Chapter 7 - Episode 7 :- “The Mind’s Door”

[Aftermath at the Church Ruins]

Location: Abandoned Church – Night

Rain pours mercilessly. The cold stone floor is stained with the Riddler's blood. Khan stands still, watching the child sleep in Lucy's arms. The echo of Riddler's last words haunts the air:

Riddler (dying):

"You didn't even realize how easily you solved me… You're not just Khan anymore."

Lucy (softly):

"Khan… we need to talk. Who exactly are you becoming?"

Khan stays silent, the shadows in his eyes deepening. Thunder rolls above.

[Location: Underground Fight Den, Mumbai – Night]

A figure stands in front of a wall covered in photographs—Khan, Shurya, Lucy, and Dr. Vikrant. This is Subject 2 – the Phantom. His eyes burn with restrained rage. Deep scars line his face and arms.

He tapes a newspaper clipping that reads "Riddler Dead. Investigation Continues" beside Khan's face.

Phantom (to himself):

"Riddler was weak… but he served his purpose. Now it's my turn."

Phantom (Smirks) :- This Time Who is Going to Come,Shurya, Veer or Madman.

He grabs a black trench coat, straps two blades across his back, and walks out into the storm.

Location: Lucy's Hideout

Khan sits on a couch, visibly worn. Lucy places tea before him and sits across.

Lucy:

"You've changed. Since we met, you've been sharper. Like something inside you is… evolving."

Khan looks up at her, conflicted.

Khan:

"I've been seeing things. Solving riddles like they're second nature. It's like… someone's whispering the answers in my head."

Lucy leans in.

Lucy:

"Do you know who?"

Khan (low voice):

"Maybe it's time I find out."

Lucy (Hesitation)

I think this is not a Right time, But I need to tell you.

Khan (Surprise)

Now, What Are you going to Tell?

Lucy sets a file gently on the wooden table. She takes a deep breath, watching Khan carefully.

Lucy:

"Khan… there's something you need to know. Something about you."

Khan (confused):

"What do you mean? What else haven't you told me?"

Lucy (carefully):

"You remember the men who attacked us at the café a few weeks ago?"

Khan (nods):

"Yeah… Pathan was there. But I don't remember much after he told me to stay calm."

Lucy (softly):

"That's because you weren't there anymore."

Khan (frowns):

"What are you talking about?"

Lucy reaches into her jacket and pulls out a blood-stained photograph. It's a blurry security camera shot showing Khan mid-fight—but his expression is wild, different, inhuman. His eyes are glowing, his body more muscular and tense.

Lucy (seriously):

"His name is Shurya. A personality inside you. He took over when the gunshot went off. He saved us."

Khan (whispers):

"No… no, that's not possible…"

Lucy (gently):

"He's strong… terrifyingly strong. His trigger is the sound of gunfire. I did my research. He first appeared the night your family was killed, right?"

Khan freezes. His breath shortens. Memories flood his mind—screams, gunfire, a child's cry, then darkness.

Khan (trembling):

"I… I heard a shot… I saw blood… then nothing. Just silence. Then I woke up somewhere else…"

Lucy (softly):

"Shurya was born to protect you. That night, he rose. And he never left."

Khan (clutches head):

"No… no, stop…"

Lucy (reaches forward):

"Khan, listen—this is important. You're not alone in your mind. And Shurya is just the beginning."

Suddenly, Khan's pupils dilate. A high-pitched sound rings in his ears. His body tenses, and his breathing turns erratic.

Khan (hoarse):

"Make it stop… make it—"

His eyes roll back. He collapses. Blackout.

[Khan's Mind – A Dark Chamber]

Dark. Silent. Vast.

Khan wakes up lying in an infinite void. The ground below him is dark glass, reflecting endless stars above. In front of him are five chairs in a perfect arc. Four are empty—one is occupied.

A tall figure sits calmly, dressed in a clean white lab coat, scribbling notes on a glowing tablet. Beside him hovers a small spherical robot, blinking with a soft blue light.

Khan blinks, his voice echoing as he steps forward.

Khan (cautiously):

"Where… am I?"

The man in the coat looks up and smiles faintly. His eyes are sharp, analytical, yet calm—intelligent. The robot buzzes and scans Khan gently.

Captain:

"Welcome back, Khan. I was wondering when you'd finally open your eyes... in here."

Khan (confused):

"Who are you? Why do you look like me?"

Captain (nodding):

"Because I am you. Or at least, a part of you. I'm the one who's been quietly keeping your mind sharp, helping you analyze, learn faster, adapt. You can call me... Captain."

Khan:

"Captain? What does that even mean? Why now? Why reveal yourself?"

Captain (sighs, puts down tablet):

"Because you're too exposed now. Shurya was strength... brute force. But you're facing someone smarter this time. Subject 2—Phantom. You need logic, deduction. That's my department."

The little robot floats to Khan and projects holograms—Khan solving riddles, reading complex puzzles, navigating traps.

Captain:

"All that progress… it was me. I've been supporting you from the shadows. But now, we go forward together. No more hiding."

Khan (processing):

"…So you've been… inside me this whole time. Helping?"

Captain (nods):

"Yes. Each of us was born from something. Shurya came from pain. I came from necessity—the survival instinct of the mind needing control and clarity. Your mind created us to endure."

Khan slowly turns to the other chairs—three still empty.

Khan (whispers):

"And the others?"

Captain (pointing):

"This one—Shurya's. He emerged when bullets took your family. A protector… a warrior."

He points to the second chair—dark red and slightly scorched.

Captain:

"That is Veer's seat. He's wrath. If your rage spirals, he comes. But heed this—Veer is cruel, reckless. If he awakens… there may not be anything left to protect."

Khan (tense):

"And the last two?"

Captain (shrugs slightly):

"…Unknown. Even I haven't seen them. Yet. But they're part of you, Khan. Waiting."

Khan walks toward the Captain, looking around the strange, starlit space.

Khan:

"So what now? You said we need to face Phantom."

Captain (stands, confident):

"We plan. Phantom is smart—faster, stronger, maybe more enhanced than Shurya. But he's also arrogant. We use that."

The robot opens a holographic blueprint of traps, puzzles, and Phantom's previous movements.

Captain:

"While you rest here, your mind learns. When we return, you'll know what to do."

Khan stares at the glowing patterns, slowly nodding.

Khan:

"I'm not just fighting monsters outside… I'm discovering myself."

Captain (smiles):

"Exactly. And trust me, Khan—we're just getting started."

[Scene Ends – Fade out from Mindscape]

Khan gasps and sits up. Lucy stares at him.

Lucy (worried):

"You blacked out. For 12 minutes."

Khan (with new confidence):

"I met someone. His name is Captain. And I think… he's the mind I needed."

Lucy notices his eyes—they're more alert, focused, calculating.

Lucy:

"You're changing. Fast."

Khan pins photos on a board—Subjects 1 through 9.

Khan:

"I know Subject 2 is alive. He's coming. But if I'm going to face him, I need more than strength. I need to find his trail."

Lucy nods.

Lucy:

"Then we start digging into every destroyed lab, hidden facility, and failed report. He's out there."

As they scan documents, Captain's voice rings in Khan's head.

Captain (internal):

"We'll find him… together."

[The Phantom Moves]

Location: Rooftop, Mumbai

Subject 2 stares down at the glowing city, his breath misting in the night.

Phantom:

"Khan… I'm done waiting. You escaped once. Not again."

He pulls out a photo of a scientist—with "NEXT" written across it.

Location: Village near Mumbai

The rescued child, Aarav, draws pictures with Khan under a tree. Lucy watches from a distance, arms crossed.

Lucy (to herself):

"He's at peace… for now. But the storm is coming."

Back in the mind chamber, Captain now sits beside Khan.

Captain:

"They'll all awaken in time. But first… let's outsmart a ghost."
