Chapter 17 - DULK: Chapter 17

"Oh well… consider it a small punishment for using him to replenish my mana. Why did I act so intimately with him?"

Riveria Ljos Alf sighed softly, her anger completely gone. Looking at the young man beside her, she bowed slightly again.

"Regardless, please accept my apologies, for both the escaped Minotaur and Bete's rudeness."

"Yes, don't worry about it. I accept your apology."

No longer refusing her kindness, Arthas nodded slightly, indicating his forgiveness.

"Would you… do the same to me?"

At that moment, Wallenstein, who had remained silent, spoke in a strange tone.

"Um… what do you mean?"

Arthas paused, looking at Wallenstein curiously.

"You want Riveria Ljos Alf to be yours. Do you feel the same way about me? When you see me, do you have those same thoughts?"

Wallenstein widened her beautiful golden eyes, staring expectantly at Arthas.

"Um… how should I put this?"

Seeing her serious expression, Arthas was momentarily at a loss for words. Riveria Ljos Alf had an amused expression.

Though she knew Wallenstein was a bit naive, this was embarrassing. A girl should be more reserved.

Looking at Wallenstein, who was earnestly awaiting an answer, Arthas didn't know what to say.

If he honestly admitted to having such thoughts, he'd be considered a pervert. But if he denied it, would she think he found her less attractive than Riveria Ljos Alf?

Though he did slightly prefer women with a maternal aura like Riveria Ljos Alf…

Arthas hesitated. Wallenstein continued to stare at him. Riveria Ljos Alf broke the silence.

"Alright, alright, let's go. Everyone in the Familia is waiting for us."

Riveria Ljos Alf said, pulling Wallenstein away. Before leaving, she turned back.

"Oh, give me the crystal. The Loki Familia will compensate you, but taking that crystal will cause unnecessary trouble."

Riveria Ljos Alf said this; a Level 1 adventurer possessing a Level 2 Minotaur's magic crystal was highly unusual.

Wait a moment… a Level 1 adventurer?!

Realizing the key point, Riveria Ljos Alf stared, dumbfounded.

"You… how did you get to the ninth floor?!"

A Level 1 couldn't possibly reach the ninth floor! It was completely abnormal!

"Um…" Arthas was stunned again. How should he explain? He hadn't encountered a single monster and had smoothly reached the ninth floor?

No one would believe that!

Wallenstein stared at Arthas curiously. Though she didn't know why he claimed to be Level 1, it was impossible.

Based on the power of the ice she'd felt, she was certain he was at least Level 5, possibly stronger.

She wanted to ask, but seeing Arthas's expression, she remained silent.

He seemed unwilling to reveal this information.

"Um, I was actually carrying supplies for an adventuring party. Then, on the ninth floor, we encountered a Minotaur, and everyone scattered."

After a moment, Arthas came up with a perfect excuse.

"I… see…"

Riveria Ljos Alf paused, not thinking much of it. She probably felt Arthas had no reason to lie, and a Level 1 couldn't possibly reach the ninth floor.

As for Arthas hiding his strength, Riveria Ljos Alf considered it impossible. As a great mage, she clearly saw that Arthas's stamina was at its limit; only a novice adventurer could be in such a state.

"Let's escort you up. We'll exchange the magic crystal for gold for you."

Riveria Ljos Alf smiled gently, and Arthas nodded gratefully. He didn't want to flaunt the crystal at the Adventurer's Guild; attracting unwanted attention wasn't pleasant.

A Level 2 monster's crystal… should fetch a good price, right?

Accompanied by Riveria Ljos Alf and Wallenstein, Arthas arrived at the Adventurer's Guild.

Eina, who had been worried about Arthas's prolonged absence, looked puzzled upon seeing him return with two powerful adventurers from the Loki Familia.

She knew both women's names: Ais Wallenstein, the strongest female swordsman, and Riveria Ljos Alf, the strongest mage.

Both were Loki Familia's aces, powerful Level 5 adventurers.

The question was… how did they end up with Arthas? They seemed quite close.

"You're Mr. Arthas's advisor?"

While Eina was stunned, Riveria Ljos Alf stepped forward.

"Ah… yes. Why are the two of you from the Loki Familia with Arthas?"

"Ah… there was an accident. We rescued him on the ninth floor and brought him back."

Riveria Ljos Alf said, omitting the escaped Minotaur, as it was embarrassing.

"The… ninth floor?!"

Eina was shocked, almost falling out of her chair.

Staring at Arthas with a murderous look, Eina said fiercely,

"Thank you for your help, Loki Familia. Otherwise, this reckless fool would have died in the Dungeon."

"Ah… um… actually, it was our mistake that put Mr. Arthas in danger."

Seeing Eina's intention to scold Arthas, Riveria Ljos Alf said awkwardly.
