Chapter 29 - SysDi 29: A Message Sent

With Iva promising that it will get the translation ready in a few days still, Evan went back home.

He did to some meditation, trying to lessen his mental exhaustion for the day. He knew that from how many things he had done today, even sleep would not be enough to replenish his usage for the Simulation Zone for tomorrow.

Soon enough, his parents arrived. He ate dinner with them. Then, he went back to his room.

Time passed by and morning comes.

Then, again, the night passed and the morning goes.

For two days, Evan didn't explore the stone hill cave yet, knowing that he would have to wait for Iva's translation before he could.

While he is waiting, he instead went to use the Simulation Zone Slime Dungeon that he had. It was easier to practice his actual sword wielding while he is on there. Not to mention that was his initial plan in the first place.

He also found out that he is also getting something from the slime. He didn't notice that they leave behind something that can be taken from where they die, which he can just pick up but haven't done so before.

He placed them on his item inventory and just leave it be. Evan knew they might be helpful for him soon enough.

Evan finished reading the other two books he had left in his possession. He got new ideas that he wanted to try after reading both.

Reading books, though it is time-consuming, seems to be worthwhile.

Evan is just about to get started to meditation when there is a knock on the door.

It's not on his room door, but on the front door. He furrowed his eyebrows. His parents would not have knocked on their door.

Knowing that he had to be careful so there was no repeat of the time where unknown men came in, he didn't respond in the meantime.

But then, the knocking being even more insistent. "Hello? Evan Rotewed? I bare news from from Lady Spire Valrepite."

Evan's eyes widened. Spire Valrepite. The fox-child that he had helped?

He made his way out the room and made his way towards the front door. He opened the door for a moment, looking at who it was.

The man is covered from head to toe with clothes, but he bore the color of red and purple, the same shade of purple that Evan saw Spire wearing when she ended up here.

"Is there something you need?" He asked.

"Evan Rotewed?" When Evan nodded his head, the man nods his head back. He opens a messenger bag and hands him an envelop.

It was a plain white envelope, making Evan stare at it for a moment. White paper is scarce and it meant status of nobility and power. There is also a wax seal that made sure the envelope is close. On it, is an embossed symbol of a fox in front of a giant tree.

"The Master Theobald had made some arrangements. There will be instructions within. We will await a reply, Young Master Evan."

Evan couldn't stop the grimace on his face. "Please don't call me that. Evan is fine. Thank you. I will talk to my parents tonight."

The man bowed his head and left. Meanwhile, Evan closed the door and went back to his room.

He placed the envelope inside his items inventory, for fear of getting it dirty. He has no idea what Spire and her dad wants with him, but he wanted to read what it says once he has his parents with him.

It had been a while since he had last heard from Spire. He hopes she's doing well and not kidnapped again. He's already included her as a friend, so it would make him sad if something happens to her.

Evan laid on his mat and closed his eyes. It was time for meditation after all.

'Two days of absence~' Not even three minutes into meditation and Iva's voice rang inside his head.

Evan sighs and opens his eyes, shifting to seat in a more comfortable way and not in the meditative way was in earlier. "Hey Iva." He replied.

Iva giggles. 'Miss me, Evan?'

Evan shook his head. "No, I didn't. Were you done with the translation?"

Iva huffs. 'Meanie! You can't even ask how I am?'

When Evan didn't bother replying, Iva huffs again. 'Fineeeee! It took me ages, but I got the translation done. There's an issue though.'

"What is it?" Evan asked, his eyebrows furrowed.

'It doesn't make any sense.' Iva sighs. 'Can you summon me out?'

Evan shrugs. "Sure, I can do that." He looks at and empty spot on the ground. "Summon Pet Iva."

A faint light shines a little before Iva the slime appears. Iva's as a slime looks different. It's not in the same shade or color as the blue ones they saw. Now, Iva looks more purple than it would normally. But the same star is below Iva's right eye. Instead of only one though, there is one for each eye.

"Why are you purple?" Evan asked as he leans closer and pokes the slime.

"I'm purple?" Iva echoes. "Anyway, not the point. The translation doesn't make any sense. It's essentially saying that you can get in the cave safely with only one way but it gets cut off."

"Gets cut off? How?" Evan asks, patting his thigh for Iva to come to him.

Iva the slime just bounced and let Evan squish it when it moves closer. "Like there is more to it than that. Maybe someone wasn't able to finish their thought while writing it? I'm not sure. Either way, Exiel script is the hardest thing to translate because of the curls."

Evan ignores its complaints. "Well, I waited for your translation because I think it might be helpful. If it doesn't say anything about the way, I could just go there again. I still have less than two weeks before the entrance exams. I'll explore after I meditate. You're coming with me."

Iva sighs but knew it had no choice but to come with.
