Tommy hadn't expected to find himself sitting in a police station that morning, especially not in connection with two break-ins, the second of which he hadn't even known about. The fluorescent lights buzzed above, sterile and unforgiving, casting a pale sheen over the file sitting open between him and the officer tasked with speaking with him.
He tried to keep the impatience he felt off his face.
"We're trying to cover more ground, Mr. Mackenzie," the officer said, flipping through the incident reports. "This is a precautionary step, but we figured it would be worth clearing up some of the timeline details. Especially with the video circulating online."
Tommy leaned forward and his eyes narrowed slightly. "The video from the alley?"
"Yes. The footage appears to show an emotionally charged altercation. Public opinion has been… vocal."
Yeah, that was certainly the goal of whoever had been behind it. All the leads he thought that he had ultimately came out as dead ends.
