Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: Crisis, The Sudden appearance of the Doomsday Beast!

Even if the Doomsday Beast showed up, as someone who had shattered a Cornerstone, she still had some ability to resist—at the very least, escaping wouldn't be a problem. As long as the Doomsday Beast didn't want to provoke a group attack, it wouldn't openly make a move against one of the Ten Stonehearts.

Of course, there was always the chance that those destruction-obsessed lunatics didn't even grasp such basic logic.

After ending the call, Topaz sighed.

At least it wasn't entirely fruitless—the IPC had promised to contribute to Jarilo's reconstruction after the battle. Hah, "contribute," huh? More like you're eyeing this planet for yourself.

But Topaz knew the IPC's real motive. "You just want to see how far he can go, don't you?"

Topaz looked toward an area devoid of any buildings. There, the true master of Jarilo resided.

"Roar~~" A deep growl echoed through the empty space, making hearts involuntarily skip a beat.

"Hey, what's wrong with him?" March 7th leaned over to Serval, who was playing a game, and whispered.

"Don't know, he's been like this ever since he found out someone was eyeing his home."

"Uh, looks like he's really pissed off."

Serval glanced at Godzilla, who looked like this, and smiled helplessly.

He looks so imposing, but like this he's actually kind of cute. If only Gepard had been this cute when he was little, I wouldn't have beaten him up so much back then. But Gepard just got more and more annoying as he grew up. Too bad I can't beat him now... maybe I should lure him over and let the big guy swat him away?

While thinking, Serval walked up to Godzilla and gently said, "It's okay, as long as they dare to come, we'll make sure they don't leave."

"Yeah! No return trip!" Stelle nodded repeatedly on Godzilla's shoulder.

Speaking of a shoulder, its length, width, and height were enough for Stelle to roll around on it, or even put a mattress up there.

"Speaking of which, I think Godzilla is bigger than the Doomsday Beast," March 7th carefully compared Godzilla and the Doomsday Beast they'd encountered at the space station. Compared to Godzilla, that Doomsday Beast back then was practically a tiny ant.

"That's normal. According to Mr. Welt's data, Godzilla's size has no upper limit, while the Doomsday Beast's size depends on the power of the Path of Destruction or the size of the Leviathan fragments used to forge it."

Dan Heng spoke calmly.

Back during the era even before the Dusk War, many Leviathan were shattered, and later their fragments were picked up by Antimatter Legion, eventually giving birth to the Doomsday Beast—a terrifying existence that shook the universe.

If one wanted to increase the size of a Doomsday Beast, either the Antimatter Legion had to inject it with power, or the Leviathan fragments used in forging it had to be particularly large.

While everyone was chatting, Kafka bent down slightly, curiously picking up a fragment of stone that had fallen to the ground.

She gave it a light squeeze, and the stone scattered like dust.

So fragile, completely unlike its original hardness.

Kafka pondered—the energy in the ore had dissipated so quickly.

...

Xianzhou Luofu.

Learning about the Antimatter Legion's movements, Jing Yuan began to ponder.

After much thought, he summoned Fu Xuan.

"Another divination?" Fu Xuan was momentarily stunned, then stared at Jing Yuan suspiciously.

"Could it be that the General made some small mistake outside and is this nervous about it?"

Thinking about the treasures Yukong and the others took with them when they left Luofu, Fu Xuan's eyes turned even sharper.

Even though those goods weren't enough to hurt Luofu's foundation, their quantity was still considerable. After all, treasures are rare no matter where you are. And the moment Yukong and the others left, the General suddenly started acting like a different person, even voluntarily sending things away.

That was one thing, but it wasn't unusual for the General to have some channels she didn't know about. The problem was, her intuition told her the General was definitely planning something big!

"Lady Fu, even if you don't trust me, at least trust Yukong and the others, right? Besides, it's just a divination—it might even help refine your technique."

Fu Xuan rolled her eyes. Fine, if he doesn't want to say it, she's not interested anyway.

She didn't like Jing Yuan's way of handling things, but he was the General, and she was just the Diviner of the Divination Commission. Sooner or later, she would sit in the General's position and show Jing Yuan how Luofu should really be governed!

Breaking off her thoughts, Fu Xuan immediately raised her hand and began divining.

Jing Yuan watched her, curious about the result this time.

After a moment, Fu Xuan suddenly opened her eyes but stayed silent for a long while.

Jing Yuan raised an eyebrow, "Master Diviner, what's the matter? Did you see something unclean?"

Fu Xuan didn't retort this time. Her brows furrowed slightly as she recalled the divination, "It was hot. That was the only feeling I got."

Hearing Fu Xuan's words, Jing Yuan was stunned. It was the first time he'd ever heard of such a divination result—hot? What could that possibly mean?

And judging by how Fu Xuan looks, could it be that she has figured something out?

"Heh, I only have this one feeling, but I've pretty much figured it out. Yukong and the others' itinerary this time is very suspicious. General, I advise you to quickly confess what you've done!"Fu Xuan let out a cold laugh.

No divination sign is the most abnormal divination sign!

General! What exactly are you hiding!

Master Diviner Fu was highly skilled, her title was not just for name, though short in stature. Jing Yuan slightly tilted his head, assuming a thoughtful posture, while Fu Xuan strained to look up at him, glaring.

The wind blew past fallen leaves, stirring up dust and sand.

No one knew how much time had passed before Master Fu stormed out of the General of Divine Foresight's mansion, fuming.

So infuriating, what kind of general can stare at the sun for half a day!

Being tall is nothing to be proud of!

"Qingque! Hurry over here and get to work!"

Pulling out her Jade Abacus, Fu Xuan began summoning Qingque, who was conveniently off duty today.

...

Time passed slowly, yet in people's perception, it flowed by swiftly.

"Phew, we're finally almost there."

Looking at the green planet that had revealed its true appearance ahead, Yukong let out a sigh of relief.

In order to reach Jarilo before the Antimatter Legion, she had even used her signature techniques.

"Jarilo... I wonder how everyone up there is doing with preparations," Tingyun said worriedly.

After all, that's the Antimatter Legion — and Jarilo had once fallen into decline due to their invasion.

"Don't worry, this time with the Nameless and us helping, plus Godzilla, nothing will go wrong," Yukong replied with a light smile. At a time like this, as the de facto leader of the team, she had to hold steady.

"Heh, this time I'm going to compete with Godzilla and see who's stronger!"

Yanqing was brimming with fighting spirit. The last few times, he had been swatted into the wall by Godzilla's tail, but this time he was determined to prove himself. Though not much time had passed, he felt his strength had improved by leaps and bounds!

Tingyun slowly walked over to the window, and at a glance, she saw the Astral Express parked just outside Jarilo.

"Is it really okay for the Astral Express to just sit there like that?"

One had to know that the Antimatter Legion would never limit themselves to a single target.

Anything alive that entered their range would face their endless assaults.

"The Astral Express is a creation of Akivili; it's not that easy to get into trouble."

Yukong shook her head. Compared to worrying about the Astral Express, she was more concerned about the possibility of their own ship encountering problems. After all, the Express was a creation of an Aeon. Even though that Aeon had already fallen, the Nameless still roamed the universe.

"Master Yukong, the Astral Express is sending us a communication request."

"Connect."

The screen flickered, and Himeko appeared on it. In the corner, there was even a strange creature that vaguely resembled a rabbit.

"Miss Himeko, we finally meet." Yukong greeted her with a smile.

"You're too polite, Miss Yukong. I'll be brief — I contacted you this time to ask about the Antimatter Legion's movements. How far are they from Jarilo-VI?"

Hearing Himeko's question, Yukong pondered for a moment, "Our probe exited the Antimatter Legion's range three days ago. Based on the distance calculation, at the very least, there should be two days left."

Hearing Yukong's reply, Himeko let out a long sigh of relief.

Good, there was still some time. What they did with those two days would be critical.

The fleet slowly approached Jarilo, and when the central part of the fleet entered an asteroid belt—

"Bang!" A savage aura surged through space, and with a flap of its wings, fierce winds swept out.

"Roar!" A terrifying head raised to the sky and let out a deafening roar. The Doomsday Beast, an ominous existence, darted rapidly through the cosmos, its form elusive and hard to pin down.

"What's going on! Why is there a Doomsday Beast here!"

Yukong's pupils contracted, and without hesitation, she immediately ordered everyone to open fire!

"Whoosh!" As a star-level weapon, this amount of firepower was utterly insignificant to the Doomsday Beast.

Or rather, the attacks that could actually hit it were negligible — the rest would require short-term charging to be effective.

What's more, the ships they were using for this mission were no match for the Doomsday Beast in terms of maneuverability.

"Those asteroids..." Faced with this sudden change, Welt immediately locked onto the asteroids.

Those asteroids hadn't originally been there — they had drifted over from nearby during this time.

Asteroids were nothing unusual in space, and no anomalies had been detected from them. Who would have thought a Doomsday Beast had been hiding inside!
