Chapter 18 - DULK: Chapter 18

"No, Miss Riveria Ljos Alf, you don't need to defend him. This idiot has done this before! He's only been an adventurer for two days, and he's already causing so much trouble."

Eina said helplessly. The first day, he went to the fifth floor; the second day, the ninth. Are you planning on going to the middle floors tomorrow? You're so reckless!

Holding her forehead, Eina sighed, leaving Riveria Ljos Alf speechless. She could only look at Arthas apologetically.

Arthas shrugged indifferently. He'd just be scolded by Eina, and going to the ninth floor was his fault; he'd promised not to go adventuring again.

What surprised Riveria Ljos Alf was that Arthas had only been an adventurer for two days. Even if he'd been with other adventurers, she had to admire his boldness.

Wallenstein stared in disbelief. If he'd only been an adventurer for two days, how could he have used such powerful magic?

Wallenstein couldn't understand but was even more curious about Arthas.

"Alright, I'll go exchange the crystal. Wait a moment."

Riveria Ljos Alf said, heading to the exchange counter with Wallenstein, leaving Eina and Arthas alone.

After they left, Eina's smile vanished, and she glared at Arthas.

"What happened today? Don't tell me you went to the ninth floor because you hadn't encountered any monsters."

Eina said this, massaging her temples.

She couldn't think of any other reason for Arthas to reach the ninth floor.

The monsters on the ninth floor were impossible for a new adventurer to defeat, unless Arthas's stats were B or A rank.

But it was impossible to have such stats right after signing a contract. Basic ability improvement is linked to race and skill usage frequency; without hard work, such strength is impossible.

There was only one possibility: as Arthas said, he hadn't encountered any monsters on his way to the ninth floor.

But what was the reason for this even more improbable scenario?

Eina frowned, racking her brain, unable to find an answer. Riveria Ljos Alf and Wallenstein returned.

"This is 2,000 Valis, as compensation from the Loki Familia. Keep it safe."

Placing the heavy money pouch in Arthas's palm, Riveria Ljos Alf whispered in his ear.

Feeling the elf's fragrance and warm breath, Arthas was captivated.

Riveria Ljos Alf's unintentional gentleness always captivated him.

"Then… see you again. Ais, let's go."

Before he could react, the two girls said goodbye and left the Adventurer's Guild.

"How did you meet those two from the Loki Familia?"

Sensing the closeness between Arthas and Riveria Ljos Alf, Eina asked curiously.

"I can't say. It involves Loki Familia's privacy."

Arthas shook his head, refusing to answer. The Minotaur incident should be kept secret.

"Oh well, I'm not a gossipy person. Besides, gossiping about the Loki Familia's strong adventurers is asking for trouble."

Riveria Ljos Alf and Wallenstein had countless admirers; speaking ill of them would invite trouble.

"Don't rush off. We need to talk about your actions! As your advisor, I'm responsible for you. If you hadn't been lucky enough to encounter the Loki Familia, you'd be dead! Once is luck, twice is luck, how long do you think your luck will last?"

"Let's save the lecture for tomorrow. It's too late. Hestia will be worried; I need to go home."

Arthas said, ignoring Eina, and left.

"Hey, you idiot! Come back here!"

Watching Arthas run off, Eina sighed helplessly. She was just an advisor; Arthas could choose whether to follow her advice.

This is your fault. Don't think I won't tell Hestia!

Eina was sure Hestia didn't know about Arthas's reckless descent. If she did, she'd come looking for Eina immediately.

Being an advisor was difficult, especially with adventurers like him.

Sighing, Eina returned to her work.

3,000 Valis wasn't a huge amount, but it was a fortune for Arthas and Hestia. Hestia only earned a few dozen Valis a day selling fried potatoes. A new adventurer earning 100-200 Valis a day was considered impressive.

3,000 Valis was equivalent to Hestia's earnings for a month.

"You're back! Why so late? Didn't I tell you to be careful and not take unnecessary risks?!"

Hestia had been waiting for Arthas. When he entered, she said this with displeasure.

"There was a little accident, but everything's fine."

"Eh… you were in danger? I told you to be careful! What would I do if something happened to you?!"

Hestia gently touched Arthas's hands, checking for injuries.

Arthas heard the deep worry and care in her voice, causing him to smile gently and stroke the Goddess's head.
