Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Tsk, What a Pitiful Little Thing

When Claire Green woke up, it was already the next day. She was sitting on the hospital bed, observing her surroundings, with the pungent smell of disinfectant assaulting her nostrils.

She never thought she could survive after being blown to bits.

Based on the memories she had just received, the owner of this body was also named Claire Green, which felt quite fated.

The original owner was an orphan, having grown up in an orphanage since birth. Due to her timid and weak nature, she was constantly bullied and dared not resist.

The orphanage director paid no attention to these minor incidents.

Until one day, a group of people came to the orphanage claiming to offer free health check-ups from the hospital. Upon hearing this, the director was overjoyed and didn't suspect the pie that had seemingly fallen from the sky.

Not even when the group took a small vial of blood from every child did she grow suspicious.

Unexpectedly, two days later, Olivia Song's parents came to the director, specifically to adopt Claire Green.

It was clear the director knew who they were. Although puzzled as to why they chose Claire Green, she called her over and informed her that she would have a new home, advising her to be obedient.

The original owner naively thought she really had a family then, but little did she know she was stepping into an abyss.

After the first blood transfusion, the young girl understood her purpose was to provide blood to their daughter at any time. When she grew older and tried to rebel, she was warned and threatened by Dane Song. Trying to report it to the authorities led nowhere.

From then on, the original owner knew no matter what she did, she couldn't escape Song Manor.

Until yesterday, when Olivia Song had an accident, once again, the original owner became the blood donor tool, and this time, it took her life.

Claire Green labored to get out of bed, feeling the bruised and battered body, and let out a small laugh.

"Tsk, really just a poor little thing."

"Splash——," Claire Green, with water dripping from her face, stared at the person in the bathroom mirror. Her messy black hair was scattered, her alluring eyes were like stagnant pools of water, her delicate countenance devoid of color, and her lips curled into a sinister smile.

Since she had taken over this body, she needed to settle the score with that family, otherwise, how could she justify it to the poor little thing.

Just as she left the ward, Claire Green heard a familiar voice from the room next door, and her eyes lit up.

"Yinyin, how many times have I told you, you can mess with that girl, but don't risk your own body. Look how dangerous it was this time," the woman's voice came from inside the ward.

Standing outside the door, Claire Green raised an eyebrow at these words. This family really had no limits.

"Mom, I was careful with it, as long as she's there, it's fine. See, I'm perfectly fine now." The girl's delicate voice sounded.

From outside, one could see the girl tugging at the woman's sleeve, acting coy.

The woman raised her hand to pat the girl's head, a doting smile spread across her elegant face.

"Yinyin, remember, no matter how much you dislike her, you mustn't let her die."

The woman reminded worriedly, after all, she was the movable blood bank they had gone through great lengths to find. If something happened, what would Olivia do?

"I know, it's just that I can't stand her face," Olivia Song pouted, how could an orphan look more refined than herself.

Hearing this, the woman chuckled. As parents, how could they not know their daughter's little thoughts, after all, as long as no one died, it was fine.

"A pretty face will attract envy."

Claire Green opened the door and walked in leisurely, sitting unreservedly on the sofa.

Seeing Claire Green's face, jealousy flashed across Olivia Song's eyes.

It would be great if this face were mine.

"Why are you here?" The woman looked at her and frowned, the disgust on her face was obvious.

Claire Green reclined back, putting her feet on the coffee table in front, fiddling with her phone in her hand.

"Of course, I came to see if the pig who used my blood had woken up yet."

At these words, how could the mother and daughter in the room not realize Claire Green was insulting them?

The woman, driven by anger, stepped forward without thinking and swung a slap.

But before her hand could reach Claire Green, it was caught by her, who then stood up, patted the woman's face with cold eyes.

"Mrs. Song, being so aggressive isn't good, you'll age faster."

With that, she released the woman's hand, casually grabbing a tissue to wipe her hand.

The woman was frightened by Claire Green's gaze, feeling as if someone was choking her, making her uncomfortable.

Impossible, how could Claire Green have such a terrifying look? The woman shook her head; she must have seen it wrong.

"Claire Green, do you want to rebel?"

As if hearing something amusing, Claire Green's face displayed a teasing smile.

"Don't make it sound like your family has a throne for me to inherit."

Olivia Song, sitting on the hospital bed, watching Claire Green talk like that to her mother, picked up the cup from the table and threw it.

Seeing her actions, Claire Green initially wanted to dodge, but when her gaze landed on the woman, she quickly changed her mind.

Pulling the woman over, the cup hit her face, fell to the floor, and shattered into pieces.

"Tsk, that really hurts." Claire Green commented, looking at the glass shards on the ground.

The pain on her face made the woman cry, with a bruise starting to form where she was hit, indicating how much strength Olivia used.

Olivia Song didn't expect to hit her own mother and felt at a loss.

Seeing Claire Green standing by infuriated her more. She aimed at her, yet Claire dared to dodge.

"Claire Green, how dare you dodge," Olivia Song angrily pointed at Claire Green, her eyes almost spitting fire.

"Did I dodge? Wasn't it Mrs. Song who couldn't bear it and shielded me?"

Claire Green spoke jocularly yet her face remained expressionless.

"Claire Green, what exactly do you want to do, don't forget whose house you're living in now."

The woman, clutching her face, glared venomously at Claire Green.

With her face injured, she wouldn't be able to go out for some time. She had planned to have a facial with friends tomorrow, but now she couldn't even show her face.

"I said I came to see the pig. But what you said is true, I just came from the Gate of Hades. If I did something, it wouldn't be good, don't you agree?"

The woman was indeed right about one thing; the original owner still resided at Song Manor, all her belongings were there. It seemed she needed to go back.

The woman was momentarily speechless; if this was nothing, then where did these injuries on her face come from.

Seeing this, Claire Green smirked, turned around, and left.

Sure enough, the sound of objects being smashed and an angry voice of a woman came from behind.

Standing at the hospital entrance, Claire Green checked the balance on her phone and couldn't help but hold her aching head.

It seems she needs to sort out the money issue first.
