Sivaranjini's Battle: The Thorns of Survival
As Haritha's commands echoed, Sivaranjini stepped forward, her expression focused and calm. Though this was her first real battle, she didn't flinch.
"Let nature answer our call," she whispered.
She placed her hand on the ground. In an instant, thick emerald vines surged from the soil like awakened beasts, coiling up walls, snaking down paths, and forming a protective web around A Building.
The first wave came—three bear-sized lizards covered in bone-like armor, crashing through debris from the east. Sivaranjini raised both arms, her eyes glowing faintly green. The vines responded like limbs of a living creature, shooting forward and wrapping tightly around the monsters' legs.
WHIP! CRACK!
A barbed vine lashed around a lizard's throat, pulling it backward and slamming it into a tree. The other two thrashed, trying to move, but the vines only dug deeper, bursting through their armor in weak spots.
She gritted her teeth. "Thorns... now!"
The vines hardened and sprouted razor-sharp thorns, shredding through the beasts. Screeches filled the air as two of the creatures collapsed, bleeding out.
But the last one wasn't going down easily.
It opened its mouth and fired a sonic screech, breaking a few vines and pushing forward.
Sivaranjini stumbled back slightly, her ears ringing. But before the beast could charge again, she slammed her foot on the ground and yelled, "Root Bind!"
The earth beneath the monster cracked open and thick tree roots surged up, entangling it mid-air and yanking it back like a hunted beast in a trap. It struggled, roared—and then a massive wooden spike burst from below, impaling it through the gut.
It fell limp.
Breathing heavily, Sivaranjini wiped sweat from her forehead. She looked around. Her barricades were holding. The healers and support users were safe.
Haritha called out again, "New wave incoming from the north—Rank 2 flying beasts!"
Sivaranjini nodded. "I'll raise spiked vines as an aerial shield."
Thick vines curled and spread across rooftops, forming a dome of thorns to intercept incoming monsters.
With every move, she fought not just for herself—but for her classmates, her friends, and the hope of survival.
She was no longer just a student.
She was nature's shield.
Dhaya's Team: The Unbreakable Front
As Akash soared into the sky to battle the golden eagle, and Sivaranjini's vines wrapped the campus in nature's defense, another group dashed through the broken campus gates—Dhaya, Rohith, Praveen, and Bhuvanesh.
"Let's head to the east wing," Dhaya said. "I sensed movement there. A lot of it."
Praveen, his eyes glowing faintly purple, nodded. "Shadows are restless. Something is coming."
They sprinted across broken pavement and cracked buildings, leaping over debris. As they neared a collapsed library hall, they heard it—a guttural growl, followed by the crashing sound of multiple limbs.
Three six-legged panther-like monsters, cloaked in shadow, emerged from the rubble. Their eyes glowed red, and saliva dripped from their jagged maws.
"Split up!" Dhaya shouted. "Rohith, give aerial support! Bhuvanesh, take the left! Praveen, go shadow form and distract!"
Rohith took a deep breath and launched into the air, his wind ability propelling him upward. He waved his hand, and a strong gust swept one of the panthers into a nearby wall, dazing it.
Bhuvanesh stepped forward. "Laser eyes, full power!"
Twin beams of concentrated energy burst from his eyes, searing across the battlefield. The beam sliced off one panther's foreleg, sending it tumbling to the ground howling.
Just then, Praveen melted into shadows, weaving between the panthers like smoke. He emerged behind one of them, transformed partly into his Shadow Wolf form—long claws and sharp eyes glowing violet.
He slashed across the panther's back, tearing muscle and making it whirl in pain.
Now it was Dhaya's turn.
He slammed his foot into the ground. The earth cracked, rumbled—and massive spikes of stone erupted under the largest monster, launching it into the air.
"Earth Gauntlets!" he shouted, his fists encased in rock.
He leapt—yes, leapt—and punched the falling beast mid-air with such force that it exploded into rubble and blood, crashing down lifeless.
The ground shook.
The remaining two tried to escape, but Rohith formed a cyclone of wind that trapped one, and Bhuvanesh's lasers sliced the other in half.
The battle ended in under a minute.
Breathing heavily, Dhaya said, "Good job, team. Let's keep moving. Survivors might be trapped in the east building."
Praveen, half-shadow, half-human, grinned. "Let's show these monsters what we're made of."
The four of them moved forward—united, determined, and ready to fight.
They weren't the strongest.
But together, they were unstoppable.
