Claire Green's words left the group with complicated expressions, making their teeth ache with sourness.
Julian Sia's eyes paused for a moment, then a deep joy filled them.
He looked steadily at Claire Green, his voice low, "Claire, don't flirt with me."
Mason Quinn couldn't bear to watch this scene, thinking Julian should really check his expressions while saying that.
Claire Green's heart skipped a beat, her tone casual, "If this counts as flirting, you weren't like this before."
Hearing this, Julian Sia chuckled silently. This kid sure holds a grudge.
John Sinclair, hungry and watching the two, rolled his eyes.
"Sis Claire, where are we going to eat?"
"What do you guys want to eat," Claire Green looked around and asked.
Upon hearing this, John Sinclair patted Sebastian Winn and Isabella Xyler, and the three of them huddled together whispering.
After a while, John Sinclair cleared his throat, "We three just discussed and decided to go for barbecue."
"Barbecue?" Claire Green frowned, imagining the group sitting at a barbecue stall.
"Yes, yes," Isabella Xyler and Sebastian Winn nodded vigorously, "The place we went last time, the food was really good."
Actually, the taste was just one side of it; the other side was that these three men definitely wouldn't go for such food. Thinking of this, the two snickered.
But who knew one of them wouldn't play by the rules and showed full support.
"Really? I'm telling you guys, I also love barbecue, which place is it? Let's go quickly." Mason Quinn walked over happily, urging them.
John Sinclair and the other two were dumbfounded; this wasn't how they imagined it.
Isabella Xyler looked at him skeptically, "How come I don't remember you loving barbecue."
"There are a lot of things you don't know," George Xyler leisurely butted in.
They could clearly see what these kids were up to, truly with a child's mindset.
"John Sinclair, the address," Claire Green said succinctly.
...
Ten minutes later, a small barbecue shop welcomed the group.
The group sat at one table, and the long legs of Julian Sia and his friends left Isabella Xyler laughing uncontrollably.
"Haha, brother, you guys should cut off a bit of those legs, it would be more comfortable sitting this way."
George Xyler raised his hand and patted her head, "Shut up."
Feeling her brother's warning, Isabella Xyler obediently kept quiet, sitting beside him rubbing her head.
The shop owner, holding the menu, looked at the out-of-place group with confusion and cautiously asked, "What would you like to eat?"
John Sinclair didn't even look at the menu and quickly said, "One hundred meat skewers, fifty shrimp skewers, and twenty portions each of small yellow croaker and wheat gluten, and finally, two pitchers of beer."
"Alright, please wait a moment," the owner now couldn't stop smiling, no longer appearing nervous.
The group of girls at the next table watched them with excitement.
"This is the first time I've seen handsome people wearing suits and eating in a barbecue shop."
"Right, this place doesn't match their vibe at all."
"Have you only noticed the handsome guys? Didn't you see that pretty girl?"
"I did, but being another girl, I'm clearly not in her league."
They quietly discussed among themselves, except for one girl who was particularly silent.
The person beside her looked at her curiously, seeing her face flushed, eyes bright, staring at a certain spot.
Following her gaze, of course, it landed on the most handsome guy.
"Xiaoyu, stop staring, just eat," the girl tugged her sleeve, signaling her to come back to her senses.
That man didn't look easy to mess with.
The girl named Xiaoyu ignored her friend, staring dazedly at Julian Sia.
This man was dressed in expensive clothes; if I became his girlfriend, I could leave my current life behind.
Her thoughts grew wild as she couldn't resist slowly standing up and walking towards them.
"Xiaoyu," the girl beside her tried to pull her back but was shaken off, which made her shout.
But now Xiaoyu's mind was full of Julian Sia; she wouldn't listen to anyone.
So, amid everyone's attention, she stood beside Julian Sia.
She bent slightly, letting her hair fall behind her ears, revealing what she thought was a beautiful smile, "Hey there, can I get your contact details?"
Julian Sia pretended not to hear, reaching out to replace Claire Green's beer with water.
"Claire, drinking affects your development."
Claire Green turned her head to see his smiling eyes, and couldn't help but twitch her lips.
This reason was indeed irrefutable.
Seeing Claire Green suffer in silence, Isabella Xyler and the others secretly laughed.
Xiaoyu, seeing the man ignoring her, turned pale and persistently asked again, "Hey there, is it okay?"
"No, it's not," Isabella Xyler spoke up, glancing her up and down, "Girl, as a young lady, don't you have the slightest sense of restraint?"
Before the girl could speak, she continued, "I bet your parents didn't raise you just to have you asking men for their contact information on the street, or they'd probably regret it."
Her words fell.
The entire shop went silent, everyone quietly watching.
Xiaoyu turned pale instantly, trembling, tears welling up as she looked at the man.
"I didn't mean it, is admiring someone's looks wrong?"
Oh, she's getting bold now, Isabella Xyler put her things down and stood up.
"Are you sure you admire his looks and not his potential wealth? I've seen many girls like you, not wanting to work hard and just wanting to cling to someone wealthy—where's your sense of shame?"
"Looking at you, you seem to be a student too, so learn how to spell 'shame'."
Xiaoyu was rendered speechless by Isabella Xyler's words, now guessing the looks she was receiving were full of ridicule and disdain.
"Who are you to speak for him?" Xiaoyu, obviously desperate, shouted to question.
Isabella Xyler's eyes went cold, her face expressionless, "I'm his sister, do you think you can daydream about my brother? What are you thinking?"
Try to break up my ship? No way to tolerate it.
I must prevent anything that affects Claire and Julian's relationship. I'm really a dedicated fan.
"Bella, sit down," Claire Green's lazy voice sounded.
Isabella Xyler obediently sat down, giving Claire Green a sweet smile.
She no longer looked like the sharp-tongued person from before.
The girl didn't expect this outcome and now could only place her hopes on Julian Sia.
Choking up, she said, "Do you feel the same way?"
Julian Sia half-closed his eyes, his lips coldly curling upward, "Get lost."
The girl was in disbelief, finally running away with tears.
The group of girls with her, embarrassed, gave Claire Green and the others an awkward smile and chased after her.
They also thought what the girl said was right; Xiaoyu really embarrassed herself this time.
After they left, the shop returned to its bustling atmosphere, as if nothing had happened.
Claire Green rested her chin on her slender hand, a smile appearing on her lips, "Brother, your charm is truly boundless!"
