Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: It's done, let's eat first.

Fielder had added modern elements to the maid's outfit, with the skirt cut above the knee, and the sleeves changed to short sleeves, and although there was no all-important black or white silk, looking at the crystalline rounded toes, and smooth white thighs, was already considered pleasing to the eye.

"It fits." Ashina couldn't stand the torture of guessing, and with a teasing tone, as if she saw through Feld's purpose, "Do you want me to do anything, my lord?"

Her job, the maids said was to sleep with the man in front of her. But Ashena felt it was unlikely, as humans hated subhumans, with animal ears and tails, making humans feel that it was human blood tainted by animals, like a demonic bastard born after going and scheming on a goat.

"Assisting me with my territory, of course, as I just said." Fielder answered rightfully, and seeing Ashina's face of disbelief, he could only cover his forehead and helplessly say, "Let's eat first, let's talk while we eat."

Hearing eat, Ashina immediately calmed down, her hungry stomach was burning.

Fielder was in a difficult situation, being loathed by a group of siblings wasn't a big deal just in terms of behavior and demeanor.

But the old earl's health was getting worse by the day, and the huge property in his hands was about to be distributed, and even if Feld was not favored, the law of the Holy Griffin Empire stipulated that as long as there was a direct line of blood, one had the right to distribute the property.

It was equivalent to the otherworldly version of the Push Grace Order, which divided large territories into smaller pieces to avoid a certain lord from being too powerful.

Therefore, Field's brothers naturally wished for Field to rise up in place, and they hated each other with hostility.

Shortly after the dining bell rang, two demure maidservants came in with meat chops in sauce and honey bread.

"Ashina, you have... Hey, where is everyone?"

Feld, who was weighing his vocabulary, was filled with confusion when he turned his eyes and realized that Ashena was gone.

"I'm here."

Ashina sat peacefully on the floor in the corner of the wall in a duck-sitting position.

"What are you doing?" Felder said in shock.

"Uh... Sitting... Waiting for dinner, my lord, did I do something wrong there?" Ashena tensed up again.

Fylde took a large step forward and tugged on her hand, leading her to the table, "Sit in your chair, now eat."

Ashina only dared to sit a third of the way up the stool, she stared at Feld for a long moment to make sure the noble lord in front of her didn't pull out a whip or a meat whip.

"You weren't kidding, can I eat this?" Ashena gestured to the aromatic cutlet.

Feld spread his hands, "Of course."

Seeing that Fielder didn't look like he was joking, the poor beast-eared lady carefully lowered her head and nibbled on the meat chop. In the next moment, the meat flavor with spices and sauce blossomed in her mouth, and her taste buds, which hadn't tasted meat in I don't know how long, simply danced like crazy.

It was the best thing in the world!

Putting all that behind her, Ashina quickly devoured the cutlet on her plate and licked the broth clean.

Ashena then wiped out three meat chops and five pieces of white bread by herself, before finally giving up on eating as her stomach became as pregnant as she was.

Fielder revealed a kind smile like that of an old father.

Jie Jie Jie, eat eat eat, work hard for me in the future.

"Phew, now I'm willing to die even if I have to." Ashina licked the soup off the corner of her mouth, her two wolf ears perked up in great spirit.

"That's not so bad, I was hoping to train you as a Chosen One." Feld crossed his fingers and leaned back in his chair.

He certainly wouldn't be honest enough, to reveal that Asuna was a Chosen One who hadn't yet awakened, but instead used the word cultivate.

"Huh? You may be disappointed then, the probability of a Chosen of God is slim to none, and since I'm a subhuman, I've never heard of a rumor of a human and a subhuman entering into a contract." Asuna replied weakly.

According to the book, the more prosperous a large city was, the more likely it was that a Divine Chosen would appear. But even in Golden Eagle City, there were only three Chosen of God in a hundred years, two of which were children of nobles and one of which was a clergyman.

It was even less for subhumans to become Chosen of God, they didn't have a powerful country or prosperous city, and the subsistence line was hard to touch.

Felder laughed softly, ''How will I know if I don't try? I believe I can cultivate you into a Chosen of God."

If he couldn't be trained, 80% of himself would die in the cursed land.

"Well, if there's meat to eat." Ashina licked the corner of her mouth with intent.

The next ten days passed quickly in the rush, and in order to replenish Ashina's nutrition, Field would buy a large amount of meat and magic potion supplements every time he passed by a city.

Ashina quickly realized that Fields wasn't joking.

On top of that, Fielder purchased 150 gold coins worth of Fog Repelling Lamps, Purification Potions, and Awakening Crystals. Fielder had done his homework, and these magic props were essential supplies for pioneering the Nightfall Territory.

He soon arrived at the last fortress leading to the Northern Province.

The Bull Baron's Click Mountain Fortress, a stone castle built on a tall mountain range, could withstand the corrupted creatures, magical beasts, and terrifying orcs from the North.

"Blessed be the Goddess of Winter, make me a Chosen One!" Ashena hid in the creaking carriage and silently prayed to the gods of the Wolf Subhumans, these days gave Ashena the illusion of dreaming.

Being able to ride in a noble carriage, eat delicious cutlets, and even have the care and service of maids, though they were not voluntary and often complained.

But these days were already comparable to heaven. Just as she was thinking, Ashena also touched her forehead to make sure that she didn't mess up her head with fever.

The only thing she found hard to understand was that Feld would buy precious magic potions for her to drink, never having heard of a Chosen One being able to get out of it by eating magic potions.

"Maybe it's an evil ritual." Ashina muttered, "But even if it's really sacrificed to the devil, it seems worth it. Blah blah blah, what am I talking about!"

"Aigoo, I really hope I'm really God's Chosen, otherwise Baron Feld will be furious, right?" Ashina could only pray silently.

Butler Kao sighed in despair, "Ai, I didn't expect that the last time I came to Click Mountain Fortress would be this way."

Feld ignored the bastard's long booing and sighed, sat on his horse, gently poked the steward's shoulder with his riding crop, and curiously inquired, "You often came to Click Mountain Fortress before?"

Caor rolled his eyes, "No, you always donate your living expenses, to the villagers here, or send it to the Bull Baron's small treasury, so that he and his soldiers, can eat, drink and be merry."

"Uh, okay." The corners of Feld's mouth twitched, forgetting the whole thing about the original owner being the great and the good, and he smiled awkwardly, shrugging his shoulders unnaturally, "At least the Bull Baron will be very welcoming won't he? The locals will also praise us, and it will be much easier to enter and exit the Click Mountain Fortress in the future."
