"How do you all feel?" Reno asked with anticipation after each girl had eaten their assigned fruit.
"I can hear the wind outside!" Kaya gasped in awe, her hands cupped to her ears.
"I can too," Makino added, her wide eyes glimmering. "My senses feel so much sharper!"
The reactions came quickly. The women murmured in amazement as the fruits' effects began to show.
Then—
"My hands—what's happening?!" Nami suddenly yelped.
Everyone turned. Her once-fair hands were now jet black.
"Whoa, it's like steel!" Nojiko reached out and pinched Nami's fingers. "It's rock solid!"
Reno chuckled and activated his Cloud Body, turning his arm into vapor. "Try it."
Nami got the idea. She reached out hesitantly—and to her shock, her fingers grasped his arm.
"I'm actually touching you!" she gasped, staring at the cloudlike mass in her grip.
So this was Armament Haki.
Tashigi's eyes lit up with realization. "That's how you hit Smoker, isn't it? You used Haki!"
Reno nodded, a glint of satisfaction in his eye.
"With regular training, your Haki will grow stronger," he told them. "Especially you two, Nami, Tashigi—I expect results once we reach the Grand Line."
Nami stuck out her tongue. "Got it, Captain~"
"I'll do my best!" Tashigi added seriously, straightening her back.
Reno nodded. It wasn't just lip service. He meant it.
The Grand Line was a different world—dangerous, volatile, filled with monsters. He couldn't protect them forever. They had to learn to fight too.
"Kaya, Karumen, Makino, Nojiko—you four can train at your own pace," he said more gently. "You each have roles to play. Just enough to defend yourselves is fine."
The four nodded sweetly.
Then Reno turned to Nami.
"By the way—tonight, I need to see you privately."
"Eh?" Nami blinked. "Isn't tonight… Wednesday? Aren't we supposed to play poker?"
At the mention of their "games", Makino and Nojiko quickly looked away, cheeks flushed.
First it was called "poker" when there were three.
Then when there were four, he dubbed it "mahjong."
And with six? "Go-Stop."
They didn't even want to imagine what he'd call seven or eight…
Reno raised a hand and scowled. "This is serious business, alright? Stop with your weird faces!"
The girls scattered, giggling and dodging his glare—though not without shooting Nami a few teasing glances.
Maybe he was serious. But with just the two of them in a room? Yeah, right.
Later That Night – Nami's Room
Reno gently pushed the door open.
And froze.
Nami was curled up under the blanket—her face red, emotions tangled: nervousness, anticipation, anxiety…
Reno sighed. "Seriously? How many times have I taught you? Do you really need to act like I'm robbing the place?"
She didn't reply—but her face burned even brighter.
Finally, she peeked out from under the covers.
And Reno's brain short-circuited.
That outfit…
"Did you buy this in Loguetown?" he asked after a long pause.
Nami bashfully nodded. "I… got a few."
"How many is 'a few'?"
Her head dipped lower. "A lot… different styles. Maid… nurse… um… others…"
Her voice faded to a whisper.
Reno grinned like a wolf. "Well-prepared, huh? You've clearly done your homework on a man's taste."
She rolled her eyes at him but smiled.
"You should teach Kaya and the others," Reno added. "Their understanding of this stuff is terrible."
Nami chuckled. "Maybe."
She imagined Kaya trying on a maid outfit and nearly burst out laughing.
Ahem… back to topic.
"So, Captain, what was this serious matter you wanted to discuss?" she asked, finally managing to act composed.
"We'll get to that," Reno said, stepping forward. "First, I need to teach you a new navigation technique. It's called Reverse-Number Mapping."
In truth, the moment he saw her outfit, all "serious matters" had flown straight out the window.
And so, the "lesson" began.
Four Hours Later
By the end of the "lesson," Reno had gained an entirely new appreciation for the term perfection.
Not only was Nami stunning, but now she was integrating her newly awakened Haki into her performance.
Pair that with Wave Mastery…
Flawless.
As usual, he used Healing Power to restore her full stamina.
Without it, Nami wouldn't even be able to sit upright.
"Alright, now that your brain's working again," Reno teased, "let me show you something."
He pulled out a small, spiraled red fruit—distinctly different from the others.
"A new Devil Fruit?!" Nami covered her mouth in surprise.
This would be her third.
"You remember what I told you about Conqueror's Haki, right?"
Nami nodded slowly.
"You said it's one-in-a-million… something only born leaders possess," she recalled. "You also said it can't be learned—only awakened."
Reno smiled. "Good memory."
He held the fruit out. "Eat this, and you'll awaken Conqueror's Haki."
Nami didn't take it.
"Do the others have one too?" she asked quietly.
Reno shook his head. "No. This is for you. Because I'm spoiling you."
Her nose scrunched slightly as her eyes misted over.
But she still pushed it back toward him. "If they don't have one, I don't want it."
That caught Reno off guard.
For the first time, he looked at Nami with something deeper than teasing affection.
He sighed and explained the true purpose behind the allocation.
That these fruits weren't about favoritism—but about functionality and future threats.
Only a few needed Conqueror's Haki. And Nami… was one of them.
Only then did she accept it.
She took a bite.
And just like that—Nami awakened all three types of Haki.
Observation.
Armament.
Conqueror's.
