Chapter 4,
Specialty,
Third Person's POV
Opening his eyes, Eljeric saw Zephyr before him and in his right side, the two saw Tj and Lyka there staring at them super perplexed by what's before them.
"Wait, I can explain." Eljeric was desperately trying to clear the mists.
"Don't worry, Gella already explained it to us. No need to worry more," Tj replied while Eljeric was still looking desperate for acceptance.
"I didn't know it! By just a short time, you two. . .Ahhh! I'm so happy that I could die now!!!" Lyka continuously smacked her hand in Tj's back making him flinch in pain in front of the two who's still handcuffed.
"Now, let us start the game, shall we?" A guy who wears a pair of glasses with a pair of cyan eyes wearing a long lab gown covering his top to bottom body.
"Anyways, my name is Hermy, call me anything you want. We will be starting to discover some new you and I will support you for I cannot do it for you. If your done discovering, I will be helping you enhance it." He only looked low-key matching his looks with his deep blue hair exempting his bright cyan eyes that glistens.
"Uhmm. . ." he raised a eyebrow on someone who just raised her hand, "less than 50 players are killed, yet. . ." she didn't fully said her part.
"Oh, that? It's either 50 dies or some dies and the others have already escaped the last room," he explained making the people there nod.
After that, remaining player came teleporting into different places filling the new room we are currently are. The new room was a forest filled with nothing but trees, trees, and more of it.
In the others, Hermy also introduced himself and what he'll be doing and such things which he already told the others making his words more and more boring to hear that it might hurt their ears hearing the line in repeat.
"Now that everyone is complete, I will be explaining the next reason for coming to this room. Every single one of you guys will be discovering or will have your ability enhanced and we will also test you level," he said fixing his glasses.
"May we know how will you train us by yourself?" An anonymous guy asked.
He smirked proudly and said, "By this." he separated into many person's as many as the players in the place by partner.
"You can chose to train with someone, but you have to be with at least with my clone to watch you closely and analyze your style." His words were not scary, but anyone who would hear his words will surely follow his orders. Maybe it was because of his presence or it might be cause of his voice being pleasing in the ear to hear or bossy or something like that.
Eljeric came in a separate place with Lyka, Tj and Zephyr with them after having their handcuffs off of their hands making them more comfortable than ever.
Arriving, Eljeric was the first to land a question, "Uhmm, sir? How do I know if I have a power or not?"
"That's a difficult one," he puts his hand on his chin, thinking before replying, "It could be inheritance. You could have the same magic with the one your family have in common, or you could search it by manifest your Mana in every place if it has a matching one or it's unique itself." Once again, Hermy was a bit inside by his words, not because he was not sure by it but because he does not know if Eljeric is to believe in his words.
"Why not try it?" Zephyr smiled at him trying to help his calm his mind.
"Maybe trying is the bast way. My family's ability varies every single time. My twin brothers older than me can use dark and the other is light magic and the oldest and one and only girl in our house can use gravity manipulation while the oldest boy is something I never knew more about, despite the fact that we're the closest," Eljeric stated shocking everyone.
Indeed, everyone possesses Mana, but not all have magical powers that are used to activate one's ability, but hearing that every single one of his family can use different magic and now inheriting their parent's ability is something more far beyond normal. Family inherit same abilities since magic are inherited the same as genes, but not everytime.
Controlling his Mana, Eljeric slowly exerted Mana everywhere with one thought in his mind: "Maybe I could use the ability called telekinesis?"
Suddenly, the unique flow of Mana in the air suddenly became familiar and it matched a certain recorded ability.
"The flow is changing?! What is this?!" Zephyr was shocked as the others also.
"This ability. . . It's telekinesis!" Hermy immediately informed the others.
"What? My thoughts were right on the spot?" Eljeric was shocked hearing that his ability is what he thought it would be.
"Well then, we have to create a distance for now, we have to train separately from here, but the distance is not too far, so don't worry much," Hermy winked at the Zephyr telling a secret message there behind those words making him look confused.
"First, we have to test you, it's to see your current strength and test it after training to know if there's a sudden or no change from before," Hermy said smiling calmly.
As he signaled, things came out of the ground. There were five targets, one big magical stone for measuring capacity of a magical powers and lastly, two more stones about the same size as Hermy with the color of brown and grey.
"The first one will be easy, especially when you can use telekinetic ability. You only have to bring those down. The next is capacity test for measuring magical powers and the two there was the brown for strength and grey for agility. That all," he said as he takes a step back a little further away from Eljeric.
He took a deep breath to get ready to test out his new powers with full confidence.
Eljeric touched the ground and pieces of soil came off with a spear's pointy end's form and immediately came attacking the five target, three on the spot and the two are only hit half of the center since he can't fully control it yet. Next, he touched the big magical stone and it shone. One thing shocked him an made him feel wrong, and that is when it had a slight crack on it. Hermy was shocked at first, but he maintained his composure back and nodded at Eljeric who seemed anxious because of his actions.
Coming where the red magical stone, Eljeric infused his ability in his fist to make it stronger by controlling it using telekinesis and after punching it, it dispersed into bits of pieces. Lastly, he looked confused at the gem because he never had a clue on using it. Touching it, he felt the whole place. With the radius of 3 meters, he felt everything inside it. Emotions, the speed of time, the slight wind entering the radius and the nothingness of the part of the labyrinth he's standing at. Realizing it was done, he looked baffled by the very tiny light similar to a star viewed from earth. It was as small as a baby ant!
"How could this be?!" Hermy shouts, shocked by what's happening and attracting the other's attention.
Zephyr and the couple came after hearing along with other nearby players who is also training. Some also just came there to laugh and ridicule his low level of agility. Even it's pretty low for a human despite their ability to enhance themselves physically even if they don't posses magical powers. Every single one of them would just say things like, "Incompetent", "Weak", and "Trash", which made the three furious. Who would not be? They just ridiculed him without knowing him? It's just unfair, you know!
"I'm sorry to tell you, but you have the weakest agility in all the people I've tested." Hermy sounded disappointed in Eljeric for he had good scores in the first ones.
"Can I try again?" Eljeric said once again, pleading for a second chance.
"Sure, but you'll only ridicule yourself more and more if you continue," Hermy warned as he snapped his finger and the gem was replaced right away making the crowd laugh at his confidence.
"Hold this for me," he said handing his precious pendant to Zephyr who looked baffled by his actions.
"Seriously, why is power superior alone?" Eljeric looked serious and added, "My family was praised for their outstanding magical powers and strength, I can't let myself disgrace my own family by blood," his face with a serious look didn't have it's look wiped away off hi face making the audience wonder if he's just daydreaming or he's telling the truth for the never saw his face before.
Slowly touching the replaced magical stone, it glowed and formed different balls of light that varies in color leaving those who insulted him perplexed seeing the strange outcome.
"How is that…even possible?" Hermy was totally shocked by what's before him. The magical stone even have faint cracks on it not like last time.
"It's probably the pendant that controls time that was wielded by Eljeric's family," Zephyr explained the reason behind Eljeric's low agility fixing the mess and making the others swallow back their insulting words.
"May I see it?" Zephyr looked at Eljeric who nodded before giving the pendant.
"Anyways, you won't be able to use it, either way," Zephyr replied.
"Huh? How does this works?" Hermy asked as he opens what's inside and closing it and tries different method like dripping blood on it but it never worked.
Eljeric too back his possession in Hermy's hand and said, "No other than my family can use this," after saying it, he smiled calmly and kindly.
Activating it, Hermy didn't seem to realize any difference until Tj demonstrated ot by throwing a dagger inside Eljeric's radius and it slowed down shocking everyone.
Indeed, what a unique item, Eljeric even added that this item was never created but given by gods themselves to a family member of his before giving it to him and it can never be reproduced using magic or by the use of the ability of a Demi-God or a Halfblood Ancient who's very close to becoming a god themselves.
"Now, everyone, return to where we started from, we will have a little elimination. Gella?" Hermy called out.
"Gella here!" She said appearing at a hologram, "Special Activity Time! In this game, you have to survive the place by the time limit of 15 minutes! Fear not, you'll only be fighting in the center of a pit!" She smiled creepily as she said the last sentence.
After being informed, the four were teleported into a different place like the other players and they're standing at thin rocks about 6 feet high and individually and the rock continuously sinks into the gigantic sandpit that covers a wide area that it seemed to cover the whole room.
"We'll make it!" Zephyr said pointing at a big place that floats from aboveground in the center of the sandpit.
"Get on, Eljeric pointed at the daggers of his that's aligned while floating because of his ability.
"Won't you be exhausted?" Zephyr asked worriedly.
"Don't worry about it, I was trained to hold out since I was young for the pendant eats up my Mana as well," Eljeric assured flexing his skills.
As the three came there, they slowly, and cautiously walked in the daggers as Eljeric walks closely to them just in case they fall off.
Reaching the top, there were many people there already and almost every players were already there and some few was missing indicating that they are eliminated.
Realizing it, every players were teleported in the sandpit for the reason that they don't have enough deaths to stop the game. The four could not do anything for they are teleported at different locations.
Eljeric could not talk anymore and his breath are under his hold for the body of his to below the eye are already sunken and he was about to meet his bad end.
Before it could occur, He was stopped by Gella announcing, "Hello! The game has ended, ten players were eliminated and you will soon progress the next room after a short break!"
Eljeric was relieved after being teleported to another place where there is a huge number of washing machines aligned and he was already beside Zephyr who was coved in mud.
"Are you okay?" Zephyr asked as Eljeric was panting heavily after holding his breath longer than he expected.
Trying to calm him down, Zephyr pats Eljeric's head as his head was in his shoulder for he's a little taller than his boyfriend.
