Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: The Devil

Before Lin Yide could even begin his horrifying torture, Aphton had already completely collapsed under the immense psychological pressure, confessing everything truthfully.

Lyney and Lynette were indeed taken by him. Lyney was imprisoned in his bedroom, while Lynette was given to the powerful Duke Holsen.

After hearing this, Lin Yide didn't hesitate. He swung his longsword and severed Aphton's symbol of sin and ugliness with a single strike.

Blood splattered, reflecting Lin Yide's furious face.

Immediately afterward, he strode towards the bedroom, his heart filled with concern and worry for Lyney.

When he pushed open the heavy door, the scene before him shocked him.

On the luxurious and spacious bed, Lyney was tightly bound with rough ropes, struggling helplessly.

His eyes revealed deep fear and despair.

Lin Yide quickly stepped forward, his hands deftly untying the ropes binding Lyney, freeing him from his painful confinement.

The moment Lyney saw Lin Yide, he felt as if he had seen a ray of light in the darkness.

He said anxiously, "Father, please hurry and save Lynette! Aphton sent her away, and she's probably in danger now."

"I know," Lin Yide said in a deep voice, "But Lyney, you must remember to remain calm at all times, or you won't be able to save anyone."

Hearing Lin Yide's words, Lyney tried to calm himself, took a deep breath, and said firmly, "Father, I understand. I will stay calm."

Lin Yide nodded in satisfaction and quickly instructed, "Now, go to the Steambird News and find a reporter named Euphrasie.

Tell her to go to Baron Holsen's manor immediately.

We are about to expose a case that will shock the entire Teyvat continent, and she can't miss this opportunity to report it."

"Yes!" Lyney replied without hesitation. He immediately turned and left, rushing towards the Steambird News as quickly as possible.

As he hurried through the living room, Lyney inadvertently glanced at Aphton's miserable and painful state.

A sense of vengeful satisfaction surged in his heart, and the resentment that had accumulated within him was released at that moment.

At the same time, his admiration and respect for his father, Lin Yide, grew even stronger.

In Fontaine, Lin Yide was the only one who dared to openly administer private justice, unafraid of power and rules!

His courage and boldness shocked Lyney and strengthened his determination to follow in his father's footsteps.

Lin Yide and Lyney left Aphton's manor one after the other, heading towards their respective destinations.

Soon after Lin Yide left, a woman blocked his path.

She was tall, with snow-white hair, a strand of black hair mixed in at her forehead, and a beautiful face. Her black and red eyes were deep and bright, revealing a unique charm.

She wore a black tight-fitting leather suit, perfectly outlining her graceful figure.

The white dress worn over it was like a blooming white lotus, fresh and refined, complementing her temperament.

She looked noble, heroic, and full of dangerous allure, like a rose with thorns, making people want to approach her while also feeling fear.

"You took the child I had my eye on," she said coldly.

Lin Yide looked up in surprise, not expecting to meet her here – Arlecchino, the Fourth Harbinger of the Fatui and the head of the House of the Hearth.

In the original story, she was the one who offered help, rescuing Lyney and Lynette from their predicament and leading them to join the House of the Hearth, shaping them into the most outstanding spies of the Fatui.

Lin Yide met Arlecchino's gaze without flinching, "Arlecchino, I don't have time to argue with you right now.

But I must tell you that these two children will have a brighter future following me than becoming spies for the Fatui."

After saying that, Lin Yide didn't say anything more, turned around, and strode forward, leaving Arlecchino with a resolute back view.

Arlecchino was instantly stunned in place, her eyes widening in disbelief.

Lin Yide was able to call out her identity in one breath and accurately state her purpose.

How was this possible?

After a brief moment of surprise, she stopped thinking about it.

Although the House of the Hearth had lost two excellent children, perhaps she could gain an extremely excellent and interesting helper.

This thought made her feel a hint of excitement and anticipation.

The corners of her mouth turned up slightly, revealing a subtle smile.

Night fell silently on the Court of Fontaine.

In this deep night, Lin Yide's figure was lonely and firm as he strode forward, his target being the historic Duke Holsen Manor.

About half an hour later, Lin Yide finally arrived at his destination.

The manor stood in the night, exuding an ancient and solemn atmosphere, undoubtedly one of the most luxurious residences in Fontaine.

At the entrance of the manor, more than a dozen guards holding flintlock guns stood in a line, their expressions serious, their eyes like torches, guarding the Duke's dignity and peace.

As Lin Yide approached the manor, a guard immediately stepped forward and shouted, "Stop! This is Duke Holsen's territory, no unauthorized personnel are allowed to enter."

Lin Yide responded coldly, "My name is Yide, I believe you should have heard of it."

As soon as he finished speaking, a contemptuous smile suddenly appeared on the guard's face, his eyes full of disdain and ridicule for Lin Yide, "Oh, of course we know you, Mr. Yide. Aren't you the cuckold whose woman was stolen by an old man?"

He paused deliberately, seemingly enjoying the change in Lin Yide's expression, and then continued, "We've also heard a little about your so-called West Factory. But here, it's not enough. Who do you think you are? Daring to act wildly here?"

Faced with this sudden mockery, Lin Yide did not show any anger or excitement.

He just sighed softly, seemingly regretting the guard's ignorance and arrogance, "If you really want to die, then I can only fulfill your wish."

"What did you say? How dare you talk to me like that!" A trace of anger flashed across the guard's face, and he was about to continue to attack when he suddenly felt a sharp chill.

The next moment, the blade of the Dull Blade had pierced his chest, and blood splattered out in an instant, staining the surrounding air red.

His eyes widened, as if he couldn't believe what had happened before him.

This sudden change frightened all the guards present, and they immediately raised the flintlock guns in their hands, wanting to give Lin Yide a shot.

If it were modern firearms, Lin Yide would likely have been riddled with bullets long ago, but this kind of flintlock gun was at an absolute disadvantage in the face of close-range blades.

He saw his figure like the wind, instantly rushing into the guard group.

After a burst of flashing swords and shadows, accompanied by the crisp sound of metal collisions and muffled thuds, these originally aggressive guards fell to the ground one after another, losing their ability to resist.

The entire manor entrance suddenly became a mess, and the air was filled with a strong smell of blood.
