The third main quest had begun.
Everyone who was alive in Seoul city could see it: the giant screen floating in the sky with massively visible words.
All those who were part of Region 234 immediately began to get ready for the quest.
Not that they had a choice; monsters had begun to swarm the entire city like ants.
Fear ran rampant in the city, and many were desperate enough to become slaves just to join a particular group.
Or at least those who were confused about the apocalypse in general.
Survival came first; that was all they understood.
"They should be arriving soon," Jared whispered to himself, his back resting on the wall.
He had positioned himself close to the entrance of an alleyway, waiting to see if his target would walk right past him.
Kara and Veronica did the same, taking the very back where Jayhan had drawn the number 2 on the ground.
Before they separated to find their target, once people began to fill up the plaza, Jayhan formed a group with them—an official one.
As such, he noticed something strange happen right after.
A new S-tier skill was in his possession.
[SSS class skill, Game Log.]
Making that the fourth S-tier skill he had with him.
It was no longer a coincidence—someone or something was giving him special treatment. The question was, who?
Jayhan suddenly snapped out of his deep thoughts when someone walked right past him.
Long black hair danced with the wind as if one with it.
Blue eyes that captured the hearts of those who looked into them. Perfectly pale fair skin and lips so soft it felt like you were kissing them just from seeing them.
Seo Yuna.
Jayhan was surprised, but at the same time, in shock.
It was her.
The main character of the game he played was right there in his very eyes, in the flesh.
Which only meant one thing—his theory of the game clashing with the real world was true.
Wearing a white sweater dress with a black jacket over her shoulder, she stood in a place, giving Jayhan time to observe her black high heels.
"She's as pretty as she was in the game. Maybe—"
Before Jayhan could complete his thoughts, Seo slightly looked at him, her eyes squinted in disgust.
"What are you looking at?" she uttered with disdain.
Jayhan, calm, replied, "Nothing really. I just—"
[The character Kara is suspicious of your activity.]
[The character Kara is suspicious of your activity.]
Jayhan didn't look, but he was sure he felt Kara choking him to death from where she was standing. Thankfully, Veronica was holding her back.
He continued, his eyes fixed on Seo.
"My name is Jayhan Grimblade. Maybe I know yours?"
Jayhan made his last name up on the spot. And there was a good reason for that.
Because there was a condition for Seo Yuna's copy ability.
Looking at him, she uttered, "Seo Yuna."
Jayhan smiled. "That is such a cool name. Are you in a group by any chance?"
Sao frowned.
"If you're trying to make me join your group, I refuse. I don't know you, nor do I trust you."
Jayhan still kept his smile on his face.
He knew why she wasn't so bothered about joining a group.
In the game, all she did was threaten a few weak women into joining her group, but after the third quest was over, she completely discarded them.
"Is that your final answer?" Jayhan didn't back down.
"Get away from me."
Jayhan sighed, and then he stood next to her, his arms folded without a single word leaving his mouth.
Sao didn't seem bothered by it as she completely ignored his existence right after.
Meanwhile, Veronica was at the back, trying to hold Kara back from storming into their midst.
As time passed, more people began to show up at the plaza, some having already formed a team before entering, and others, just like Jared and his team, confused as to how they would find a team.
Since the system didn't give a time limit, it was assumed it would probably start once everyone was in the plaza and the others who couldn't make it were dead.
That's what most thought.
But Jayhan knew the real secret behind it. The taskmaster didn't give a time because there was a limit to how many could join the current quest.
And once it had been revealed, it would also mean no one else could enter the plaza—not until the current quest was over.
After a while, someone walked into the plaza: a man dressed in a long coat and wearing a black hat, carrying a crowbar on his shoulder.
As he walked into the plaza, the first thing he did was stand on the number 2 Jayhan had faintly drawn on the ground.
Spotting him, Veronica immediately drew Kara's attention. It would seem they had found the person they were looking for.
"So, should I go first? I'm, like, totally good at talking to strangers," Veronica uttered, standing beside Kara.
"Do you even know what to say? 'Hello there, I'm a dumb female human, please join my group because I'm totally cute'?"
Kara gave a sarcastic tone.
"Quit being mean. I'll have you know my cuteness has nothing to do with it. Heh, he looks kinda hot though, eh? Look, the girls there are already eyeing him," Veronica pointed.
"Who cares? Let's get this over with. I don't like the fact my boyfriend is chasing after some girl. Come on."
Kara made her way toward the man.
Standing in front of him with her arms folded and Veronica at the back, she spoke, "Hey, we need someone in our group. Wanna join?"
The man in question was surprised, wondering why a girl would walk up to him in such a manner.
Raising a brow, he replied, "Are you trying to pick a fight? Get the hell out of my face."
Kara moved closer.
"Sorry, perhaps I didn't make myself very clear. I asked a question: are you going to join... or not?"
