Eina finally saw Arthas enter the Adventurer's Guild in the late afternoon.
Seeing the seemingly unharmed young man, the beautiful half-elf finally breathed a sigh of relief.
His first adventure had taken almost the entire day, almost making Eina think something had happened to him in the Dungeon.
It wasn't unheard of for newcomers to die on their first day, though it was rare. Eina almost thought she had encountered such an adventurer after a long time.
Although relieved, the girl still angrily questioned Arthas.
"Didn't I tell you to come back after killing a Goblin? Why did it take so long?"
Goblins are cowardly and weak monsters, incredibly easy to deal with. Their strength is only about that of a normal child. Unless they're acting in groups, they rarely attack humans.
The only troublesome part of dealing with Goblins is how to kill them before they escape.
Eina didn't think Goblins would cause Arthas much trouble. In her opinion, the reason he took so long to return was that he had secretly gone to the lower levels.
While the second floor aren't very dangerous, and the monsters are still weak Goblins and Treants, there might be more of them.
Groups of Goblins become more aggressive, making them troublesome and difficult for newcomers to deal with.
"Sorry…"
Being scolded by Eina like this, Arthas lowered his head apologetically.
"It's fine as long as you came back safely. You're lucky. Which floor did you go to?"
Seeing Arthas's sincere apology, Eina couldn't continue scolding him. She simply waved her hand and asked.
"I didn't pay attention… I think I went to below the fifth floor?"
Arthas scratched his head, saying this uncertainly, almost causing Eina, who had picked up her teacup to take a sip, to spray tea all over him.
"Y-y-you… what did you say?! You went to the fifth floor?!"
Eina slammed her teacup on the table, almost screaming hysterically, immediately drawing the attention of everyone in the guild.
Noticing the strange atmosphere, Eina realized her outburst, immediately grabbed Arthas's still somewhat bewildered hand, and pulled him to a small room at the back of the guild.
This was a small room separated from the guild hall, usually used for one-on-one tutoring. Yesterday, Arthas had listened to Eina's lecture for several hours in this room.
No, calling it a lecture is disrespectful; it should be called instruction.
Arthas, still somewhat dazed, sat down at a small table in the room. Eina slammed the door shut, then turned around, her eyes fierce as she stared at Arthas, who looked at her innocently, barely suppressing her anger as she questioned him.
"Have you forgotten what I told you?! Absolutely! Absolutely do not go to the lower floors on your own! You went down, and you went straight to the fifth floor! Are you trying to die?!"
Eina said this, striding towards him, until she was almost leaning over Arthas.
Looking at the beautiful face of the half-elf leaning across the table, Arthas looked away, feeling awkward and uncomfortable.
"That's because… I didn't see any Goblins on the first floor, so I wanted to check the lower floors."
Arthas said this honestly, leaving Eina speechless.
"Even if there weren't any on the first floor, there should have been some on the second floor! Why did you go even further down?"
The first floor is frequently visited, so the lack of monsters isn't surprising, but even if there weren't any on the first floor… there should have been some on the second floor, right?
Not to mention this guy went straight to the fifth floor!
The fifth floor! Normally, adventurers who have been adventuring for a month wouldn't dare to go there casually, yet he went straight to the fifth floor on his first day.
"Because there weren't any monsters on the second floor either."
Arthas continued to speak honestly, causing Eina to pause slightly.
"You're not going to say that you didn't encounter any monsters on the third and fourth floors either, and that's why you went to the fifth floor, are you?"
Looking at Arthas, who didn't seem to be lying, Eina asked.
"That's right, I didn't see a single monster on the third or fourth floors either."
Arthas nodded honestly, causing the furious Eina to gradually calm down.
It seemed that this was the only explanation for Arthas being completely clean, without a single scratch.
Only because he hadn't encountered any monsters and hadn't fought, would he be so clean.
Of course, there was another possibility: that Arthas hadn't gone to the Dungeon at all; he had spent the whole day somewhere else and then came back to make fun of her.
However, Eina quickly dismissed this possibility. Having seen countless people, she had the confidence to tell whether someone was lying or not.
Then there was only one other possibility: this incredibly lucky idiot had foolishly gone straight to the fifth floor and stayed there for a whole day without encountering a single monster.
This is beyond just luck!
Eina looked speechlessly at Arthas, who sat before her with an innocent expression. She had a lot of things she wanted to scold him about, but opening her mouth, she couldn't say anything.
"Anyway…"
Eina, feeling a headache coming on, rubbed her temples, adopting a patient tone.
"Anyway, don't ever do that again! The fifth floor is no joke. Don't think you're lucky this time because you didn't encounter any monsters. Remember, countless adventurers die in the Dungeon every day."
Eina said this, and Arthas nodded repeatedly like a chick pecking at rice.
"Alright, alright, that's it. Try again tomorrow with the Goblins. Remember, don't go to the lower floors on your own, understand? If there are no monsters, wait in one place for a while. That's also a characteristic of monster spawns in the Dungeon. If you keep moving, you might not encounter any monsters."
Eina said this, waving her hand to dismiss Arthas.
"I understand."
Arthas nodded and turned to leave. He had been gone for so long; Hestia must be worried about him.
Eina, sitting in the room, watched Arthas's departing back and tilted her head slightly, falling into thought.
Not encountering a single monster until the fifth floor… was this just incredibly good luck, or…
