Aiden stepped off the train, his eyes lighting up with curiosity as he looked around the unfamiliar city. Towering buildings loomed in the distance, and the hustle of this new branch's location felt different from what he was used to. He had arrived early to get a feel of the place before meeting the team. This was a big opportunity, and deep down, he was excited—but there was a tug at his chest.
He thought of Sion.
He said no... but he's probably sulking somewhere with that pout again.
Little did he know, Sion wasn't just sulking—he was watching. From across the platform, dressed in sunglasses and a hoodie like some amateur spy, Sion tracked Aiden's every move.
"He seriously came alone," Sion muttered under his breath. "Doesn't he know how dangerous he looks when he's excited and smiling like that?"
Aiden walked toward the company's branch office building, completely unaware. As he greeted the receptionist and was guided upstairs, Sion slipped into the elevator behind another group of visitors. He managed to keep his distance, even snapping a few photos of Aiden smiling with the branch manager.
What are you doing here, seriously? Sion thought. If he falls in love with this place, what then?
By lunchtime, Aiden stepped into a local café, sipping on coffee and scrolling through his phone when he felt it—a presence. He looked up.
"Why do I feel like I'm being watched…" he muttered.
And just then, a familiar hand slid across the table, pulling his cup away.
"Sion?!"
"You weren't answering my texts," Sion said casually, sipping Aiden's coffee. "Also, it's my job to supervise… certain staff."
"You followed me?" Aiden's voice was a mix of shock and amusement.
"I'm here for quality control," Sion smirked, leaning in. "What if you like this city too much and forget about your hubby?"
Aiden rolled his eyes, but the warmth in his chest betrayed how much he liked that possessiveness.
"Well, what if I still want to transfer?"
Sion leaned closer, their knees touching under the table. "Then I'll relocate the entire headquarters here. Try me."
Aiden choked on his laugh. "You're insane."
"For you? Always."
That day, Aiden couldn't focus properly at the branch. Every time he turned a corner, he felt Sion lurking nearby. But somehow, the nerves of transferring were gone. He didn't know if he would accept the promotion yet.
But he knew one thing for sure.
Wherever Sion was… it already felt like home.
