"Danzo and these two advisors matter aside, and neither do I care about who you people choose for the Hokage's position," Fugaku spoke, instantly grabbing everyone's attention. "I want my Clan's reputation and prestige to return, and for that, I have a few conditions that I demand all of you members of the Hokage faction fulfill." Hiruzen nodded and asked, "What are your conditions?"
Fugaku replied, "First, I want my Clan's compound back inside the main area of the village, mixed with other Clans. Second, every claim and rumor about the Kyuubi's appearance being on us should be lifted. And last, the Uchiha Clan has been out of the inner circle of Konoha's governance for years; I want that right back as the Clan Head of one of the founding clans and a major Clan of Konoha."
If the situation had remained as it was before, no other Clans would have agreed with Fugaku's conditions, regardless of whether their approval was needed or not. But now, things were different. With all the corruption of Konoha's higher-ups brought to light, and the Uchiha Clan proven innocent in front of them, no one could directly refuse Fugaku's conditions. "Well, your conditions are not outrageous, and I don't think anyone disagrees," Hiruzen agreed with a tired sigh. "Phew, alright then, even though I resign from my position as Hokage, regarding your conditions, we will fulfill them regardless, how about after giving a funeral to the deceased from last night?"
Fugaku nodded, appreciating that at least this old fossil didn't forget about all those who died last night; of course, it included only Anbu, Sarutobi, and Uchiha Clansmen, not Root. "But wait, does that mean the Kyuubi incident was also done by Danzo?" Tsume asked suddenly. "Well, we have proof that Danzo also secretly gouged Sharingan eyes from the Uchiha Clan," Choza replied, pointing his hand towards the small gourd on the table. "So it wouldn't be much surprising if he really was the one behind it." Others also nodded, only Shisui aside, who knew it was Obito.
Well, alas, he also thought there was no use in mentioning Obito here, so let the blame for the Kyuubi's appearance fall on Danzo. "Matters about the Godaime Hokage position will be discussed later on; for now, the meeting is over," Hiruzen said tiredly. But before everyone could say or do anything, Kakashi shocked them. "Sandaime, I wish to leave Anbu now, and I want the rumors against Naruto to be completely gone from tomorrow onwards," Kakashi said, like an order, his expressions determined.
"Captain..." The members of Team Ro were the most shocked by his decision. Hiruzen sighed and tried to persuade Kakashi, but Shisui interrupted. "Well, I also wish to leave Anbu," Shisui said. "And if it's about the rumors of Naruto being gone, then the rumors against the Uchiha should also start to cease from tomorrow onwards, and I think publicizing the hard work of these three advisors and the Sandaime's mistakes would also be added, right?" Hearing that even Shisui wanted to leave Anbu, Hiruzen felt like he was getting a headache.
"Itachi, what about you? Do you still want to serve in Anbu or not?" Shisui asked Itachi. Fugaku also looked at Itachi, wishing he would also quit being in Anbu. "Um, I..." Itachi was dumbfounded by the sudden question. Whatever the case, he still wished good for the Village, and leaving Anbu might not be suited for him. However, under the expectant gazes of Shisui and Fugaku, Itachi couldn't directly say no. He simply made an excuse, "I will think about it; I can't decide it right now..." Shikaku Nara, observing all this with his dead fish eyes, muttered, "Haa, this is so troublesome."
Later, after the meeting, everyone started to disperse, while Shisui released Homura and Koharu from his Genjutsu. Both were quite shocked at what had happened to them, as they clearly remembered what they had said while in Genjutsu. They retorted, saying everything was a lie, blaming the Genjutsu, but who was going to believe them now? They were then taken by members of the Konoha Military Police, put behind bars. While the meeting regarding the Godaime Hokage couldn't just happen right now.
'But it's obvious, there are only two candidates left who possess Kage-level strength,' Shisui thought. 'One is Jiraiya and the other is Tsunade, and both are quite hard to convince for that position, especially Jiraiya, but whatever.' As Shisui, Fugaku, and Itachi exited, Fugaku carried the gourd of Sharingan with him; he didn't give it to members of the Konoha Military Police Force, but chose to keep it. Meanwhile, Shibi Aburame approached them and asked Shisui, "Shisui, can I talk to you for a minute?" Shisui was a little surprised but agreed.
"Shisui, is Torune also dead or alive?" Shibi Aburame asked, his expressions hidden behind his dark glasses and high collar. But his voice was easy to read; he was in anticipation and tense. Shisui had forgotten that Torune, whom he and Itachi had sneakily killed last night, was actually directly related to Shibi Aburame, the current head of the Aburame Clan. Though adopted, they grew up like brothers. Even Torune was quite talented; he even possessed a unique and dangerous poison-wielding insect called Rinkaichu. But Shibi obviously didn't care about that insect, but about Torune's current situation.
Shisui shook his head and said, "Sorry, Clan Head Shibi, pretty much all Root Anbu were dead last night, and Torune was also killed there." Despite his hidden expressions, Shisui could still discern that Shibi was sad about this news. Even though it was known that Shisui had killed him, Shibi couldn't harbor any hate for Shisui, as Torune died during his ninja duties, and what Shisui did also had a solid reason. Neither was it Shibi's nature to hate anyone unnecessarily. How could an insect lover hate someone after understanding both parties' situations?
Later in the evening, Shisui sat in Fugaku's house, in room with only Fugaku present with him. Meanwhile, Itachi took some time to really think about whether he should also quit Anbu or not, though his desire to stay in Anbu was still stronger than quitting. "Uncle, why didn't you choose yourself for the Godaime's position?" Shisui asked, internally, he wished that to be the case, since Fugaku, with Mangekyō, also possessed Kage-level strength, just like him. He was also more worthy for that position than Jiraiya and Tsunade; even if a gap still existed, his strength was sufficient.
"Shisui, there are reasons I can't become Hokage, even if I want to, there's no point in that," Fugaku replied, confusing Shisui a little, who tilted his head. Though he could think of one reason—Fugaku was an Uchiha. Even if currently no other clan could say anything about the conditions Fugaku had set to restore some of the Uchiha Clan's reputation, they would never agree to have any Uchiha become the next Hokage, at least not now, when just last night they had launched a coup. Though the blame for the coup couldn't be put on the Uchihas alone, it was a fact that they did launch a coup.
"Moreover, the main reason is, the Hokage's position should belong to one who can think of the whole village and doesn't partialize between others and his closest people," Fugaku told Shisui. "And I myself can't do that. Even though I myself don't want any harm to the village, to me, the Clan is more important than the whole village." Shisui nodded and internally thought, 'Fugaku, make sure to never say this in front of your son, Itachi; it's a good thing he is currently outside.'
Then Mikoto entered the room and asked Shisui with a polite smile, "Shisui-kun, would you like to have dinner here tonight?" Shisui immediately replied with a nod, "Since you asked so politely, I definitely would, Aunt Mikoto." Mikoto was a little surprised and asked, "Shisui, are you alright? I mean, this is the first time you've ever agreed to have a meal with us, and that too with a quick response. Looks like you've changed a little."
Fugaku also added his view on this point, "Yeah, now that I think about it, you've changed really a lot in just two days, and even at the Hokage office, the way you talk is really different. I noticed it last night as well, but I didn't think it would be this much of a change."
"Well, times change everyone and everything," Shisui shrugged casually, not bothered by their reactions and comments. "Who knows when someday you face death and the next moment you find yourself in someone else? Time is a really strange thing; maybe my example has nothing to do with time." Mikoto slightly tilted her head and said, "I.. really didn't understand what you said, but whatever, wait here; I will make dinner soon."
Saying that, she went to the kitchen, and directly then a soft voice came from the entrance of the house. "I am home, Mother, Father, I am back!" This was Sasuke Uchiha, Fugaku's younger son; well, everyone knew him, right? So no special introductions. Sasuke quickly came inside his father's room, where Shisui and Fugaku sat. "Father, where is Itachi nii-san?" Sasuke asked, scanning the room with his small dark eyes. Fugaku sighed and put back his stern look, reprimanding Sasuke lightly, "Sasuke, you should knock on the door before entering."
"Sorry, Father," Sasuke said, slumping his shoulders a little, before his eyes shone upon seeing Shisui. "Shisui nii-san, you know, I've been hearing praise for you from everyone in the compound," Sasuke said, coming towards Shisui and sitting beside him. "They say that you and Father have awakened the Legendary Sharingan, and yesterday, with your and Father's power, we took care of an emergency situation. Nii-san, show me your Legendary Sharingan." Sasuke's voice was a mix of appreciation and a hint of jealousy.
Jealousy because, even though Shisui and even Fugaku had awakened Mangekyō Sharingan, for Sasuke, only Itachi was his idol, he is a total ''Bro-con''. Last night, what happened outside the Uchiha Clan wasn't directly known to those who were evacuated in Naka Shrine, including Mikoto and Sasuke. They weren't even told full details at that time, only that it was an emergency situation. And that emergency situation was all thanks to Shisui's persuasion for the Uchiha's coup d'état plan to initiate immediately.
Now Sasuke, looking at Shisui with curious eyes, eager to see the Mangekyō Sharingan, which even Itachi hadn't awakened, and Fugaku obviously wouldn't fulfill this small wish of his son that easily, so Sasuke only expected Shisui for this. Shisui closed his eyes, and the next moment, he opened them, and the pattern of his eyes showed four-pointed shurikens, his Mangekyō's personal design.
"Wow, is this the legendary Sharingan of our Clan?" Sasuke said, his eyes shining even brighter. "It is called Mangekyō Sharingan, not just Legendary Sharingan," Shisui corrected him with a chuckle and thought inwardly, 'Seeing Sasuke like this is quite new. Well, his brooding personality was all thanks to the Uchiha massacre incident and hate for Itachi, but it's good that that incident now wouldn't happen and maybe Sasuke always remains this cheerful.'
Meanwhile, Sasuke immediately moved past the Mangekyō Sharingan matter and returned to his main question, "Where is Itachi nii-san?" Fugaku replied, "He is currently outside, thinking about something important."
"Hm, Itachi nii-san doesn't even make any time to train me," Sasuke said, pouting. "He is always busy with some matters." Shisui ruffled his hair and said, "Then how about I train you from tomorrow onwards?" Sasuke jumped in excitement upon hearing this, "Really?" Shisui nodded. While Sasuke wished to train with Itachi, he also wanted to show Itachi how strong he could become.
Later, Shisui had dinner with them and then went back to his own house. "Well, everything is going quite good, maybe the plot also changes a little, but that was important, since I don't want to die like Shisui did in the anime," Shisui muttered while walking slowly towards his house.
"Everything suddenly became like a good, happ—" he stopped mid-sentence, sensing someone behind him, just as he entered the area of his house. 'Well, how can everything be happy for the Uchiha Clan when this person still exists?' Shisui cursed internally upon seeing the intruder, whom he had almost forgotten, wearing an orange mask with a spiral pattern focused around his right eye. 'Fuck my luck!'
This was, as you all have already guessed, none other than Obito Uchiha, or perhaps Tobi currently. "Hello, you are Shisui Uchiha, right? I am Madara Uchiha." Obito said to Shisui in a deep voice, trying so hard to mimic like the real Madara Uchiha. 'Yeah, I know who you really are, you motherfucker!' Shisui snorted internally, but his outward expressions were neutral.
