As the sun set, Arthas returned to the shrine's hidden room, holding the crystal-clear ice plate. His expression was indifferent as he looked at the rows of numbers.
His abilities as an adventurer were clearly displayed, but the numbers were pathetically low.
These stats were lower than the average adult male, let alone an adventurer.
Seeing Arthas's silence, Hestia looked worried. She approached him, speaking nervously to comfort him.
"Don't be too sad, Arthas. These stats aren't great, but it's just the beginning. You'll improve."
"It's okay, Hestia. I don't care."
Arthas shook his head, signaling Hestia not to worry. Though his physical condition was terrible, it didn't matter.
He could feel the power within him, a power capable of destruction once mastered.
Unclean Frost?
Though Arthas appeared unconcerned, Hestia felt even more responsible.
"It's my fault. I made you sign a contract with such a useless God."
"That's not Hestia's fault. Strength after signing a contract depends on your effort. You have nothing to blame yourself for."
Arthas said this with a light chuckle, stroking Hestia's head to comfort her.
Though Arthas seemed unconcerned, Hestia couldn't be. She fell into rare silence, her brow furrowed in thought.
Then, as if making a decision, she turned away from Arthas and silently walked towards the wardrobe.
Opening the wardrobe, she tiptoed, stretching to reach a custom-made coat. Putting on the coat, which even concealed her ample bust, Hestia walked past Arthas.
"There's a banquet at my workplace, so I'll be out. Arthas, you can treat yourself to a luxurious meal."
Chuckling lightly, Hestia left before Arthas could speak.
A banquet at her workplace? Arthas paused, slightly surprised.
Hestia, working at an ordinary shop, would attend a banquet? And she was dressed so formally.
Curious, as dusk fell, Arthas prepared to have dinner with Syr.
The dark blue twilight and the bright full moon replaced the fading sun, along with countless cheerful voices.
Workers leaving work and adventurers returning safely from the Dungeon seemed to be celebrating the end of the day, immersing themselves in alcohol. The lively atmosphere spilled from the open shops, along with shouts and laughter. Silhouettes danced along the well-lit streets, illuminated by the orange lights spilling from the establishments.
The tavern he passed every morning was difficult to find amidst the night and crowds. Arthas wandered around for a while, unable to locate it.
"It should be around here…"
Arthas, who disliked crowds, muttered to himself, swaying his head like a lost child in the bustling main street.
The surroundings were completely different from the empty street of the morning, making it difficult to find the shop. It was hard to believe this was the same place.
With taverns as the center, the lively street was filled with warmth, making the people cheerful. Hobbits and goblins, representatives of the small folk, walked arm-in-arm, singing loudly. Dwarves, known for their strong warriors, laughed boisterously.
There were female beastfolk with animal ears and tails in daring outfits, and Amazons in even more revealing attire, striding confidently, ignoring the gazes of others.
Popular music from string and wind instruments flowed from all sides, adding to the lively atmosphere.
The main street had completely transformed into its nighttime self.
"…This… should be it?"
Finally finding a familiar shop, Arthas stopped at the entrance.
It was a stone building, like the others, but this two-story building was perhaps the largest among the taverns.
Syr's tavern,
Arthas entered, having confirmed his destination.
He first saw a buxom woman tending the bar—presumably the owner. Cat-eared catgirl waitresses bustled in the visible kitchen, and the order takers were all women.
The staff seemed to be all female, explaining the name
Arthas even spotted a proud elf. Unlike the half-elf Eina, her pointed ears confirmed she was a pure-blooded elf, like Riveria Ljos Alf.
The atmosphere was cheerful, the staff energetic, filled with laughter. Though some adventurers leered at the waitresses, everyone was mostly drinking and laughing; no rudeness occurred, and the food looked delicious.
The interior was stylish, yet maintained the tavern's charm. The owner clearly had a keen eye for fashion.
Despite this, Arthas remained uncomfortable. The lively atmosphere made him feel out of place, giving him the urge to leave.
As he thought this, a voice rang out.
"Arthas, you came."
Turning, Syr appeared beside him.
"Ah… I did."
"Welcome."
Syr, in the same outfit as this morning, formally greeted Arthas.
Pulling a slightly reluctant Arthas through the open entrance, she called out in a clear voice.
"One guest!"
It seemed he couldn't leave now.
