Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Clorinde’s Joining

Lin Yide sat in his chair, grappling with a dilemma.

He had earned 800 experience points for completing the trial event – solving the Anna sisters' death case.

Recently, he had also completed the trial event – earning funds for the West Factory, gaining 200 points. Combined with the 200 points he had remaining, his experience points had accumulated to 1200.

Should he spend 800 of those points to upgrade his Favonius Bladework - Gale to advanced, thereby enhancing his combat abilities in the short term?

Or should he exercise patience and continue accumulating experience points, hoping to exchange them for a Vision and achieve a qualitative leap in his own strength?

Just then, Clorinde's arrival dispelled his hesitation.

"Baron Yide, do you have some time now? I would like to spar with you in swordsmanship," she requested politely.

Lin Yide pondered for a moment and replied, "I do, but if I win, you must agree to one condition."

Clorinde was slightly taken aback, then said solemnly, "As long as the condition does not violate my abilities or personal principles, I am willing to accept it."

Lin Yide looked directly into Clorinde's eyes and slowly stated his condition: "If I win, I want you to join the West Factory."

Upon hearing this condition, Clorinde fell into a brief silence.

Recently, she had heard various rumors about the West Factory. In these rumors, the West Factory was an incredibly dark and terrifying organization, and many people turned pale at the mention of it.

Although she did not like such organizations, she still agreed to Lin Yide's condition.

She was confident in her swordsmanship and believed that she would not be defeated.

Subsequently, the two arrived on the lawn in the backyard of the villa.

Sunlight streamed down, and the lawn was lush with greenery.

Each of them held a one-handed sword, the blades gleaming with a cold light.

Clorinde gazed at Lin Yide, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes.

She could clearly sense that the Lin Yide before her had improved significantly in strength compared to before.

The magnitude of this change was unbelievable to her.

Recalling the scene of his competition with Brant, Lin Yide at that time, although he showed considerable strength, still gave the impression of a trainee knight.

But now, his temperament had undergone a tremendous change.

Standing there, he was like a battle-hardened general, calm and dignified, exuding a powerful aura.

How was this possible?

In less than a month, Lin Yide had undergone such a huge transformation.

This rate of growth was simply incredible.

Her confidence began to waver.

Originally, she had great confidence in her swordsmanship, believing that she would not lose to anyone.

But now, facing the greatly enhanced Lin Yide, she began to feel uncertain.

However, Clorinde did not let these distractions affect her for too long. She quickly adjusted her mindset and regarded Lin Yide as her greatest opponent.

She took the lead, the silver rapier making a "whoosh" sound as it rubbed against the air, stabbing straight at Lin Yide's body like lightning.

Faced with Clorinde's fierce offensive, Lin Yide appeared unusually calm.

He stood there, as solid as a rock, his momentum like a rainbow. The dull blade danced in his hand, striking first, hitting the blade of the rapier with precision.

A crisp metallic clang was heard, and Clorinde's rapier was instantly knocked away, the direction of the attack forcibly changed.

Clorinde was not discouraged. She moved nimbly, quickly adjusted her posture, and launched another sharp stab.

Her movements were agile and varied, each attack full of power and speed.

But no matter how hard she tried, her attacks were always cleverly defused by Lin Yide.

Lin Yide's swordsmanship had reached a superb level, each counterattack was powerful and effective, making Clorinde feel increasingly pressured.

As time passed, Clorinde's stamina began to decline gradually.

Her attack frequency gradually decreased, and each swing of the sword seemed somewhat labored.

But Lin Yide became more and more courageous as he fought. His swordsmanship became more and more calm and free, as if he had already taken control of the entire battle.

Finally, after an intense confrontation, Clorinde chose to admit defeat.

After the defeat, Clorinde was breathing rapidly, panting heavily. Sweat soaked her clothes, clinging to her body, revealing her shapely figure.

At this moment, the white slime on her chest trembled with her breath.

From a practical point of view, such a full chest is actually a burden, as it would restrict her movements and flexibility in battle.

After a moment, Clorinde adjusted her breathing and said to Lin Yide with a serious expression, "Baron Yide, you have won. I will keep my promise and join the West Factory."

Lin Yide smiled slightly and said sincerely, "Clorinde, you are very welcome to join. There are many misunderstandings about our West Factory from the outside world, but it is actually an organization that truly upholds justice."

Clorinde nodded, indicating her understanding. She didn't say much and turned to leave.

She knew that she needed to go back and summarize the reasons for today's crushing defeat and further improve her swordsmanship.

Watching Clorinde's gradually receding figure, Lin Yide's mind was filled with the familiar voice of the system: "Congratulations to the host for completing the trial event - defeating Clorinde in a swordsmanship duel, gaining 100 experience points."

Lin Yide was not disappointed with the 100 experience points given by the system.

After all, after he successfully upgraded Favonius Bladework - Gale to a high level, this duel was no longer difficult for him.

If he hadn't upgraded, the system should have given more experience points.

But then he might not have been able to win against Clorinde.

When it's time to be steady, you still have to be steady.

After all, he was just a level 60 player who couldn't clear the Spiral Abyss Floor 12 with full stars.
