Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Duke Holsen

In a brightly lit and lavishly decorated bedroom, an elderly man with greying hair stared intently at Lynette, who was tightly bound to the bed.

His eyes betrayed an undisguised lewdness and lust.

No one in Fontaine could have imagined he would do such a thing.

Because in addition to being a Duke of Fontaine, he was also a very famous scholar and scientist, once hailed by the Steambird as a model of nobility—Duke Holsen.

He approached Lynette step by step, preparing to indulge in his "prey" and satisfy the twisted desires deep within him.

Lynette cowered helplessly in the corner of the bed, her eyes filled with terror and despair.

Just as Holsen was about to touch Lynette, suddenly, with a loud "bang!" the bedroom door was kicked open with great force.

Immediately afterward, a figure covered in blood, wielding the Dull Blade, burst in—it was Lin Yide.

Holsen was stunned by this sudden turn of events, halting his actions and turning his head in bewildered surprise at the uninvited guest.

But he quickly recovered, his bewilderment replaced by anger. He roared, "Who are you? How dare you break into my bedroom! Get out now!"

Lin Yide completely ignored his roar, stepping forward and delivering a fierce slap to Holsen's face.

The slap was so powerful that it sent Holsen's head spinning, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.

Then, Lin Yide quickly went to the bedside and deftly untied the ropes that bound Lynette.

Regaining her freedom, Lynette immediately embraced him tightly, tears falling like broken pearls.

Lin Yide gently stroked her back, whispering comfortingly, "Don't be afraid, Lynette. It's all over. It was just a nightmare, and now you're safe."

In Lin Yide's warm embrace, Lynette felt as if she were in an impregnable haven, all fear and anxiety vanishing at that moment.

After crying, Lynette looked up at Lin Yide and said, "Father, I know there's a secret room hidden here, with many other little girls imprisoned like me."

"Okay, take me there. We'll go save them!" Lin Yide said firmly.

At this moment, Holsen had recovered somewhat. He clutched his swollen face and roared furiously, "You dare to hurt me! I will kill you all!"

His voice was shrill and grating, like a rusty saw cutting back and forth in one's mind, causing extreme discomfort.

Lin Yide frowned, unable to endure the noise.

He kicked out suddenly, sending Holsen flying several meters away, crashing heavily into the corner of the wall.

Holsen groaned in pain, unable to get up for a moment.

Then, led by Lynette, Lin Yide opened a dark secret room.

With the help of the faint light, he could see several scantily clad, lifeless little girls inside.

Seeing these pitiful little girls, the anger in Lin Yide's heart was overwhelming. He clenched his fists, took a deep breath, and tried to calm his emotions.

He said to the little girls in as gentle a voice as possible, "Little ones, don't be afraid. I'm here to save you. You're safe now."

However, the long period of imprisonment had caused great damage to the bodies and minds of these little girls, causing them to lose their desire and hope for freedom and life.

Their eyes were dull, their movements slow, as if they had become accustomed to this dark and hopeless life.

Lynette walked into the secret room with heartache, embracing them tightly one by one, and whispering in their ears, "We are free now. The terrible nightmare is finally over."

Gradually, the little girls began to react. A hint of doubt appeared in their eyes, but more than that was trust in Lynette's words.

Supported by Lynette, they trembled as they stepped out of the secret room, re-entering the long-lost world of freedom.

Lin Yide, on the other hand, maintained a friendly smile, trying to make his expression look kind and approachable, afraid that his appearance would frighten these little girls who had just regained their freedom.

At this time, Holsen was crawling towards the door in a disheveled state. His face was full of fear, wanting only to escape this terrible place as soon as possible.

However, his actions did not escape Lin Yide's eyes.

Lin Yide glanced coldly at the struggling Holsen, walked to his side, and ruthlessly kicked him into a dark corner.

Holsen groaned in pain, but Lin Yide did not stop there.

He drew the Dull Blade in his hand and pinned Holsen's left thigh to the ground with a single strike.

Instantly, blood stained the floor red, and Holsen let out a pig-like wail.

The shrill wail echoed in the empty bedroom, sending chills down one's spine.

The little girls who had just come out of the secret room were startled, looking at the scene in front of them in horror.

But when they saw clearly that it was the demon who had once tormented them who was wailing in pain, the pain in their hearts was greatly relieved.

Before long, Lyney and Ouf hurried to the scene.

As soon as Lyney saw Lynette, she couldn't contain her excitement, and the two hugged each other tightly.

Euphrasie stared at the scene in front of her in disbelief.

She quickly took out her image machine and kept pressing the shutter, recording the shocking scene before her.

This was definitely a sensational news story! The entire Fontaine society would be shaken by it.

This night was destined to be a sleepless one!
