Bang!

Shuck forcefully smashed the bottle he was holding onto the ground, shattering it, causing the human couple standing opposite to tremble inside.

"I said you were speeding, and you were! You dare to have a problem with that?"

Having dealt with a night full of troubles, Shuck, under the guise of patrolling, drank quite a bit to relieve his frustration. To vent his inner annoyance, he intercepted a normally driving car using his credentials, then brought the couple from the Sun and Moon Country into an alley for a lesson.

Clearly intoxicated, he suddenly stepped forward. "Drop it! Put your damn phone down!"

Shuck snatched the man's phone, glanced at the recording on the screen, and scoffed, "Hah, still trying to record?"

"Human, come on, record again!"

"Damn, just like the dog caught today, a small country with no sovereignty even sets up special agencies, what a joke!"

"A mere dog still acts so arrogantly… just the prestige of a dog relying on its master."

"When I have a higher official position, I'll see how many barking dogs there are in this city, and you humans, disgustingly walking on the streets day by day. Sooner or later, this city will become the realm of our mixed-blood…"

"Stop it, don't hit… please, don't hit, we'll pay the fine…"

"You're abusing your power!"

"Little beauty, whether I'm abusing my power or not isn't for you to decide."

Shuck paused, looking at the man clutching his right leg on the ground, completely losing his sanity. "You damned bastard!"

He forcefully raised his own right leg, then ruthlessly stomped down. The woman screamed and rushed forward, trying to protect her husband.

She successfully prevented Shuck from stomping on the man's right leg. Without thinking, she quickly pulled up her husband and ran towards the outside of the alley, praying that this damn law enforcer wouldn't chase them.

He didn't.

Because at this moment, Shuck found his legs frozen by frost, unable to move.

"Who… get out, you…"

Shuck's irate voice abruptly stopped as he saw a magical array that made him feel a terrifying pressure in his line of sight.

"Who… don't… don't…"

Swish, swish, swish—

Countless frost shards shot out like sharp blades, piercing his massive body.

Blood spurted, splattering the walls and floor.

Shuck shivered uncontrollably!

Splatter, splatter, splatter…

"Ah… mercy, spare… me…"

His mouth and throat were pierced through!

Only the sound of frost cutting through the air remained. His body grew smaller and smaller, forcibly crushed into minced flesh by the relentless onslaught of ice!

It turned into a messy pulp.

Hiss, hiss, hiss—

The frost covered all the blood and minced flesh. As the evening breeze blew through, not a trace remained.

Living room.

Standing by the windows, Xia Yushuang put down her right hand and drew back her gaze to close the curtains.

'What breakfast to prepare tomorrow morning?'

She turned off the lights and went to bed.

The sky turned pale as the sun rose.

"Ding—door is open."

As the sound of the door lock opening resonated, Xia Yushuang withdrew her right hand and entered the room.

Closing the door, she reached for slippers from the shoe cabinet, stood upright, her ice-blue eyes slightly narrowed. Taking a deep breath—

For quite a while, she slowly exhaled the inhaled air.

The familiar scent filled the living room, without any other extra odors.

Stepping forward, the navy checkered skirt swayed gently, revealing flashes of white jade skin of her legs beneath the early morning sun.

Pushing open the bedroom door—

Ding, ding, ding, ding.

Xia Yushuang walked over and picked up the phone she had bought for him. There were a total of eight alarms set, and this was the eighth.

The roaring alarm couldn't wake up the peacefully sleeping Su Yuchen in bed.

Turning off the alarm, Xia Yushuang looked at Su Yuchen, who was holding a sword-wielding anime figurine in one hand.

There was no snoring, his breathing was steady, but even so, the first glance made anyone panic, feeling as if the person in bed had died.

Because the left hand, holding the sword-wielding anime figurine, had drops of blood dripping from the knuckles, forming red dots on the tiled floor.

There were dried black-red spots and freshly dropped crimson ones.

Sleeping?

Perhaps there was an element of unconsciousness too?

Xia Yushuang's expression remained unchanged; she had gotten used to his seven-day sequence: sleeping peacefully at night, only to be hit in the face by the figurine on the headboard and then, upon waking up, too lazy to get up, he would hold it in his hand, resulting in being scratched by the resin-made long sword.

Her childhood friend unfortunately….was bound to misfortune.

Squatting down, Xia Yushuang took the bikini-wielding anime figurine from Su Yuchen's hand and placed it on the bedside table. She looked at the wound in his palm and gently covered it with her own hand.

The wound healed.

"He's bleeding, yet he sleeps so carelessly."

Xia Yushuang stared at Su Yuchen's sleeping face. While thinking, she lightly massaged his left hand. Under the sunlight filtering through the seams, her cold face seem to take on a soft halo.

Finally retracting her gaze, she tucked Su Yuchen's left hand back under the covers. Xia Yushuang stood up and left the bedroom, heading into the kitchen to don an apron and prepare breakfast.

Where's the kitchen knife, where's the frying pan… she was very familiar with everything in the kitchen because she had arranged the utensils herself.

Although familiar, the feeling of warmth at home completely eluded her. The rising heat from the frying pan, sucked away by the exhaust fan, sharply contrasted with her cold demeanor.

After quickly preparing breakfast and placing it on the table, Xia Yushuang removed her apron, washed her hands, and returned to the bedroom.

Su Yuchen's sleeping posture remained unchanged; even the curve formed by the blankets hadn't altered much. His tense body slightly relaxed, and for this half-hour, he hadn't been struck by anything weird.

However… there was still a slight change in a certain angle on his lower body that Xia Yushuang hadn't noticed before entering.

She moved her fingers slightly, eventually clenching her fist. Her gaze returned to Su Yuchen's face.

After staring for a while, she slowly leaned down.

Underneath the navy checkered skirt, her shapely thighs and slender, smooth legs were close together. With the motion of her leaning forward, the hem of the skirt lifted, clinging to her thighs, revealing exquisite curves.

Her over-the-shoulder ice-blue hair hung down, and she brushed it behind her ear. Sunlight illuminated tiny specks of dust in the air, casting a faint halo on her cheek…

Her eyebrows twitched slightly, and the gradually awakening Su Yuchen caught a faint, lotus-like scent.

He opened his eyes.

Shifting his gaze upward, he was met with a pair of ice-blue eyes.

A bit chilly.

"Are you awake?"

The familiar, indifferent tone—one he heard every day since arriving in this city for a week.

"Oh, awake."

His response, just like every other day before.

Xia Yushuang straightened up, her face cold as she stared at him—

"It would be nice if you didn't wake up."
