Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: Godzilla, 'Hand over your money'!

Though Godzilla was strong, Silver Wolf and Kafka were no ordinary opponents.

When it came to fighting giant beast-type enemies, Godzilla was undoubtedly ranked first, but no one expected this Godzilla to be able to capture both Kafka and Silver Wolf.

This was truly...

One of the reasons Godzilla hadn't gone for the kill was that Kafka and Silver Wolf hadn't intended to kill him either — they just wanted to quiet him down temporarily.

And the second reason was...

"Where does this little rascal keep her savings?"

Lightly tapping Silver Wolf's head, Godzilla's thoughts began to drift.

----------------------------------

As everyone knows, the credit points issued by the Interasteral Peace Corporation serve as a universal currency, holding value on any world with an interstellar footprint.

Even Belobog, which has been sealed off for seven hundred years, still bears traces of credit points.

Naturally, Godzilla couldn't possibly use credit points himself, but as a new-era Godzilla, he certainly wouldn't behave as domineeringly as his predecessors.

'Hand over your money.' Rooaaarrr.

The tip of his tail hooked Silver Wolf's collar, lifting her into the air and shaking her vigorously.

Godzilla's goal had never changed from the start.

This amusing scene successfully drew the attention of Kafka and the others. With no resistance, Kafka allowed herself to be cuffed, and as she watched Silver Wolf being swung like a blur by the ponytail, she turned her head toward Himeko and curiously asked,

"What's he doing?"

Could this be a unique hunting method of this species? Or some kind of entertainment?

Hearing Kafka's question, Himeko shifted her gaze to Serval, the one who knew Godzilla best on the scene.

Looking at Silver Wolf, whose spinning motion was getting faster and faster, Serval said with some uncertainty, "It seems like he's saying, hand over anything valuable?"

"Huh?!"

...

The arrival of the Stellaron Hunters brought quite a shock to Jarilo, this little planet on the edge of the universe.

"Hmm, hmm? Hmm."

After being observed like a rare animal for quite some time, Silver Wolf finally couldn't hold back, glaring angrily at the annoying woman in front of her.

"You've been humming and hawing for half an hour! If you want milk, the next room's that way!"

Topaz was stunned for a moment, then chuckled, "Sorry, I was just curious. The Stellaron Hunters, whose reputation echoes throughout the universe, actually tripped up here. The IPC's been looking for you for a long time."

Silver Wolf sneered disdainfully. Just those company slackers? If it weren't for the Preservation Order active inside, she alone could've gone in and out seven times over.

"Heh, you think these guys can stop me?" She glanced at the door out of the corner of her eye.

Outside, a squad of Silvermane Guards stood duty, tightly sealing off the room.

"Then why don't you run?"

"..."

Her cheeks puffed up. She was fuming.

It wasn't that she didn't want to run, but that she simply couldn't!

She had tried to escape the moment they placed her here, and then... the next second, that all-too-familiar tail came crashing down from the sky, slamming her straight into the basement level.

The force was just right—dazed but not brain-damaged.

Though Stellaron Hunters all possessed the ability to destroy planets single-handedly, their methods varied greatly.

In her case, she manipulated the planet's networks and weapon systems via Ether Editing to achieve her goals. Of course, if she wished, Ether Editing could reach even more outrageous levels.

But her strength was never in direct combat!

If they'd sent Firefly instead, it might've been a different story—bang bang bang—and besides, Firefly actually had experience dealing with giant monsters like this.

"By the way, don't you plan to turn us in to the IPC for a reward? You seem to be a IPC employee too, and judging by your rank, not a low one. Oh, and that stone of yours doesn't seem ordinary."

Topaz didn't answer Silver Wolf's question, just gave a faint smile, her gaze sweeping across Kafka, who sat on the sofa with her eyes closed, seemingly resting. Leaving behind a casual "Have fun," Topaz turned and left the room.

And took Silver Wolf's phone with her on the way out.

"Hey!"

Hearing the commotion behind her, Topaz gave a slight shake of her head.

"Being addicted to games isn't good, right, Numpy?"

"Hmph~"

Tossing the gift from nature in her hand, Topaz walked to a secluded corner and began connecting to the IPC.

"The situation has changed. Jarilo's god has captured Stellaron Hunters Kafka and Silver Wolf."

"He is completely unharmed."

"Hmm, easily taken away, and the other party can even launch attacks in biological form strong enough to destroy a ship. Hmm, I know."

Ending the communication, she looked toward the Engine of Creation towering over Belobog. Topaz flipped her hair and gently stroked her account book.

"Things are getting more and more interesting."

...

"Woo~"

"Woo~"

"Ah woo~."

March 7th teased the snow-white little bear squatting on the ground and gnawing on a ham, overflowing with affection.

"Himeko, can we keep it?"

"But there's already Pom-Pom on the train."

"Pom-Pom is the conductor!" March 7th glanced unhappily at Stelle, who was also teasing the bear, then turned her pleading eyes toward Himeko, who was sipping coffee with crossed legs nearby.

"No, we can't. I checked the information — this is an Icefield Bear, a specialty of Belobog. Its appearance symbolizes the recovery of vitality in Jarilo, so we can't just take it away."

"Ah, how could it be like this."

Hearing what Himeko said, March 7th pouted, but there was no helping it. Thinking about how the bear symbolized the recovery of life on Jarilo, she couldn't bring it up again.

Besides, the conductor Pom-Pom probably wouldn't allow her to keep a pet anyway. But maybe a bit of sweet-talking would work?

...

"Achoo!"

On the Astral Express suspended in space, Pom-Pom was standing on a stool, tiptoeing, holding a feather duster and diligently cleaning the wardrobe.

Rubbing its nose, Pom-Pom muttered suspiciously, "I clearly tucked myself in properly last night. Could it be that some passenger is missing me, Pom?"

Jumping off the stool and looking at the lush green planet, Pom-Pom felt a little down, its two ears drooping weakly on either side.

"Why aren't Himeko and the others back yet? Don't tell me! Don't tell me they've forgotten about the conductor!"

...

Feeling like she had forgotten something, Himeko closed the book in her hand with a puzzled expression and spoke.

"What do you all think about Kafka and Silver Wolf?"

"What is there to think? That bad woman obviously came for Stelle. If it weren't for Godzilla being here, who knows what kind of tricks she'd be pulling."

March 7th firmly expressed her distrust of the bad woman.

"I'll reserve judgment. The Stellaron Hunters' motives are still unclear, but without exception, they always appear on the path ahead of us." Dan Heng said.

Himeko nodded slightly, then turned her gaze to Stelle.

"What about you?"

After thinking for a moment, Stelle replied a bit uncertainly, "Actually, she's... alright, I guess."

"Don't let that bad woman fool you!"

Hearing her unreliable answer, March 7th leaped up and knocked her on the head.

The Stellaron Hunters, huh! Their starting bounty is in the billions — how could they possibly be good people!

"But it's Big Bro's call now." Stelle covered her head, pouting in grievance.

When Stelle brought up Godzilla, March 7th barely resisted the urge to knock her on the head again.

"It seems Kafka once tried to control Godzilla, but it had no effect at all." Welt said thoughtfully.

It seems Godzilla has a strong resistance to mental suggestions — no, it's too soon to draw that conclusion. For now, let's assume the Godzilla of Jarilo has strong mental resistance.

"It's just... why would Godzilla choose to let them go?" March 7th asked in confusion.

It wasn't that she wanted the Stellaron Hunters to die right away; she just couldn't figure out why Godzilla, for whom they were clearly insignificant, would spare them.

And he seemed particularly more interested in Silver Wolf.

'I'm really too interested in you.' Roooaaarr Godzilla swayed his thick, long tail, his vertical pupils staring closely at the little one in front of him.

"Roooaaarr" I heard your hacking skills are pretty good. Do me a favor, will you?
