Chapter 5 - Daily Chest

But there wasn't really anything he could use here, the bed wasn't that heavy and as for the fridge, it was too bulky so he couldn't effectively gauge his strength using it.

"I should start the quest"

1...10....20...35...

[Ding!]

[Press up] 200/200

Then Rain moved to squat, and it was at this moment that he realized the benefit of having strength and stamina.

The Stats helped him, especially when considering this frail body, no one would believe he could complete 200 press-ups in one rep.

Even for most people, wasn't 50 to 70 press-ups a rep considered a solid feat?

At the thought of this, a bright smile bloomed on Rain's face, Had he really gotten stronger?

[Ding!]

[Squat] 200/200

Now it remained the jog exercise, Rain stood up and left the room.

Most people living in the apartment complex had either gone to their workplace or somewhere else, making the whole apartment complex somehow silent.

As he stepped out of the building, the morning sun bathed him in its golden light.

"Time to jog around, doesn't it remain like 15 meters?"

[Side Quest: Path Of Strength]

[Repeatable]

[Quest Objectives]

[Press-up] 200/200

[Squat] 200/200

[Jog] 5/20 km

[Rewards] [+50 XP]

"Thought as much "

Rain stared ahead, If he were to jog around the neighborhood, would it count?

If the jog was based on distance, it would surely count no matter the curved path he took, but if it was based on displacement, he wasn't sure that would count.

Since displacement is based on the straight distance between the starting and final point, Rain would need to jog on a straight path.

"The system can't be that strict right?"

He tried to test it, starting from the front of the apartment building, Rain jogged in a curved path to see if it would count, After a while of jogging around, he stopped.

[Ding!]

[Jog] 7/20 km

"So it did count"

After the confirmation, Rain started jogging around the neighborhood, then when he heard the system notification even without stopping to look, he knew he had completed the 20 km jog.

[Ding!]

[Jog] 20/20 km

"Yeah, I completed the side quest!"

There was something he noticed, he wasn't short of breath. Rain touched his forehead, not even a drop of sweat.

Apart from the fact that he wasn't a bit tired, he didn't even break a sweat.

If someone had been jogging a 20 km distance on this summer morning, they would have been soaked in sweat.

Wasn't that what resistance to fatigue meant? Which later translated to constitution.

Rain found a bench to sit on, then a large window appeared and started floating in the air.

[You Have Completed The Side Quest: Path Of Strength]

[Quest Rewards Have Been Issued]

[You Have Unlocked The Daily Chest]

[You Can Now Check In Daily To Receive a Daily Chest]

Multiple windows started floating all around Rain, making his heart thump with anticipation.

"This system is so motivating, how can I say I wouldn't level up after these rewards"

Rain went to check his status, while still eyeing the daily chest window from the corner of his eyes.

Status

[Race] Human

[Health Point] 100

[Mana Point] 20

[Lv.] 1

[XP] 50/100

[Strength] 2

[Agility] 7

[Intelligence] 2

[Constitution] 4

[Perception] 5

[Bonus Stat Points] 0

True to its words, the system had increased the experience points.

It remained fifty XP for him to advance to level two. A light of motivation flickered in Rain's eyes.

His hungry eyes landed on the daily chest window, he couldn't help but wonder what he would get.

No doubt, if there had been a luck stat, he would invest in it.

The thought of getting a high-ranked item or a rune core flashed through his mind.

"Luck, please!!!"

"Okay, it was now or never "

Rain gathered every ounce of confidence and muttered in his mind.

Open

His eyes shone as a spiral of golden light rose and danced in front of him, from the spiral of golden light, an object started taking from.

Rain reflexively reached out his hands, the object form completed and it fell on his palms, the spiral of light dispersing away completely.

There, lying on his hands was a pair of sneakers, a pair of deep green regular sneakers was the reward?

"Is this supposed to be a joke?"

He moved the item closer and a data shimmered on top of it.

[Item] Forest Boots

[Rank] Uncommon

[Description]

A pair of magical boots that increase dodge chance. Can be stored in the inventory.

[+7 Agility]

[+20% Movement Speed]

Just as he opened his mouth to give his comment, another notification window appeared.

[You Have Received Daily Chest Rewards]

Rain's eyes widened at the bonus stats, Forget about the others, when he saw his physical abilities improving due to points allocation, he had developed an unparalleled love for bonus stats.

"Getting physically stronger just by allocating points to one's stat, even if that was the only reward, I would still be happy"

Rain wore the pair of sneakers, to his surprise, they fitted his legs, it was as if it was made to be worn by him.

[+7 Agility]

[+20% Movement Speed]

"It seemed the size fit when I wore it"

Rain couldn't help but voice out his suspicion, because when the sneakers first appeared, it seemed small, at that moment, he didn't give it any thought.

"Well, that is why it is called a magical item"

As he was checking out the item, he wondered how much it would cost.

As an uncommon item, the Demon Razor had cost this body about two million dollars even though it had a negative effect which was the -5 Health.

But aside from being an uncommon rank item, this pair of sneakers had two positive effects, so it wasn't an exaggeration that it would cost millions of dollars also.

Rain grimaced, On one hand, he was thankful for this item, since it would increase his physical abilities, but when he thought about the measly amount he had in his bank account, the thought of selling it only grew stronger.

"This body is such a broke ass"

Rain trotted back into the apartment and muttered on his way, The footwear gave his foot a very soft feeling.

He went over to the fridge and took a can of cold beer, the thought of making money wandered into his mind as he opened and drank a beer.

The thought of making money was spiraling through Rain's mind, but first, he had to level up.

I wish to reach at least level three before going for any raid, I wanted to feel a real difference in my abilities.

After drinking all the beer, with his right hand, Rain crushed the can into a scrap of metal as a determined light flickered in his eyes.

"This frail body better shape up!!"

Using the forest sneakers, Rain dashed out to repeat the Path of Strength quest.
