Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: M.K Website

The sudden downpour caught everyone off guard, and as people scrambled for shelter, only Claire Green strolled casually in the rain, unfazed by getting wet.

All of this was clearly observed by someone in a nearby car.

Amusing indeed.

The passenger side door opened, and a man got in, noticing his soaked jacket, he began to complain, "This rain came at the worst time, this jacket is ruined."

The person in the backseat, upon hearing his complaint, did not spare him a glance, while the driver merely smirked.

"Mr. Quinn, you should take off the jacket. The BOSS doesn't like it."

After a moment, Mason Quinn swiftly discarded his jacket to the side.

How could he forget that the guy in the backseat was a cleanliness freak?

Turning his head, he noticed the person in the backseat staring out the window, an unexpected curve forming on his lips as if he saw something amusing.

Am I seeing things? Did Julian Sia just smile? Mason Quinn couldn't believe his eyes as they widened in disbelief.

Maybe his stare was too intense, as Julian Sia's deep voice suddenly sounded, "Don't want your eyes anymore?"

Frightened by the words, Mason Quinn immediately retracted his gaze and tucked his head back, surely he must have been mistaken. There's no way Julian Sia, who even threatens his friends, would smile.

"Mr. Sia, what are you looking at?" Mason Quinn followed his gaze to see an empty intersection.

Julian Sia withdrew his gaze, "Nothing, let's go."

The car quickly drove away, leaving Mason Quinn a bit doubtful of Julian's words, but he soon forgot about it.

Meanwhile, Claire Green had quickly changed clothes and, with a mask on, left the hotel.

"Boot up a machine," the girl engrossed in watching dramas at the cash register suddenly heard someone and scrambled to her feet.

The person in front of her was wearing a plain white hoodie, with the hood covering her head and a black mask obscuring her face, only her eyes were visible.

Yet, it couldn't hide her lazy aura; the girl wondered if this was some celebrity sneaking out to surf the internet incognito.

"Knock knock—" Claire Green lowered her eyes, her slender fingers tapped the bar, making a crisp sound.

"Uh, what did you just say?" The girl, back to reality, blushed with embarrassment and asked.

Claire Green pushed her ID over, repeating with a flat tone, "Boot up a machine."

"Okay," the girl quickly grabbed the ID and, driven by curiosity, glanced at the photo on the card, thinking to herself, truly a beauty.

Seeing the girl stunned again, Claire Green's face beneath the mask showed a helpless expression, "Your ID."

Startled by the voice, the girl realized she had zoned out again, she quickly turned on the computer and returned the ID, "Sorry, it wasn't on purpose."

Claire Green nodded, took back her ID, and found a machine in the corner.

The girl relieved that Claire wasn't angry, internally praised her, and continued with her drama.

Opening the computer, Claire Green's fingers flew across the keyboard, and various numbers and symbols appeared on the screen. After hitting the enter key, a site called M.K appeared in front of her.

Ordinary people might not know this website, but anyone who studies computers knows M.K as the hacker's playground of the world, filled with elite hackers. Logging onto M.K isn't as simple as writing a bit of code.

To get in, one must first pass the website's entry test, which is where most people fail.

After passing the test, one becomes a regular member, needing to take jobs and earn points to ascend in rank.

Claire Green sat in front of the computer, thoughtfully touching her chin as she read the scrolling rules of the site, finding them interesting.

The faint light from the computer screen illuminated Claire Green's face, her fingers rapidly tapped the keyboard, and characters on the screen began to jump, deciphering the entry test.

It turned out, Claire Green had already developed an automatic decryption program from the start.

Having completed the decryption, the computer screen changed to reveal a forum-like page.

The M.K site was lively at the moment.

[Nether Lord: Haven't seen Old Cat lately.]

[Spirit Fox: Don't you know, he hacked Thomas Skin's company. He's being chased everywhere now.]

[Bluebird: Haha, he's finally met his match.]

[Garfield: Damn it, Spirit Fox, was it you who sold me out? No matter where I hide, he finds me. Turns out it was you helping him.]

[Garfield: Thomas Skin's crazy about catching me, doesn't even care about his company anymore. Is it just for hacking one system? Is it necessary?]

[Spirit Fox: I'm just doing my job for money, Old Cat, better go back with Thomas Skin.]

[Garfield: Hell no.]

[Drake White: Old Cat, need help? If the money's right, leave Thomas Skin to me.]

[Bluebird: Here comes the money grubber.]

The rest of the online users watched the heavy hitters appear and dared not say a word.

Then a statement caught everyone's attention, [J: Taking jobs, 100% success rate.]

Indeed, this speaker was Claire Green. Seeing the conversation between Spirit Fox and others, she sensed an opportunity.

When Garfield and the others saw such an arrogant statement, they instinctively checked Claire Green's profile, with "Regular Member" in large, glaring letters, leaving them speechless.

[Garfield: Wow, that's bold of you.]

[Drake White: Stealing my client? You've got guts.]

[Spirit Fox: I'll have to test you myself.]

With that sentence, Claire Green raised an eyebrow and saw her computer screen start to act uncontrollably.

Claire Green's lips curled into a faint smile, her eyes amused as she began her counterattack with ease.

In just a moment, the computer returned to normal, while on a distant island across the ocean, a man with a head of messy hair stared in disbelief at his defunct computer. How was this possible?

The broken computer before him was proof enough, that person was truly skilled.

[Spirit Fox: I'm speechless.]

Garfield and the others didn't need any more explanation; Spirit Fox actually lost. It was incredible.

[J: Thanks for your guidance.]

Those four words left Spirit Fox choked with fury, was he being provoked?

[Garfield: I have a job, help me elude Thomas Skin, will you take it?]

[J: 5 million, transfer to this account.]

Claire Green thought of the original owner's bank account number and sent it over.

5 million wasn't much for Garfield, and soon Claire Green heard the sound of a text message on her phone.

She opened it to see the money had arrived.

[Garfield: Done.]

[J: OK.]

After leisurely tapping out the two letters, Claire Green's eyes focused on the computer, her hands never pausing.

Unhurriedly hacking into Thomas Skin's computer, she erased all info on Garfield, even creating a few virtual addresses to cover Garfield's real location.

Garfield, who was prepared for a long wait, didn't expect Claire Green to reappear so quickly.

[J: Done, I even concealed your location as a gesture of goodwill.]

The message was like a stone thrown into the lake, causing ripples of awe.

Everyone on the forum was silent for a moment, then erupted.

[Rough Guy: Damn, that was fast.]

[Neighbor Wang: J's got some wild skills.]

[I Am A Sheep: A true expert emerges, I'm in awe.]

Regarding the chaos on the forum, Claire Green showed no reaction, only leaving one last message before shutting down the computer.

[J: Contact me directly for jobs.]
