part of the body.
