In the alley.
"Not here either. Where could I have lost it…"
As Kristia, preparing to sleep, found her graduate student ID missing, she sat in distress in the alley, propping her chin on her hand. "Please, let it not be taken by that human. If he finds it, I'm done for."
Not only had her real identity been captured in a photo, but if her graduate ID was also taken, her disguised appearance would be revealed.
What's even more crucial was that the person was a freshman. If they met at school, she'd be completely vulnerable.
"That damn virgin!" Kristia gritted her teeth, still recalling the embarrassment of that guy slapping her butt!
A mere human dared to disgrace her noble lineage—unforgivable!
"But his blood tasted so good…"
Kristia involuntarily licked her red lips, savoring the memory… that delicious blood, even if it was just a few drops…
Why did a human male have such delicious blood?
Powerful and agile… Where did that damn virgin come from? Disguised as a freshman, what was his intention?
"Ah, please don't let him find it!"
Pulling her hair, Kristia sighed softly, then stood up. "Let's search again. If not, I'll just go to sleep… Ancestors slumbering in the river of blood, please don't let Su Yuchen find my graduate ID."
…
Su Yuchen, back home, lay sprawled on the sofa. So much had happened on his very first day, quite an 'unfortunate' start.
He stared at the ceiling, still contemplating the details of being with the vampire.
This was a chance to escape from his 'unfortunate' disposition—a life accustomed to various mishaps for eighteen years. Who would want to be unlucky forever if given a choice?
"All these years, I've only felt like this when I was around her…."
Su Yuchen furrowed his brow, his murmurs carrying a hint of uncertainty.
He sighed lightly, taking out the graduate ID from his pocket and raising it. "Tia Yufei, clearly a fake name."
Among the upper-class bloodlines of the vampires, there was no Yufei clan. Moreover, the pure blood that vampire possessed couldn't be from a lower-class clan.
"But knowing what you look like in school, I will uncover your identity sooner or later." Su Yuchen flicked her graduate ID. "Senior sister, you must be quite intelligent. Let's play this slowly."
Tossing the graduate ID aside, he retrieved his phone, unlocked the screen, and found a message that arrived seven minutes ago when he returned to the residential area.
[Yushuang]: Have you arrived home? I'll help you get familiar with the school tomorrow morning.
[My sister is the best]: No need, there's a class meeting in the afternoon, so I'll head to school then.
Is she being this attentive? Thinking so, Su Yuchen was about to put down his phone after replying to the message.
Buzz.
The phone vibrated, grazing the scab on his palm. Fumbling, his fingers slid across the screen in a rush.
Thud.
The phone fell to the floor again.
Rolling his eyes, he picked up the phone; luckily, this time, the screen didn't crack.
[Yushuang]: The school is so big, can you manage? Also, change your nickname, you pervert.
"Instant reply?" Su Yuchen muttered as he started typing.
[My sister is the best]: This is a name I've fought hard for… Otherwise, it'd be something like 'Most fond of my little sister.' If I change it, she'll definitely call me immediately… and then I'll end up sleeping late again.
[Yushuang]: I've taken a screenshot.
[My sister is the best]: It's so late, aren't you sleeping?
[Yushuang]: I am.
[My sister is the best]: Oh, goodnight.
"Wouldn't really send this screenshot to her, right?"
Su Yuchen felt a bit nervous. It wasn't that he didn't like chatting with his sister, but she could be quite exhausting to talk to sometimes.
"Whatever, let it be."
Entering the bedroom, he switched on the light, tossed the phone onto the bed, then headed to the bathroom. After an incident where he slipped and scraped his knee, he finally emerged from the shower.
Charging the phone, he settled into bed, glancing at the bikini-clad sword-wielding figurine on his bedside table. "Continue smashing me tonight. Goodnight."
Lights off, time for sleep.
…
Apartment 2001, 20th floor, Block 2, Ding Sheng Community.
Xia Yushuang stared at the phone screen, her fingers hovering over the 'goodnight' she typed in the chat box, then deleting it.
"Seeing him after ten years, he doesn't seem as happy as I imagined."
"Should I have said goodbye instead of leaving so quietly back then?"
Placing the phone on her chest, it suddenly vibrated. Quickly picking it up, she checked the message—it wasn't from Su Yuchen.
It was from Su Yuxi.
[My brother is the best]: Brother was taken away by the Magic Adjudication Bureau, you didn't know, did you?
Looking at the message from Su Yuxi, Xia Yushuang's expression remained unchanged. However, her thoughts contradicted her stoic face.
'I indeed didn't know, it's not good to be taken away by the authorities…but why is she so smug? Proud that she knows something I don't?'
Since she was young, she had wondered if Su Yuxi was too attached to her brother. It seemed even more pronounced after ten years…
[Yushuang]: He's back?
[My brother is the best]: Yes.
Su Yuxi lay on the bed, looking at the message from the contact labeled 'Fox Demoness,' mumbling softly, "You don't live with Brother, so why phrase it as 'he's back'? It makes it sound like you're living together. I won't allow you to live together…"
Thinking about the outrageous things she did to her brother during his week-long visit to Sky City, she got a little angry and muttered, "Damned demoness."
[My brother is the best]: Brother was insulted as a dog, didn't you know?
Su Yuxi continued typing.
[My brother is the best]: They first discriminated against him for being from the eastern mainland, then called him a dog…
"Damned mixed breed!"
The more she typed, the angrier Su Yuxi got. How dare they insult her brother? Why insult him? A mixed-blood dog with the heart full of discrimination!
Taking a deep breath to ease the anger within, Su Yuxi sent the message she had typed.
"Hmph, a woman who isn't persistently defending my brother isn't worthy of being with him. I won't acknowledge you as my sister-in-law."
"Those who maliciously insult my brother are all jerks!"
Under the bedside lamp, Su Yuxi's delicate face showed a cruelty unfitting for her age…
