After repeating the Quest for some number of times, Rain took his bath and had a meal.
BUZZ BUZZZ!!
"How many days has it been, five?" He went over and took the vibrating phone after covering up his athletic frame.
As his gaze landed on the caller ID, Rain quickly remembered the raid.
"They are starting earlier than the agreed time?"
The time scheduled for the raid to start was 1 PM, and there was still one and a half hours before the time, he couldn't help but wonder why Rouxin was calling.
He looked at the contact and thought about the caller, in all the team, Rouxin was the only female member and the one the original body was the most closest to.
Perhaps it came from the fact that he would always stick with her in a dungeon to raise his own safety to one hundred percent.
After all, even if any monster targeted the healer, was it not they that the combat group would seek to protect first?
With this logic, the original body was like a parasite feeding on the protective benefit of both the healer and the combat members.
That was the reason he was always a broke ass, ending up with monsters who manage to escape being kill and delivering the final blow.
Sometimes he wouldn't even get anything from the dungeon aside from the three hundred dollars payment from the Awakened League who summoned them.
At the thought of this, an embarrassed expression quickly crept up Rain's face, and he immediately felt reluctant to pick up the call.
"It is nothing, I would just have to prove myself today"
A light flickered in his eyes, Today, he would show them the result of his growth.
With this newfound confidence, Rain pressed the accept button and picked up the call.
"Good morning, Rain, I hope everything is o-okay"
A soft feminine voice greeted from the other end of the line. It flustered quite a bit, making clear a hint of unease.
Rain's eyes squinted downward puzzlingly, he couldn't help but think what could be wrong.
Nonetheless, he didn't want to increase the tension and make the conversation awkward so he quickly replied.
"Good morning, everything is great.
Is there some information about the dungeon?"
"You see... Umm, the League Monitor Team said the Dungeon is emitting unstable waves, s-so it is likely to spawn monster if we don't clear it in the next thirty minutes"
Rain brow quickly furrowed, it wasn't because of Rouxin's continuously flustered voice, he could remember her face and attitude, She was someone who had a fragile mind.
Even in small incidents that shouldn't cause panic, she reacted excessively to them.
The main thing bothering Rain was what she said.
Normally, all dungeons emit a wave of magical energy that is used to rank them, however, if the wave becomes too unstable, it may spawn monsters into the outside world.
This was something humans didn't want to experience again, so the raid team would be assigned to clear it quickly.
Another thing was that when a Gate spawned monsters into the outside world, they were released in multiple folds, greater than the actual number of monsters in the dungeon.
With this in mind, Rain quickly replied to what Rouxin had said.
"I assume that means everyone is already there?"
"Yeah"
"I will get there as fast as I can"
The conversation ended and he started the preparation.
Rain mind briefly wandered to the main quest [Talent Trial]. Tomorrow he would be spawned into a dungeon.
The thought of that felt like a cruel irony to him, after all, he had only heard of Gate spawning monsters from the dungeon into the world.
Rain put on the forest boots and took a peek at his status.
[Race] Human
[HP] 350
[MP] 100
[Lv.] 5
[XP] 2550/12500
[Strength] 35
[Agility] 25
[Intelligence] 6
[Constitution] 20
[Perception] 10
[Bonus Stat Points] 15
After leveling up to level 5, it had been difficult to gain significant XP from the repeatable Path Of Strength quest.
Even after he had repeated the quest about twenty times today, the highest XP he got was one thousand, which only made a little difference in the XP he needed to advance to level 6.
Thanks to the bonus stat reward he got from the Daily Chest, his bonus stats increased from 10 to 15.
Rain would wait and bid his time until he entered the dungeon, after knowing the type of monster in there would he allocate the stat points.
Aside from the bonus stats, the remaining reward from the Daily Chest wasn't a bit useful in combat. It seemed he had run out of magical items' luck.
"Thanks to that, I have a pack of toilet row and some toiletries, which will leave my budget for the time being"
Rain [equipped] the Flesh Reaper, a pocket knife with a black handle made of thick rough hide appeared in his right grip.
It had a jagged and menacing-looking edge, and a curved blade like a scythe.
The weapon was the only magical item he had gotten from the Daily Chest reward after the forest sneakers.
[Item] Flesh Reaper (Equipped)
[Rank] Common
[Description]
The Legendary Flesh Reaper. Can be stored in the inventory.
[Attack Power] +5
Compared to the forest sneakers, this one only had one positive effect, and even that didn't amount to anything.
Even though the Demon Razor steals from his health, it was still effective than this.
Rain stepped out of the room with multiple thoughts swirling around his mind, the most persistent one being the thought of earning money and XP — that was what kept singing in his brain.
Aside from the dangerous monsters lurking in them, Dungeons were like treasure holes, they were the root of top-ranking Awakeners' wealth.
As beings with the powers to defeat monsters, Awakeners were like kings, that was what they were.
When someone had superpowers and wealth, it wasn't an exaggeration to call them king.
Rain clenched his fist, in order for him to advance to level 6, it all came down to slaying real monsters.
