Chapter 22 - Chapter Twenty Two

Lopen

"Good work on finding out who sent those intruders, Davin" I praised as we strolled through the front lawn into the house.

"I'm short for words" Davin admits. "It's the first time you've praised me"

"Well, it certainly won't be the last if you continue to protect Emmiel"

The house was rather quiet. Could Emmiel be sleeping? All he ever does all day was sleep. I should take him out today.

"Davin, you wouldn't know any spot to just kick back and relax, would you?" I asked.

Davin clears his throat. "I have heard about some famous spots downtown"

"Good. Write them down in a piece of paper. Emmiel and I would be trying them all"

Without waiting for a response from him, I stomped upstairs to Emmiel's room.

"Emmiel?" I called out but he was nowhere to be seen. Turning on the bathroom knob, I peeped in. "Emmiel?"

Still nothing. Just as I was about to leave his room, I noticed something in the trash bin.

Pulling it out, I stilled. What in the world is this? A pregnancy test result? Emmiel is pregnant?

"What the fuck?" I rasped, rushing towards his wardrobe and flinging it open. As I thought, some of his clothes were missing.

But I thought he was a recessive omega. The omega facility had told me so and recessive omegas can't get pregnant unless Emmiel had deceived me.

Storming out of his room, I called out for Marie. "Marie! Marie!"

Marie runs out towards me, breathing heavily. "Yes sir?"

"Where the fuck is Emmiel?"

"I-I.."

"Answer me!"

Marie sinks low to her knees. "I'm sorry, sir but Emmiel isn't in the residence anymore. I'd closed my eyes for a second and when I woke up, I couldn't find him"

Emmiel. My cunning omega. So you decided to run away from me with my babies? I will find you.

You belong to no one else but me, Emmiel. I will find you and make you regret ever leaving me.

"Is everything alright, Alpha?" Davin inquires, approaching me.

"Of course. Everything is not alright. Emmiel is gone"

Davin appeared alarmed. "Someone broke into the mansion to kidnap him again?"

"Even worse" I admit. "He left of his own accord"

"I don't think Emmiel would do that to you" Davin argued. "He loves you"

I laughed over Davin's word. "Love? If he loves me then why did he lie to me?"

"Lie?" Davin furrowed his brow, confused. "What do you mean, Alpha?"

"It's none of your business" I declared. "Davin, you're good at finding people; track down Emmiel for me. He wouldn't have gone very far.'

I added, "Besides, he doesn't have any place to go. I'm certain he dare not return back to the omega facility. Let me know if you find anything. I'll be in my office"

Moving to my office, I slammed the door shut; banging my fist on the desk.

"I give you a chance to step out in the open and you take that chance to runaway from me" I muttered, breaking into a hysterical laugh. "Wait till I get my hands on you, Emmiel"

A knock was heard against my door. "Who is there?"

"It's me, Beta Davin"

"Come in" The door unlocks as Davin strolls in. "I hope you have good news for me"

"I found a trail of Emmiel. He boarded a train two towns over under a false name"

"Could you get an inkling of where he's headed"

"Somewhere in the southern border"

That got my attention but I could tell there was more to it. Something that wasn't going to please me. "But?"

"He's not journeying alone"

The fuck? Has he given birth alread—

"He's with Alpha Asai"

Emmiel! Emmiel!! Emmiel!!! Of all people he thought to runaway to it was my no-good brother.

I was certain without a doubt that Asai had intentionally left those trails for Davin to find so that I'd know Emmiel was with him to spite me.

"Now that's something I can't overlook"

"What should we do, Alpha?"

"Notify me of their final destination. I'll take it up from there"

"But—"

"You may have won numerous wars on the Battlefield, Davin but believe me when I say, you're no match for Asai" I clarify. "He's an alpha and ten times more sturdy than you even if he's a weak and petty Alpha at that"

"Still, "Davin argued. "It's your brother we're talking about. He might be up to no-good and pull tricks on you"

I rested my hands on Davin's shoulder. "Irrespective of Asai posing himself as a weakling, I know full well of what he's capable of. So, don't worry about me"

"Rather, worry about the person that ran away with my foolish brother" I sighed. "I do have an idea of where they might be headed but I need to be certain so keep me posted"

"Will do, Alpha"

"Now, get out"

Once Davin was gone, I picked up my phone to call Kent, the head of the omega facilty. Did he agree with Emmiel to deceive me?

"I hate this" I snarled. "Did they all think I was that easy?"

Kent's line remained unanswered that I had no other choice than to stop calling. He messed with the wrong person.

When I was done with Emmiel, Kent—as well as the entire omega facilty— was next to be buried in the ground.

Davin re-enters my office. "They've come to a stop, Alpha"

"Good, where?"

"At Victoria"

I thought as much. There was a safe house at victoria owned by my father. It was rarely ever used. Abandoned, to say the most.

Although due to the turn of events, I'm pretty sure father had placed it under Asai's name. Not that I care. Truly, Asai had intended for me to find them.

Emmiel was truly a fool for running to him.

"Well, that's my cue to join them"

Strolling out of my office, I set out to bring back home my runaway bride.
