Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Class 6! The Transfer Student

Over the next few days, Claire Green nestled in the hotel, playing games and making a little money.

Claire Green lazily sprawled on the sofa, hands manipulating the game character, expertly delivering a headshot to the opponent.

Just then, a call came in, and without batting an eye, Claire Green hung up directly upon seeing the caller.

At Song Manor, Dane Song saw the call being cut off, his face darkened, and the servant beside him didn't dare to breathe.

"Dad, what's wrong?" Olivia Song had just come downstairs and noticed Dane Song's unpleasant expression, so she couldn't help but ask.

Seeing his daughter, Dane Song's face eased a bit, "How are you feeling, is your body better now?"

"Much better already, thank you for your concern, Dad," Olivia Song sweetly smiled and spoke softly.

Dane Song dialed again, only to be hung up once more. He squinted, pondering deeply.

Previously, Olivia said Claire Green had changed—she not only ran to her hospital room and said many hurtful things but also caused Shumin to get hurt. At that time, he didn't believe it, knowing how timid she was.

Now she dares to hang up on me, it seems she indeed has changed.

Olivia Song sat on the side playing with her phone, actually observing Dane Song's actions all the while.

Her brow subtly furrowed, quickly pursing her lips into a smile, "Dad, are you calling Claire?"

"Yes," Dane Song nodded.

As soon as he spoke, Olivia Song's face turned pale, tears welled up in her eyes, and her body trembled incessantly.

"Dad, is Claire mad at me?"

Seeing his daughter like that, Dane Song became a bit flustered, embraced her awkwardly, and patted her back, "Of course not, she wouldn't dare."

"But..."

"There's no 'but.' It's her duty to provide you with blood, she knows that," Dane Song interrupted her, feeling no sense of coldheartedness in his words.

Olivia Song bowed her head, laughing secretly in her heart.

"Then I'll try calling her," she said, picking up the phone and dialing when Dane Song didn't object.

Claire Green had just finished her game when her phone rang again. Her eyes narrowed—first the old, now the young ones come.

Tossing the phone onto the bed, she turned on speaker mode, and Olivia Song's tearful voice came through.

"Claire, where are you? I'm sorry, I didn't mean it, don't be mad, okay?"

Instantly, goosebumps rose on Claire Green's skin—if there's a crime, let the law punish me, not some lunatic torment my ears.

"Say your piece and scram."

Olivia Song's voice abruptly stopped, clearly not expecting Claire Green to dare speak to her like that.

Seeing his daughter was about to cry again, Dane Song grabbed the phone, "Where are you, come back immediately."

"Who are you," Claire Green said and hung up immediately.

No doubt she knew Dane Song and Olivia Song must be furious by now.

Just as Claire Green expected, Dane Song was in a fury, his phone lying in pieces on the floor.

Olivia Song had never seen him so angry, afraid to make a sound.

The next day, Olivia Song appeared in class with dark circles under her eyes, only to find the normally quiet classroom was now incredibly noisy, with no one paying any attention to her.

She silently walked to her seat and sat down. It was the first time she was ignored, and her mood was terrible.

Eventually, one of her girlfriends saw her first and rushed over, "Olivia, you're here. Didn't rest well last night?"

"Mm, had a nightmare last night."

In fact, she was frightened by her dad's fury last night and couldn't sleep all night.

"What's going on with them today?"

Rae Zander pursed her lips, speaking with annoyance, "Heard there's a transfer student today, a girl, they're discussing her."

"Transfer student," Olivia Song blinked, a bad feeling rising in her heart, "Do you know her name?"

"Not sure, the head teacher just got called away."

The atmosphere in the principal's office was at its lowest point. Lia Zeller, class one's head teacher, originally thought the transfer student would be a top student—after all, switching schools in the senior year is rare. But upon seeing the file, her eyes darkened.

What did she see? The new student had previously attended Virtue Wind High School, known not only for poor academic performance but also for its students' notorious love for trouble. Moreover, she had taken a year's leave of absence—how could such a student enter Brightsong?

"Principal, you're not joking, right?"

The principal lifted his cup of tea, calmly took a sip, grinning at Lia Zeller, "Miss Zeller, do you find any problem here?"

Lia Zeller glanced disdainfully over Claire Green, "I disagree. How can her grades fit in class one?" She paused before continuing, "Besides, she previously studied at Virtue Wind, her conduct must be poor."

In summary, she didn't agree to Claire Green entering class one.

"Miss Zeller, mind your words," the principal nervously glanced at Claire Green, indifferent to the matter, and relaxed only upon seeing her lack of reaction.

How could he not understand Lia Zeller's complaint? The key point was that as of yesterday, the school board had changed owners, and who would've thought that the new board member would appear in his office the very next day?

I take you as the board member, yet you wish to be my student.

"Regardless, I disagree; I think she's better suited for class six, given the company of academic failures."

Class six—upon hearing this, Claire Green finally took an interest, "Then class six it is."

The principal visibly winced, persuading her, "Well, class six is quite poor, class one is our elite class, where you can study well."

Nevertheless, Claire Green casually waved her hand, "Class six suits me."

Seeing this, the principal couldn't help but sigh and dialed the phone, "Grace, come to my office."

Shortly, an oblivious Grace Carter entered the office, politely smiling upon seeing Lia Zeller.

"Principal, you called for me?"

The principal handed her a file, pointing at Claire Green, "She'll be a student in your class from now on."

After reviewing the file, Grace Carter was a bit surprised but not disdainful, merely nodding earnestly.

"Congratulations, Miss Carter, your class just gained another star player," Lia Zeller remarked sarcastically and left immediately.

As long as she's not in class one—this Grace Carter is also an idiot, originally stuck with a group of useless students, and now adding one more, a person who hasn't even attended junior year.

"Well then, Principal, I'll take her to the class now."

"Alright, go ahead."

"Hey, what's Grace off to," a boy in class six wondered curiously.

"Probably bringing the transfer student to our class," replied the boy next to him, adjusting his glasses, engrossed in reading a comic book.

"John, the transfer student's coming to our class," the chubby boy poked the still-sleeping boy, unable to contain his excitement.

The disturbed John Sinclair looked grouchy, his tone gloomy, "Do you want to throw flowers and bow to welcome them?"

"No need for that, haha," the chubby boy patted his head, laughing off awkwardly.

Grace Carter led Claire Green towards class six, unable to hold back from asking midway, "Why did you take a leave of absence previously?"

"The pig got sick, had to save the pig," Claire Green answered while playing on her phone, without lifting her head.

Grace Carter: "..."

This was absurd, you don't look like someone saving a pig, more like someone who might slaughter one.

With one sentence, Claire Green killed the conversation, leaving them in silence as they headed to class six.
