Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: The Disappearance of the Lyney Siblings

After the duel with Clorinde, Yide took a bath to wash away his fatigue and sweat.

Refreshed after his bath, he returned to his chair and immersed himself in his books.

Recently, he had been focusing on reading books about the history of Fontaine, hoping to find other ways to avert the prophecy.

Besides the Narzissenkreuz Ordo mentioned in the game's side quests, Remus, the god king of a thousand years ago, had also sought ways to break the prophecy.

However, the method he adopted was far too extreme, attempting to transfer human consciousness into statues to achieve their ascension.

But this approach clearly violated the laws of nature.

Statues could not truly bear human consciousness, and all Fontainians who attempted statue ascension fell into extreme madness and chaos, ultimately leading to their destruction.

Although Remus's method was flawed, the problem-solving approach was very inspiring to Yide.

Perhaps, he could transfer Furina' consciousness into another body.

However, this idea faced a huge challenge—what in this world could bear the consciousness of a god?

Just as Yide was lost in thought, Old Dirk approached with a worried expression.

"Master Yide, young Master Lyney and Miss Lynette have not yet returned. I'm worried they may have encountered an accident outside."

Hearing this, Yide's face instantly darkened.

Lyney and Lynette cherished their current life and would always return on time or even early whenever they went out.

Their delayed return this time clearly indicated that they had encountered an unusual situation.

He stood up from his chair and said in a deep voice, "Uncle Dirk, I will be back very late tonight."

After saying that, Yide walked out without looking back.

After spending some time together, he had long regarded Lyney and Lynette as his family.

Now, someone dared to harm them, which made Yide extremely angry, and his eyes burned with flames of violence and destruction.

As night fell, Yide stood before the gate of a magnificent noble manor.

Just as he was about to enter the manor, two burly guards suddenly blocked his path.

One of the guards widened his eyes and shouted sternly, "Who are you? Without Baron Aphton's invitation, no one is allowed to enter the manor!"

Yide glanced at him coldly, his tone icy: "My name is Yide. If you don't want to die, get out of my way."

Hearing the name "Yide," the two guards immediately became terrified. They had heard many terrifying rumors about the West Factory, and they dared not obstruct him in the slightest.

Yide wasted no time and strode towards the luxurious villa deep within the manor.

Every step seemed firm and powerful, and nothing could stop his progress.

When he reached the villa door, he didn't hesitate. He suddenly raised his foot and kicked it hard.

With a loud bang, the villa door was kicked open, sending wood splinters flying.

At that moment, Aphton was sitting at the dining table, leisurely enjoying his lavish dinner. The candlelight illuminated the gleaming silver cutlery, and the delicious food emitted an enticing aroma.

He savored the food while anticipating another, even more delicious "dinner" that was about to come.

When Yide appeared before him, he was stunned in place, the smile on his face instantly frozen.

"Yide, what… what… do you want?" Aphton's voice trembled slightly, his face filled with panic and unease.

Yide didn't answer his question, but slowly approached Aphton.

Then, he suddenly acted, violently slamming Aphton's ugly, fat face into the steak he had just been enjoying.

Aphton struggled desperately, his hands flailing wildly, trying to break free from Yide's grip.

But in Yide's iron grip, he was like a weak chick, completely unable to fight back.

His face was pressed hard against the steak, and greasy gravy and residue covered his face, making him look extremely disheveled.

Yide didn't stop there. He continued to press down on Aphton's head, preventing him from breathing.

After a long time, Yide slowly released his hand, allowing Aphton to catch his breath.

Yide's eyes burned as he demanded, "Speak! Where are Lyney and Lynette?"

His voice was as cold as ice, like the unmelting glaciers of the northernmost reaches of Snezhnaya.

Aphton tried to struggle, but Yide's gaze filled him with an unprecedented fear.

He swallowed hard, trying to deny it: "I… I really don't know."

Yide quickly picked up the sharp knife and fork that had been used to cut the steak and mercilessly pinned Aphton's left hand to the dining table.

Instantly, blood splattered, staining the entire table red, and Aphton let out a shrill scream, his face filled with extreme horror and despair.

"Where are Lyney and Lynette? This is the second time I'm asking."

Aphton's wails echoed in the empty dining room, the intense pain almost unbearable. He sobbed, his voice filled with innocence and fear: "I really don't know! Their disappearance has nothing to do with me!"

Yide was unmoved. He snorted coldly, picked up another sharp knife and fork, and pinned Aphton's right hand to the dining table without hesitation.

Blood spurted out again, and the air was filled with a nauseating smell of blood.

"Where exactly are Lyney and Lynette? My patience is limited, don't waste my time."

"I really don't know!" Aphton stubbornly refused to admit it. He knew that if Yide found out the truth, he would be in an even worse situation than he was now, and he would also be subject to legal sanctions.

However, what he didn't know was that Yide, when he became ruthless, was a truly ruthless person.

"Aphton, have you ever heard of the Lingchi punishment? It's a cruel punishment that involves slowly cutting off pieces of a person's flesh, one by one, for a total of four hundred and ninety-nine cuts, causing the person to slowly die."

He gently summoned his sword, and lightly flicked the blade with his fingertip, producing a crisp sound.

"Although my sword isn't very sharp, it can barely make two hundred cuts. It's a pity, perhaps I can't let you experience the full pain of those four hundred and ninety-nine cuts."

Hearing this, Aphton was already paralyzed with fear, as if all his strength had been drained.

His face was full of fear and despair, and he kept muttering to himself: "Devil! You are a true devil!"
