"Fine, but I'm hungry. We can at least go out and get something to drink right? I know a place." She pouted then suggested.
"Oh, you do? Is Vervane on the menu? It's part of this new diet I've been trying, and I hear it's good for vegetarians." he asked interest in his voice. Meanwhile he was thinking' Ha! Get a drink? More like I'm the drink.'
(WN: Vervane is an herb that is harmful to Vampires. You will know exactly what it does if you've seen 'Vampire Diaries'.)
She seemed to have understood what he meant so she snorted. "Too scared to even look at me I thought you'd be more daring. Are you even a man?"
Drake chuckled softly while shaking his head, "Friendly advice Luv, never ask a man that question again." Once he said this he raised his head and opened his eyes. The Eye of Order was active and the sea of stars swirled in his eyes as he added, "Or there just might be blood."
He had activated the 'Eye of Order' hoping that with it active, even if she tried to compel him it would help to defend him against it.
Seeing him finally open his eyes Cassandra felt some excitement rising up in her now that she had finally started provoking him. "Ooh how exciting since I've bee a bad girl then you should punish me right?" she groomed his hair with her soft hands , then her fingers started to slowly trace his muscles on hi chest, travailing lower.
"Careful love, if you fly too close to the sun you might get burned." He warned.
"Hehe, then What do you think would happen if I held the sun in my own hands? She said as her palm glided softly over the demons resting place.
"Now you're just playing with fire. This is your last warning, even god's and Dragons dread the awakening of the titan." A savage glint of red started to glow in the depths of his eyes.
Drake had had enough of her nonsense, he no longer cared that she was a Vampire nor did he care if the real Nicklaus Michelson came hunting him down for touching his sister. If he still didn't do anything after this provocation then even he would look down on himself. Forget a toothless tiger she would probably start thinking he was a rabbit that she could play with.
'That's it I'm done trying to be a nice guy. I dare you to flip that last switch! If you do, I swear on the last drop of my blood, I will make you know that the titan is no toothless tiger, no rabbit. He is a divine dragon that can poke a hole in the sky piercing through all heavenly barriers.'
Cassandra didn't know why but when she looked into those eyes she felt a hidden bloodlust. Like an ancient Primeval beast was staring at her. This caused her to feel an unknown kind of extreme fear that seemed to have originated from the depths. Of her soul.
In that instant she felt her cold heart freeze, and all her Vampire instincts screamed at her to run away. Cassandra was a Vampire princess, and she had faced a lot of things in her life including death. Yet, even the threat of death never made her feel fear like this. That meant one thing.
If she did not stop now, she would have to face something more terrifying than death itself.
Just as the pressure started weighing heavily on her there was sound of footsteps and an older man that looked like he was in his sixty's walked into the room whilst giving of a scholarly air.
When he felt the soul chilling atmosphere he scrunched his eyebrows, he snapped. "Who is using magic power in class, have you not read the rules? It is not allowed to use magic power in a class without permission from a teacher."
The coldness instantly dispersed from the air. As Drake reserved his ravenous bloodthirsty intent, and his eyes returned to normal as he deactivated the 'Eye of Order'.
"You are new students so I will pardon it this once. But make sure you keep to the rules alright get to your seats all of you!"
After giving Drake a deep stare Cassandra also retreated taking the seat directly behind him, while Rufus retreated from the class after he greeted the teacher but not before giving Drake another death glare.
Drake sighed, 'This is probably going to be a long class.'
…
Returning to class the teacher stood in front of the students.
"Now that I have everybody's attention let me introduce myself. I am Professor Caleb Herman! I would first like to welcome you new students to Alpha academy, and I want to remind you that now that you are students of Alpha academy you must not slack off. Instead you must do your very best to grow stronger, and one thing you must have if you wish to grow is knowledge." The teacher spoke in a loud voice.
"Alpha academy has split your syllabus into four main courses. These are General knowledge class, Magic class, Battle training and tactics class and finally Survival trials class."
"You may chose whether or not you wish to attend classes but I would advise that you do because at the end of every semester a certain amount of Mage points will be awarded based on your performances in everything you do while n the academy. For all classes you attend and tests taken you will receive points, participating in extracurricular activities like competitions will give you points, when you breakthrough to the next stage in your cultivation level you will receive points."
Drake looked at the silver armband on his wrist that was apparently made of a special metal that could not be easily destroyed by a Mage. This was his student identity token he had received at the gate after registration as a student of the academy was completed.
It contained the school regulations, timetable for his classes with a function that allowed a teacher to directly communicate anything they wanted to every student. It also served as a map and GPS device for the students and it also saved their Mage points.
When he had received it he was instantly credited with 1362 Mage points. This was the reward he head received from the entrance exams.'
He had been shocked when he received it, this is because when he checked how much the twins and Sylvia had, none of them had up to 600Mage points.
This proved that he had over twice what even the best to take the exams had. It was at this point that he understood just how powerful thee information gathering ability of the 'Eye of Order' is.
Mage points were the currency used in the Academy. Anything you needed could be purchased with Mage points. So they were very important and highly sought in the academy.
…
"That's all information for later you can figure it out by yourselves or ask the older students. I won't focus much on that, instead I will be retuning to what I'm here for.
"Like I said earlier, there will be four classes and this is General knowledge class, and in this class we will be discussing things from all the knowledge that you should know about the world of sanctuary." After talking about things that drew in the attention and enthusiasm of the students he finally started talking about business.
"When Sanctuary is mentioned the first thing that comes to mind is the continent. What caused the birth of Sanctuary? What are the famous regions of Sanctuary? What are the threats and problems Sanctuary faces?" Once he had their attention he began his lecture.
"A thousand years ago there was no Sanctuary. At that time there were seven separate continents each of them occupying a large part of the planet with the rest of the space covered by the oceans."
"There were many different countries, states, tribes, ethnic groups all over the world. That was a time when humanity stood at the top of the food chain. We controlled the land, seas, and skies and there was nothing we couldn't do, there was peace.
Science finally advanced to the level where teleportation portals were possible, this resulted in humanity's greatest rise, as this was the greatest breakthrough the scientists ever made."
"With the teleportation portals life became easier. Transportation that would normally take minutes or even hours could be done in but an instant. You could go from one end of the world to the other in just a few seconds, exploration of the world and even the vast outer space became possible much easier. Things were looking up and life was never better, until one scientist decided to test the limits!"
"Everyone knew that for teleportation to be successful two nodes would be needed to serve as entry and exit start and end. But he was curious, he wanted to know what would happen if a portal was opened but there was no destination point."
"Now so many people may have or may still think that godforsaken mad scientist caused the apocalypse with that stupid decision he made. Many would curse him for damning the entire world and causing humanity to suffer for a thousand years." When he said this he noticed that some students were clenching their fists and some were cursing under their breaths. This was a reaction he expected, and he continued.
"I understand how all these people may feel after all if it weren't because of that decision the black gates to the abyss would never be opened and we would not have to face the threat of extinction everyday of our lives since then. But I want you all to understand that if it were not for that one decision, magic energy would not exist in our world as it does today"
