~Adrian~
I banged on David's door impatiently waiting for him to open up.
"It's unlocked, Adrian. We've been waiting for you," David called out.
"Sorry, I didn't know if you were dressed," I said as I came through the door.
"I found Paige in my dreams. She confirmed that Vince is indeed behind this.
He hired men to take her, they have her in a shack in the woods. That's all she knows," I said as I made my way to the fridge where David was standing.
"I've already heard back on that tag number. I had my buddy run it through the system and he took a picture of the results and texted it back," David said as he handed me a blood bag.
"Let's see it," I said as I swallowed down the cold blood from the bag.
David started looking around under the bed and on the night-stand,
"Nicole, do you remember where I put my phone?" he called into the bathroom.
"I think it's in the pocket of your other pants," she called back, her voice echoing from the bathroom.
David arched his eyebrows and grinned. I shook my head, not wanting to know.
She came out of the bathroom dressed in jeans and a black v-neck tee shirt, her hair still wet.
"I put all the blood-stained clothes in that corner by the door. I think that's where you'll find your phone," Nicole said as she put her wet hair into a bun.
David went through the dirty clothes and indeed found his phone in the pocket of his blood-stained jeans.
"Adrian, there's more. Rico called me before he sent this information. He said some of the guys on the force were acting strange when he looked into it. They tried to tell him to leave it alone, like a threat," David said with concern.
"He suspect's Vince has dirty cops on his payroll,"he added.
"Rico is an alpha's son, and he has a whole pack behind him. They have no idea who they are threatening," I said with a growl.
I imagined officers bullying him for being so young and new to the force. I probably made his job even harder having him poke around into this.
David pulled up the photo of the search results and showed it to me. The van belongs to a man named Edmond Jackson. He has a criminal history a mile long, everything from armed robbery, manufacturing drugs, sexual assault and battery, the list just goes on.
I felt myself cringe at the sexual assault charge, now even more afraid for what could be happening to Paige.
He is currently on probation and his address was listed.
This man had to have been an accomplice because he doesn't match the description of the bald man that Nicole mentioned.
"Nicole, was this the man that took Paige?" I asked, holding up the photo of the mugshot of a tall, skinny, man with long red hair and red beard.
"That's not him, I never saw this guy, only the big bald dude," Nicole said.
"In my dream, Paige said that Vince hired men to take her, suggesting there is more than one. This guy was in on it even if he didn't physically take her himself," I said as I looked up the address.
It was an hour away from here, and it wasn't a guarantee that this is where she would be, but it is worth a shot.
"David, this address is an hour away and considering there was more than one man in on this, they may not be at the address on file for this Edmond guy. We are going to have to split up. I'll go to this address, I can get there faster.
I need you to close the club for the night and let everyone know they will have a paid day off. Stay behind until I call for you and keep Nicole close by your side until she gets her cravings in check," I said.
"I want to help Paige!" Nicole said with anger.
"My love, you can help but you can't be around mortals until we find our target guys. We can't risk you harming an innocent," David said while holding her shoulders and looking her in the eyes.
"But what if she isn't there?! Did you even check to see if the address is in the woods?" she askedangrily.
I don't know why I didn't think of that. I looked at the location on my phone again and she was right. It isn't in any woods; there are no woods anywhere near this little dot on the map.
"She's right, the address isn't in the woods. I have no way of tracking her," I said.
"Brother, I will call all the shifters that we have on our payroll, maybe they can pick up a scent and help us track her," David said as he started to make a call.
"Track her," Nicole said, as if she were weighing the words on her mind.
"Where is her phone? I need her phone!" Nicole said in desperation.
I pulled the phone from my pocket and let her have it.
I went to grab another bag of blood from the fridge and chugged it.
"We have an entire pack on the job. We can meet them at the house now," David said as he slid his coat on.
"I found her!" Nicole said.
In a flash I was next to Nicole. "What do you mean?" I asked.
"She was wearing her watch when we took our naps. She had it on to track her steps, but we skipped the workout and went for naps instead. She left her phone but was still wearing her watch! Look here, this is where she is, or where the watch is, if she took it off," Nicole said.
"New plan. David, we are gonna go where the watch is. Let the shifters know, we could use the extra help tracking her scent," I said as I walked to the door.
"Can I go?" Nicole asked.
"I'm gonna go ahead of you two. You guys can catch up to me after David gets a hold of the shifters," I said before exiting the door.
I left my keys behind, no need for them now, as I made my way up the stairs and to the roof of the club.
I took a breath and leapt from the roof and flew through the night sky.
