Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Just Want to Be a Good-for-Nothing

Claire Green looked at the man who said that with a straight face, put the bowl on the table, and pushed him away.

"I didn't expect my brother to not only look good but think so too."

Julian Sia leaned against the table, a smile full of mischief in his eyes.

"Can I take that as a compliment, Ah-Jin?"

He added succinctly, "Ah-Jin, you're good-looking too."

Hearing that, Claire Green was slightly stunned and looked at him in surprise.

Her eyes were dark and bright, Julian Sia raised his hand to cover her eyes, speaking slowly.

"Ah-Jin, looking at brother like that is against the rules."

Whenever he spoke like this, the tail end of his words was always enchanting.

Can't outdo this, can't outdo this.

...

Brightsong, Class One.

"Olivia, you know something happened again in Class Six yesterday, right?" Rae Zander rushed to Olivia Song first thing in the morning, sharing yesterday's gossip.

Olivia Song looked at her excited expression, maybe it was related to Claire Green again.

Sure enough, the next second, Rae Zander couldn't wait to say, "I heard Claire Green talked back to the teacher in public after being late yesterday, and made their physics teacher storm out."

So this happened too, Olivia Song suppressed her excitement, but remained calm on the surface.

"Jin-Qi wouldn't do that."

Rae Zander looked at her helplessly, not understanding why Olivia still trusted Claire Green so much.

"Olivia, you trust her so much, has Claire Green ever given you a good face?" Rae Zander thought to herself, this can't go on, and spoke directly.

Olivia Song was taken aback, her brown eyes dimmed, "Jin-Qi is just mad at me, I don't mind, really."

To prove she was fine, she emphasized it again.

But hearing this, Rae Zander thought to herself, I will definitely not let Claire Green off the hook.

Olivia Song kept observing her expression, saw the determination on her face, and lowered her head, smiling softly.

...

Class Six.

Claire Green walked into the classroom empty-handed, drawing everyone's attention.

Wow, sister Qi didn't even bother to wear the uniform this time.

"Qi, feeling better?"

Isabella Xyler rested her chin on her hand, speaking with concern.

"Mm." Claire Green nodded, lounging lazily in her seat.

She crossed her legs, took a candy from her pocket and put it in her mouth, then reached for her phone to start a game.

This posture is very boss-like.

"Qi, playing games? Count me in, I'm really good," John Sinclair said eagerly, taking out his phone.

The two people in the front row didn't want to be left out either, chiming in, "Count me too."

Claire Green raised an eyebrow, amusement filling her eyes as she glanced at them.

Alright, four-player fight.

A minute into the game, Isabella Xyler was already screaming, "Ahhh, Qi, someone is attacking me, come quickly and save me."

Claire Green leisurely picked up a gun and shot at the person, successfully taking them down.

But that was just the beginning.

Next, the classroom was filled with three people's screams, as if it were a competition.

"Qi, come quick, a whole team is facing me, I need you."

"John, don't be a coward, Qi, ignore him and come to me, I feel surrounded and don't dare to go out."

"What the hell, Isabella, you're the worst."

"You two be quiet, Qi, come to me, I want to grab the loot drop."

"Fatty, get lost," Isabella and John shouted in unison.

Throughout the game, the three kept calling for help, while Claire Green bounced between rescuing and shooting.

The result was a master leading three rookies to a victorious "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner."

The three looked at the "Victory" message on their phone screens and let out a bitter laugh.

With such a low-pressure master around, how could it be auspicious?

"You nailed it," Claire Green looked over with a teasing smile.

John Sinclair couldn't help but shift back, "Uh, that was just an accident, I'm usually pretty good."

"Oh, really?" Claire Green looked at him with interest, tapping on her screen.

John Sinclair caught a glimpse of her actions and, seeing his own in-game stats, quickly snatched the phone.

With an embarrassed but polite smile, he said, "It's time for class; let's play again next time."

The two in the front row looked at him with a mix of admiration and disbelief.

Daring to snatch the master's phone, commendable courage.

Claire Green leisurely propped her head, lazily saying, "Hand over the phone."

John Sinclair looked at the phone in his hand, realizing he had impulsively snatched the master's phone and timidly returned it.

"Qi, let's make a deal; if you don't look at my stats, we can remain friendly desk partners."

Claire Green nodded, leisurely saying, "So you call an entire season without a win, stats?"

"Pffft——"

The two eavesdroppers in the front row laughed uncontrollably.

Qi has an unparalleled talent for hitting where it hurts.

John Sinclair: "..."

...

"Class, get ready for the lesson," Lawrence White, fair-skinned and gentle-voiced, said.

The girls in the classroom blushed upon seeing such a teacher.

"Who is that." Claire Green glanced up casually.

"The new physics teacher."

Claire Green turned back, putting on her headphones and starting another game.

As soon as Lawrence White entered the classroom, he noticed the beautiful girl.

After just one glance, he refocused on the lesson.

He wrote a problem on the blackboard and looked below, "Next, I'd like a student to come up and solve this problem. Does anyone want to volunteer?"

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone's heads dropped low, desperately wishing to disappear.

Seeing this scene, Lawrence White couldn't help but smile, amused by their reactions.

He scanned the room and noticed a girl, relaxed and brazenly on her phone.

"Claire Green, how about you?"

Suddenly, all eyes turned toward her.

"Qi, the teacher's calling you!" John Sinclair pulled down her headphones, whispering.

Claire Green looked up, "What does the teacher want."

Lawrence White smiled, "Come up and solve a problem."

Looking at the problem on the board, Claire Green paused.

Are questions so simple now?

"I can't."

She said, preparing to put her headphones back on.

Lawrence White wasn't angry, his voice still gentle, "I heard you told your classmates yesterday that only those who work hard will succeed, so you should lead by example."

Claire Green raised her eyebrows, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

Her lips curled slightly, voice lazy and careless.

"But I just want to be a good-for-nothing slacker."

Her words left Lawrence White speechless.

After composing himself, he stubbornly continued, "Claire, that mindset isn't correct."

To his surprise, Claire Green propped her chin with interest, "Then what kind of mindset does the teacher think is correct?"

Discussing this topic, Lawrence White perked up, clearing his throat, "Certainly it's to study hard and get into the best universities."

Hearing this, a hint of amusement danced in Claire Green's eyes.

"Sorry, but people like me who just aim to be a slacker can only inherit wealth," Claire Green said with a serious face despite her ridiculous claim.

With that, laughter started faintly spreading through the class, shoulders shaking all around.

Qi is something else, where is she going to inherit any wealth?

Lawrence White was at a loss, he didn't expect this student to completely flip the script.

He had to let go and stop making her solve the problem, otherwise, the entire class would be over by then.
