The hidden leaf village, Konohagakure had been in peace for 7 years since the devastating Kyuubi attack. That night, the Nine-Tailed Fox ravaged the village, that incident take the lives of the Yondaime Hokage, his wife, and countless Jonin. Now, another significant event loomed. Just this afternoon, within the Hokage's meeting room, Shisui Uchiha unveiled his Mangekyo Sharingan to the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and the three village elders and advisors—Danzo Shimura, Homura Mitokado, and Koharu Utatane.
Konoha council and Hokage in the end decided that Shisui would use his Mangekyo ability on Fugaku Uchiha, the clan head, to subtly halt the impending coup d'etat. The path ahead seemed clear. Danzo would attack Shisui, seizing his right eye. Shisui would escape, entrust his left eye to Itachi, and then take his own life by leaping into the Naka River. Following this, Itachi would awaken his Mangekyo Sharingan, and months later, the Uchiha clan would be annihilated—a catastrophic event that would erase remaining of Konoha's founding clans, leaving only a young Sasuke. Yet, as Shisui and Itachi exited the Hokage's Building, something unexpected occurred.
A soul transmigrated, in the body of the unlucky and ill-fated Shisui Uchiha. Standing outside the Hokage Building, the new Shisui Uchiha wore a shocked expression as a lifetime of memories flooded his mind. He received all of Shisui's experiences up to that moment, alongside his own recollections of an anime called 'Naruto', complete with its plot and future events. This deluge of information took place within minutes, causing Shisui's dark eyes to widen in disbelief.
'I am really happy that I didn't die and got another chance in life with this transmigration,' Shisui thought, 'But why the fuck did it have to be Shisui of all people here, and that too on the day he dies? FUCK?' As Shisui cursed his mixed fortune of good and bad luck, Itachi gently nudged his shoulder.
"Shi-san, what are you thinking?" Itachi asked, "Are you nervous?" Shisui stared at Itachi with a blank expression. 'Nervous? You can't even predict how scared I am right now.' He took a deep breath, calming his nerves slightly, then smiled at Itachi. "Yeah, a little, but everything is alright. First, let's go back to the clan compound together for now." Itachi raised his eyebrows, looking at Shisui as if he had said something unbelievable.
"Shi-san, didn't you just say you would take a detour by the Naka River before going to compound? Why the sudden change of mind?" Itachi was not surprised by Shisui's words, but rather by the subtle shift in his tone, which hinted that Shisui was considering stepping back from the decisions made in the recent meeting.
Itachi's intuition was accurate. This was not the Shisui he had known for years; it was a transmigrated soul, aware of the impending dangers to himself, his clan, and the entire world. The mission given by the Hokage moments ago held no significance for him; it was not his responsibility, nor did he care about it. Even if it did matter, he would not undertake it, for nothing was more important than his own life. He had just been given another chance of existence, and nothing could outweigh that.
His mind churned, racing at an incredible speed of more than 1000 miles per second, filled with thoughts of the plot, the events about to unfold, and how he could change them to ensure his personal safety. He remembered that the original Shisui had told Itachi to return to the clan compound while he took some time alone, heading towards the Naka River. Itachi was surprised by this sudden change of plans and the way Shisui spoke, which did not suggest he would follow the original decision of Hokage.
Nevertheless, Itachi had no suspicion or doubt on Shisui. Afterall Shisui was his teacher and like an elder brother figure to him. After Sasuke, Shisui was the person Itachi cared for most, even more than his own parents, Fugaku and Mikoto, or his girlfriend, Izumi. The original Shisui did not choose to go directly to Fugaku with Itachi to use Kotoamatsukami because that was not his primary objective, and the situation was evolving rapidly. His focus had been on preventing the coup. The choice to go to the Naka River, where he would encounter Danzo, was driven by the urgency to protect the village.
'But that was obviously his very bad and unlucky choice,' Shisui sighed, recalling the original Shisui's fate in the anime, a fate he now wished to avoid. 'I remember, in the novel Itachi Shinden, Shisui Uchiha was poisoned by an Aburame clan member from Root Anbu under Danzo's command after the meeting in the Hokage Building.'
'And there is a possibility that insects from that Aburame have already entered my chakra pathways, starting to infect me with poison.' Shisui speculated, 'If I don't want the same fate as of the original Shisui, then first I should go to the Uchiha Compound and start planning.'
A smile remained on his face as he told Itachi, "Don't worry, Itachi, I wouldn't disobey Hokage-sama's order, but first I need some time to think more; it feels like a betrayal to the clan." Itachi nodded and replied, "Well, if you wish, but don't worry, Shi-san, I am with you."
Shisui smiled with joy now. With that, they headed directly to the Uchiha Clan Compound within the village. No matter how extreme Danzo might be, he would certainly not attack Shisui inside the village. In the anime, his attack was near the Naka River, which is on the outskirts of Konoha, far from the main area. Shisui was also alone there, and Danzo knew he could easily deal with Shisui before that even if someone were to witness the battle, and comes there. However, all that was from the anime, and Shisui knew it. Safeguarding himself was paramount for now. What to do afterward, he would consider later.
'I just transmigrated and already have to focus on saving my life,' Shisui thought inwardly, frustrated. 'But I have no other choice. First, I have to go to my house in the Clan Compound, which is the most secure place for me right now.'
The excuse he gave Itachi, about feeling like he was betraying the clan, was not entirely fabricated. The original Shisui also felt that using Kotoamatsukami on Fugaku, especially given the Uchiha clan's strong sense of honor and loyalty, could have been perceived as a direct betrayal, potentially escalating the situation rather than resolving it.
Using the Body Flicker Technique, Shisui's specialty, both he and Itachi swiftly reached the Clan Compound. Shisui bid farewell to Itachi for now and quickly moved towards his house. As he stepped inside, he sighed in relief, thinking, 'I am safe, but only for now. Fuck, if this stupid didn't show his Mangekyo to Danzo, I wouldn't be under this much pressure. Or if I had transmigrated just before he did that stupid thing.' He shook his head and muttered, 'Whatever, it's already happens. Now I need to focus on how to solve this problem. I have no desire to die this early, especially not when I just transmigrated, like, what, not even for an hour.'
Shisui's house was a modest, medium-sized wooden structure, with simple, basic furnishings in the bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. He went to the kitchen, poured a glass of water, drank it, then refilled and drank another, and another. His mind was a whirlwind of frustration, confusion, and desperate planning for a future that currently seemed bleak. After drinking ten glasses of water and slamming the final glass down, he contemplated, "Fuck Konoha and Uchiha. My life is more important. Since the Uchiha are already thinking about a coup against Konoha, why don't I just make their wish come true?"
After a few moments, he shook his head. "No, no, that might directly make me Danzo's target. Even Hiruzen might not say anything if Danzo then gouges my eyes in front of him. From what I know of Danzo, he won't sit back idly for long, not when he already knows my Mangekyo and its ability."
"He would currently start planning something again, since his current plan failed to find a moment to attack me," he thought, pondering a little more. "Looks like my only option for now is to make the Uchiha Clan's long-awaited Coup d'etat plan come true. If the Uchiha Clan wins, that's good; otherwise, I will just leave this fucking village and nation." Shisui's mind was overwhelmed with thoughts, too unsettled to think of any other better plan.
"But is there even any better plan for me, aside from using my Kotoamatsukami on either Hiruzen or Danzo?"
