Chapter 4 - Episode 4 :- The Past Never Dies

The rain soaked the streets of the city, casting a moody blur through the police headquarters' glass windows. Detective Lucy sat at her desk, going over the photos of the most recent murder—stab wounds, swift, precise, eerily familiar.

Lucy (muttering): "Same angle... same pattern... just like the case three years ago. But we closed that one."

[Cut to Lucy sitting in her apartment, researching.]

Flashback starts: A younger Lucy is standing before a police commissioner.

Commissioner: "You've got talent, Lucy. Unmatched intuition. But you need to stop digging where others failed."

Lucy: "I don't chase ghosts. I hunt the truth."

Lucy's obsession with unsolved cases led her to join the force, inspired by a cold case involving her own sibling. Since then, she's solved three major serials. But the 3-year-old murder case always haunted her.

She stood up, grabbed her coat, and pinned a photo to a crime board beside other eerily similar cases. A red string connected them all—except one. She paused at the face of the new victim.

Lucy: "This wasn't just a copycat... this is personal."

[Scene Sift To Shurya after Leaving library What he is Doing]

Location: Abandoned Research Wing – Edge of Nashik Forests

Time: Midnight

The moonlight filtered through shattered windows as Shurya stepped inside the decaying remains of the Bhargav Biotech Lab—one of the earliest sites he remembered from the fragmented nightmares of his youth. Dust covered old computer consoles. Moss climbed up the cracked walls like time itself trying to erase the horror inside.

He moved cautiously, sweeping his hand over the cold metal table stained with rust—or was it blood?

Shurya (whispering):

"Why did my feet bring me here again? What was this place to us?"

Suddenly, his hand brushed against a recessed panel on the far wall. A mechanical click sounded, and the wall groaned open, revealing a hidden archive room.

Inside: rows of data disks, yellowing files, and a cracked monitor still humming softly. Shurya powered up the terminal, his fingers flying over the keyboard as he typed in fragments from his memory.

[ACCESSING FILE: SUBJECT CODE: K-9]

Initiate Archive Footage?

Shurya clenched his jaw. K-9—the label he'd only heard in fragments—was him. A number. A weapon.

He initiated the footage.

[Old CCTV Footage — Date: 2021, Agra Facility]

The screen flickered. A blurred figure stood still as fire erupted behind him. In the chaos, a lab technician yelled, "Number 2 has gone berserk—he absorbed the energy field!" The man turned slightly, revealing a scarred face… glowing red eyes… and then—static.

Shurya (quietly):

"Number 2... he's still alive."

He closed the console slowly and stood up, mind racing. The memories were faint, but Number 2—he remembered flashes of sparring as kids in the labs, Number 2 protecting him from the scientists, before turning cold and brutal.

Shurya:

"You saved me once. Now I need to find you… before you lose yourself completely."

He turned, pulling his hood up and stepping into the darkness beyond the lab. Lightning cracked across the night sky.

Shurya (voiceover):

"K-9 is awake. And he's hunting the past."

[Scene: Late Evening, Inside Lucy's Investigation Chamber – Crime Unit HQ, Mumbai]

Rain drizzled gently on the glass windows of the Crime Unit. Inside, the only light came from a few flickering monitors and Lucy's desk lamp. Walls were covered with pinned photos, case reports, and crime scene maps. All lines now converged to two names: Khan and Pathan.

Lucy leaned forward, eyes narrowed, scribbling in her worn-out leather journal.

Lucy (thinking):

"Khan's behavior matches none of his psychological records... mood swings, amnesia, combat skill... but this new persona, Shurya, isn't just a phase. He's a trained killer. No... something worse."

She flipped through police archives, then paused at a set of grisly photos. Three victims from three years ago—similar wounds, similar locations. A case gone cold.

Lucy (murmuring):

"Stabbed with surgical precision... no security footage... all had ties to Project K..."

Her eyes widened. One word kept appearing—"Experiment."

Just then, her partner Vikram burst in.

Vikram:

"Lucy! Emergency bulletin just aired. Pathan's declared Khan a national threat. All units are to engage on sight."

Lucy's breath caught. She pushed back from the table.

Lucy:

"That... doesn't make sense. He's his childhood friend. Why the sudden shift?"

Vikram:

"Maybe he knows something we don't."

Lucy nodded slowly but kept her suspicions to herself.

[Scene: Secret Basement – Pathan's Hidden Surveillance Center]

Pathan stood in the center of a dimly lit basement room. Monitors showed satellite feeds, facial recognition scans, and real-time tracking. A live video of Shurya in a black hoodie, walking confidently through an industrial zone, played on the main screen.

Pathan (muttering):

"You're getting bolder, Shurya... And Khan's slipping further away."

He opened a hidden drawer. Inside was a dossier labeled "Subject-09: Khan." He flipped it open beside another one—"Subject-02: Rav".

He tapped a button. A red-marked location appeared on the screen—Navi Mumbai – Sector 47, Biohazard Zone.

Pathan (to himself):

"Time to find Subject-02. Maybe he's the key to stopping this before it becomes irreversible."

[Scene: Deserted Shipping Yard – Navi Mumbai]

Shurya stood alone on a towering metal container, scanning the area. The air was cold, heavy. His breath was steady. He was no longer hiding.

From the shadows, a tall, muscular figure emerged—half his face covered in metal plating, the rest scarred like burnt tissue. His glowing red cybernetic eye locked onto Shurya.

Rav (gruff voice):

"You came."

Shurya:

"I had to. You were Experiment #2. I'm #9. We were brothers once."

Rav clenched his fists, sparks flying from his knuckles.

Rav:

"Brothers? They tortured me. Burned me from the inside. You escaped. I survived. That makes me stronger."

Shurya stepped down slowly, calm.

Shurya:

"Then prove it."

Without another word, Rav lunged forward. A brutal clash followed—raw punches, enhanced speed, shattered crates, and sparks illuminating the dark. Shurya ducked and countered, eyes glowing faint blue as he activated his suppressed ability—Kinetic Freeze. For two seconds, Rav slowed mid-air.

Shurya (coldly):

"Still too predictable."

He smashed Rav into a steel wall. But Rav, grinning, pulled himself up.

Rav:

"They made me immune to pain. You can't win with just tactics."

Shurya's smirk vanished. The fight had just begun.

[Scene: Abandoned Lab – Outskirts of City]

Pathan, flashlight in hand, moved through the rusting ruins of Dr. Vikrant's old lab. The walls were covered in strange codes and diagrams. Burnt files, broken vials, shattered screens—yet amidst the mess, one hidden server still blinked.

He plugged in a portable decoder.

Suddenly, a video played:

A young Pathan, age 10, screaming while being injected.

Dr. Vikrant's voice:

"Subject-03 is showing promising obedience. Will keep him under psychological leash through emotional anchor: Subject-09."

Pathan stepped back, breathing heavily.

Dr. Vikrant (recorded voice):

"If Khan's personalities go out of control, use Pathan to manipulate guilt. Push him to the edge—make him the weapon."

Pathan clenched his fists.

Pathan (growling):

"You used me... made me betray my only friend. But not anymore."

From the shadows, a door creaked.

Dr. Vikrant (emerging slowly, now much older):

"Oh, but you still are useful, my dear Subject-03. Unless you'd prefer I activate your kill code?"

Pathan froze. His hand twitched, eyes dilated.

Pathan:- Now You can't control me, This time I am with Khan.

Dr. Vikrant:

"What a Childish Act, You said,You are going to Protect Khan. No, You are going to kill him."

[Dr Vikrant Now Press a Button and Said Some Words ]

Pathan (Angerly) :- No, You Cant Take Over Me this Time.

Vikrant:- You already Devored By Your Past, You are Not a Saviour, You are a Killer Machine.

Pathan(In pain):- I am Not a Killer, That's You Who killed All 3 Year Ago.

Vikrant:- But You Enjoyed Pathan, That's Your True Nature, Come Back to Me and Arise.

Pathan Now Devored by his Dark Parsona Which Also Follows Dr Vikrant Orders

Vikrant:- That's My Child, Now You are Ready For War.

Pathan:- As Always Sir, I am Ready to Tear Him Apart.

[Scene: Police HQ – Lucy's Office]

Lucy now sat opposite the Police Commissioner. Pathan's announcement had gone public. Wanted posters of Khan were being printed.

Lucy:

"I don't trust this. He's hiding something."

Commissioner:

"Do you have proof?"

Lucy:

"Not yet. But I'll get it. And when I do, you'll wish you'd listened earlier."

After leaving, Lucy returned to her files. She opened a private folder. It read: "Case: Pathan's Disappearance – 15 years." There were gaps—Pathan had vanished between ages 7–22. No records. No photos.

Lucy (thinking):

"Who trained him? Who gave him that badge?"

She looked over at a map with red strings connecting murder cases from three years ago.

Lucy (softly):

"Shurya's kills... follow the same pattern as the ones Pathan claimed to solve..."

Her eyes lit up.

"He wasn't solving the murders. He was covering them up."

[Scene: Slums – Next Morning]

Shurya limped through the alleyways, blood on his knuckles. He found a cracked mirror.

Shurya (whispering to himself):

"Rav was strong... but not stronger than me."

But inside, a voice whispered. Khan's voice.

Khan (echoing):

"What are you doing? This isn't justice..."

"Let me Out From Here"

Shurya flinched. For the first time in days, Khan's voice reached through the fog. He looked at his trembling hands.

Shurya:

"You're not strong enough to handle what's coming. Let me protect us."

Khan (faintly):

"I didn't ask you to kill..."

The voice faded. Shurya punched the mirror.
