The Hydra agents inside the car also tensed up. Kurohane was acting too quickly and brutally. Even before they had time to react, Fury's finger was already broken! And the reason for the broken finger was simply because Director Fury had almost uttered a curse word that was an open secret to every American!
In the memories of those Hydra agents, when Kurohane first joined S.H.I.E.L.D., although he seemed a bit dull and rigid, his personality had suddenly changed drastically a few months ago. He had become intolerant of even the slightest mistake and would not hesitate to point a gun at his superiors. As a result, he was accidentally seen by Agent Coulson and ended up by Director Fury's side. Now, he was the only Hydra organization mole close to Nick Fury. However, not long after becoming a mole, he was sent to the Middle East for three months. He hadn't even been back for a day before he tied up Director Fury! If they hadn't found that alien with an unknown identity, they wouldn't know how Kurohane would explain his actions to the Hydra leader!
However, Kurohane's 'discovery' was very important. Hydra had infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. like water seeping into the ground, but this Nick Fury was still capable of pulling off cunning maneuvers behind the scenes! And admittedly, Kurohane seemed to be a natural spy. Hadn't he just dug up crucial information for the organization?!
...
In a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. base, inside an interrogation room with sturdy steel walls all around, after Kurohane had broken seven of Nick Fury's fingers, the Director was helplessly bound to a metal chair. Coulson, looking at Fury's now strangely shaped hand, unconsciously wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. Kurohane was too cruel! He had rarely seen someone so brutal in S.H.I.E.L.D.!
Gathering his scattered thoughts, Coulson took the initiative to ask, "Director Fury, can we talk about the aliens now?"
"What aliens?" Nick Fury replied with a dark face, beads of sweat beading on his temples. He still chose to play dumb in front of Coulson. Even with Kurohane standing watch in front of him, he still gritted his teeth and refused to reveal anything. The Skrull issue was too big. Even as the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he couldn't bear such a huge responsibility at all! Moreover, seeing Kurohane's behavior just now, he clearly wouldn't accept his cooperation with the Skrulls. Alien refugees living on Earth, even if the Skrulls hadn't launched a full-scale invasion, Kurohane was right. Without strong military support, the Skrulls were a time bomb! If Captain Marvel wasn't here, the Skrulls would have long turned Earth into their colony! Even the Kree who were chasing them throughout the universe had been repelled by Captain Marvel! As long as the Skrulls were on Earth for even a day, Captain Marvel wouldn't stop protecting this planet! However, he was the only one in all of S.H.I.E.L.D. who knew of Captain Marvel's existence, Carol Danvers. This was his last trump card, and the last trump card of the entire Earth! As long as he pressed that pager, Carol would come, no matter where she was...
Seeing the pager Kurohane was playing with in his hand, Nick Fury felt his world collapsing! That pager was considered advanced communication equipment in the past, but now it was just an accessory. Why did Kurohane take that accessory from him?! When Kurohane used Super Vision, he even knew the color of Fury's underwear! Let alone this pager, whose technology far surpassed Earth's! After Kurohane checked with his eyes and confirmed there were no cameras or listening devices in the interrogation room, he put the pager in his pocket and lowered his voice to Coulson's ear.
"Coulson, there are no cameras in this room. Does that mean I can use torture?" Kurohane whispered.
"NO!" Coulson was shocked to hear Kurohane mention torture and immediately stopped him in a loud tone. "Kurohane, S.H.I.E.L.D. is a legitimate organization! You can't always talk like a villain!"
"But Director Nick Fury is being very tight-lipped! What are we supposed to do if we don't use torture?!" Kurohane picked up a pair of pliers lying nearby, walked to Fury's side, and pinched his chin roughly. "This guy has so many teeth. So, it doesn't matter if I pull out seventeen or eighteen of them."
"You dare?!" Fury growled, his eyes narrowed angrily.
"What makes you think I wouldn't dare? Pulling out a few teeth won't kill you!" Kurohane replied coldly.
Nick Fury was really starting to panic now. Kurohane always did what he said. If he didn't want to eat with dentures for the rest of his life, he had to say something now!
"I'll talk! I'll talk!" Fury finally exclaimed.
Hearing Nick Fury willing to talk, Kurohane released his grip on Fury's chin. Nick Fury reorganized his chaotic thoughts. If he wanted to get past this Kurohane 'obstacle', the Carol issue was unavoidable. Captain Marvel's powerful military threat was the key to suppressing the Skrulls! Fortunately, Kurohane was also one of the candidates for the Avengers initiative, so some things could be revealed to him. He had shot a Skrull directly, so he was most likely not a Skrull spy.
"During World War II, the United States ran a Super Soldier program. The only result of this program was Captain America, Steve Rogers. Although we lost him a long time ago, he was the world's first superhero," Fury began his story.
"You want to start from the Big Bang?! All that is in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s archives! Coulson is a fan of Captain Steve, just talk about the aliens!" Kurohane interrupted, holding the pliers and swinging them back and forth in front of Nick Fury's face, signaling that he would act if Fury didn't get straight to the point.
"Uh... then let's talk about the aliens. They are refugees from the universe, the Skrulls. They were chased by another great empire in the universe, the Kree, and fled to Earth. I met them when I was a young agent. To pursue them, a Kree alien warship stopped outside Earth's atmosphere. Then a superhero appeared and single-handedly repelled the Kree warship. That superhero reached a consensus with the S.H.I.E.L.D. leader at the time, allowing the Skrulls to live on Earth. S.H.I.E.L.D. at the time couldn't refuse the power of that superhero, so they could only agree," Nick Fury finally got to the main point. Anyway, he had said it, and Kurohane had to believe it, like it or not! He didn't even have anyone to verify it, except for that pager. There was no way to contact Captain Marvel at all!
Kurohane stared at the continuously talking Nick Fury without expression, then pressed the tip of the pliers against Fury's mouth. "Then can S.H.I.E.L.D. refuse that superhero now?"
"NO!" Fury replied firmly.
"Then you still let Skrulls work in S.H.I.E.L.D.?! I'll pull out your teeth today!" Kurohane threatened in a cold tone.
